After seeing the reviews I shouldn’t be surprised by what happened. Terrible customer service, rude combative employees. This company has gone downhill ever since they bought out all their competitors, now they nickel and dime(read: rob) gamers. They know we have to go there if we really want to trade and they prey on us. I’m a 30 something father of two, I’ve got a couple of kids, a wife, and I run a business… I game now only a few hours a week. Went to trade in a FIFA15 for the FIFA16, which I do every year. Not only was the original price given to me much lower than previous years(even though they resell for 39.99−54.99), Edwin behind the counter made a judgement call that he was going to take an additional 30% off of the original value of my trade in due to damage. I asked to see the damage he spoke of since the game hasn’t left the console in over a year, he showed me a thumbprint from when I put it in the case to exchange. When I asked if I could wipe off that thumbprint to «fix» the«problem» he refused to let me see MY game again and moved it away from the register(mind you I hadn’t completed the transaction so that game is still technically mine). At that point u asked for a manager to talk to and he claimed he was the only one there so no help down that avenue. I’ve been a customer of this company for 15 years or so and experiences are getting worse and worse. I was planning on buying a couple PS4s this holiday season, I’ll mKe sure to take my 1000s of dollars of business to another company who knows how to treat people and tries to do the right thing, not the greedy thing. Being new to the area I’ll try to mention often to people I meet and discuss gaming with to never go to that store as it is not the place to spend your hard earned money! They’ve been on a steep decline for years when it comes to customer service, maybe this was the final nail in the coffin?

Has an okay selection of video games but some of the workers there act like their lives suck. I went there to turn in some video games for store credit and the guy said, «Great, this is gonna take forever,» Where else does that guy have to be, he is at work. Then when he said do you have an ID and I checked and could not find mine on me. He said that you had to prove that you were over 18 to return the games. Dafuq. Well I am displeased with their service but its an okay place to find games just don’t expect a lot of good 3DS games to be in stock.

I am not surprised to see that this is the lowest rated Gamestop in the area. My son and i took a copy of Call of Duty we got with an xbox to trade in for something else. We were told that gamestop will not take any«unopened» games. I said.“so if I walk out of the store and open the package and return it you can take it?” to which she said«no sir because we have it on store video that it came in unopen?.. wtf? They are actually implying that we could have stolen this item? And if we open it and drive to another gamestop(which we did) they would not hesitate to take it. This is a ridiculous policy. There are OTHERWAYS to manage loss control that do not involve insulting customers. Shame on you Gamestop!

I like this Game Stop location, but it’s always packed elbow to elbow, and the selection is very sparse. If you come here for new games, they usually have what you need, but I always have the hardest time finding copies of my favorite titles in used condition. The staff is nice here, they are very knowledgeable about everything that comes in and out of the store, and they even troubleshoot(unofficially) some games and devices. My son came here and started discussing his problems within a specific game and they helped him move past his obstacles, this really helped me out also(Saved me $ 20 on a strategy guide). Thanks guys, I’ll be back soon.

Went there yesterday to sell some games. The guy there was rude, very impatient and seemed like he did not want to be there. Got what I wanted but did not like the service. Wont be visiting them anytime soon.

Stood in this line on black Friday only for the guy to tell me they are already sold out and they were giving tickets to people who were waiting outside. So why am I standing in line he also wasn’t able to answer any of my questions. I tried to tell him that I already checked game stop online and they were all sold out as well but he insisted that they weren’t. I haven’t gone back in there besides when my boyfriend wants to see if there are any new games.

6:04PM on 6÷21÷2014: I went into purchase a few games. After making my selections from a sale section marked $ 9.99 and under I brought the games to counter. They both rung up at $ 13.49 I asked the guy if they were $ 9.99, he said no as if it was a stupid question… I explained that they were in a section marked $ 9.99 he said they weren’t $ 9.99. Point of the matter is, this place needs to hire some competent people who can either deal with problems or at least refer them to someone who can.

This store is a joke! I have no idea why they hire people with no gaming experience or knowledge. The workers acknowledge any customers besides the ones they are helping. We purchased a preowned game, returned home only to find out that they put the wrong game in the case.

T____T After spending a few hours searching for a Pikachu 3DSXL(it was sold out almost EVERYWHERE), I managed to locate one at this store and was so happy to hear that they were willing to put it on hold for me, despite it being their last unit and in high demand TvT ! The thing is, I live in Berkeley and am car-less, so it was going to take a while for me to get there(and it was on a Sunday so bus schedules are lousy)… but their nice employee(McGee) was really accommodating and happy to wait for me. So yeah, after a horrid three hour journey by Bart and bus –__-, I finally made it and aw yeah got my Pikachu: D

The Meh. I’ve experienced better category fits the bill here. I came here in search of the new Donkey Kong Country and a new remote for my Wii. What I found in this store was nothing less than a disaster zone. Imagine an earthquake just rattled the mall and inside this store a bunch of games fell of the shelves. Now imagine a dozen or so tweeny-bopper kids running around frantically, all trying to buy the same 3 or 4 games… get the picture? Anyway, I got what I wanted… and awesome new game and a new remote to replace one that broke. I think I would of been better off buying my game at sam’s club though, as they do give a few dollars off if you are a member there. 5 bucks off of 50 bucks is still 5 more dollars than I would of had, right? I will say though when checking out, the lady that rang me up was nice and commented on how much she liked the game I bought, so there is an extra star, but I would highly recommend coming here during the off hours(read: when kids are in school).

Its small, crowded, expensive, workers are kind of rude and not helpful… There are quite a few DS games that are cheap though. At least its not filthy and the demos work, unlike quite a few other locations.
