Our family has been receiving great advice and service from Cantrell’s Computer Sales and Service for several years. From desktops to laptops, our many repairs and upgrades have been successfully achieved! On most occasions, I have very little information to give the technicians about the problems I am facing, but they always seem to get down to the bottom of it. During a recent purchase Wade and his employees fielded my many concerns as I tried to discern which laptop would be the best for our circumstances. Always patient, my questions are consistently answered. I wish I could give more than 5 stars because Cantrell’s deserves them. They may not be able to answer everyone’s questions, needs and concerns exactly, but they will do their level best to help each customer make their best decision regarding upgrades, purchases and/​or repairs. Well worth you while before you make ANY kind of computer device purchase — you will make a better decision with their advice. Thank you for saving our family sanity several times with computer virus/​crash/​puzzling issues!

I had my computer repaired and everything was fine UNTIL prior to me leaving the store (the employee of course had to show me that everything is working fine before I leave), Shahab turned my computer on and the password prompt came up and he said «Oh, did you give me your password?» That remark was «very puzzling» because HE KNEW I gave him my password a week prior. Later on someone had told me that he DIDN’T need to ask for my password because he was only replacing the battery (that was the only thing wrong with it). I am very worried about identity theft and some stranger accessing my files and documents in my computer. The only reason why he asked for my password is to snoop around in my computer. Just because I’m young and female, he thought I wouldn’t suspect anything. I will never use this company again!

Although I ended up not needing a repair «Mike» took the time on the phone to help me (very computer challenged” get the sound working on my pc. He was extremely knowledgable and solved the problem within minutes. I would suggest this company to anyone needing computer work. It was very refreshing to deal with such a professional.

I have had a laptop serviced at Cantrell’s and when it was time to buy a new one, I bought it here because their service cannot be beat. I have recommended them to many and I have spoken with many who have had similar experiences such as I. I wouldn’t think of going elsewhere.

Needed a new (used) laptop and had very specific requirements. I needed a 17 inch macbook pro and was having a hard time finding one since apple stopped making one. I called Wade and within a few hours, he had found one at a price that I could afford. When the machine arrived, I was thrilled to see that the recharge count on the battery was sitting at zero. (new battery) Machine runs like a champ and does exactly what I need.
I never hesitate to refer people to Cantrells. I know that Wade and his staff will take care of whatever issues/​needs my referrals have and make me look like a hero in process.

I just plugged in my new Western Digital external hard drive that I purchased at Cantrell’s. Cantrell’s used this drive to transfer all of my data from a damaged Seagate drive where I have some 1.5 terabytes of mostly photo data. In the mix of all this, I lost my partner and the father to our 20-​month old child so didn’t have the where-​with-​all to deal with struggling to recreate my backed up photo library. My hope was that I would at the very least get part of my Aperture library back from the Seagate.
To my surprise, I finally got my new drive plugged in to see what data Shahab was able to pull off the Seagate and there, there to my delight, were ALL my photos in Aperture. I can’t tell you how relieved I was that I wouldn’t have to combine the backed up Aperture library with whatever Shahab was able to recover. It would have been so much work to do so, and even more so that I am trying to cope with the loss of my partner. These are the photos I will use to create the slideshow that will encapsulate his life. The emotion I felt when I saw that all those precious photos were right there on the new drive were enough to make me cry.
Thank you to the wonderful staff at Cantrell’s, and in particular Shahab who provided so much relief, particularly at this time in my life. I strongly recommend these guys for not only data recovery needs, but also purchasing of computer equipment. They gave me advice on what to purchase so I can hope to prevent such a loss again. Advice that you won’t get at any of the big box computer stores. And their prices are competitive.

I just purchased a workstation latop from Cantrell’s Computer Sales & Service. It is so nice not having to deal with the hassle and inexperience of the big box stores and supporting the «little guy» who gives you a much better personal experience (you don’t feel like «just a number»).
The staff was very friendly, knowledgable and very helpful in finding a good fit for my business needs.

These guys, every single one of them, are ‘golden’, from top to bottom. I’ve had multiple issues and multiple freak outs, and each time they have been knowledgeable, available and patient. I went through some wacky times with my ultrabook and ended up asking them to recommend a new computer for me: I will never buy again without their advice. They have replaced hard drives for me, re-​vamped a mac computer for my kids, updated routers… Through thick and thin with infinite patience while educating me too, if I wanted that. I wish all businesses had as much integrity as Cantrell’s

I cannot comment on how effective their computer repair skills are, since I did not need technical support — but I can comment on how their customer service is, which is to say that it is terrible. A few weeks ago I bought a new laptop and decided to sell my old one. Having known about Cantrell’s computers for a while I decided to skip the private market and have them make me an offer on the system. So I take it in. Not only was the shop disorganized, dirty, and filled with the carcasses of old systems, but there was barely any acknowledgement that I was there. After getting someone to assist me, I dropped of the laptop for the traditional evaluation. I was told that, due to the Thanksgiving holiday, it would take a little bit longer to get the system reviewed for purchase. Okay, fine. Two weeks go by and I have not heard anything so I start calling in. No-​one seemed to know what was going on with the system, and only after the third call did I confirm that it was indeed going to be purchased by them. However, a technician still needed a ‘final review’ to approve the purchase. So I wait again… another week goes by. This is now THREE+ WEEKS SINCE I DROPPED OFF THE SYSTEM FOR A SIMPLE YES/​NO ANSWER. So they decide to buy it, and I hear that I can come pick up a check from them any time after Tuesday that week. I call Tuesday — NO CHECK. The accountant was out? Ok. It will be ready by Thursday. I call again late Thursday — still I have to remind the techs on the phone who I am, why I am calling, and what I am referring to. STILL NO CHECK! So finally I am told it will be ready FOR SURE by the weekend, come in on the weekend. Well — I come in the late afternoon Sunday, and would you guess it? STILL NO CHECK. I am pissed at this point. Bad customer service, ZERO communication, ZERO coordination, unprofessional to say the least. This is FOUR WEEKS for a simple $ 80 check for an old laptop. This should have been a three-​four day process AT MOST. I threaten to take my laptop back and sell it privately, which finally spurs some action out of these jokers. They call the head boss and he SWEARS to me that a check will be mailed out on Monday. Well, Wendesday I finally get a check in the mail. They followed through on their word — FOR ONCE IN FOUR WEEKS. I swear, I will never do business with this place again. What a displeasing, unprofessional experience. I sure hope their computer repair skills are better than their customer service skills!

My Mac was very sluggish, so I scheduled a tune up with Cantrell’s. Within 2 hours of dropping off my computer they called with an update and recommendations. I did decide to increase my RAM (I’m pretty tech savvy and I know it wasn’t an up-​sell for no reason) I have tons of stuff on my hard drive, the price was affordable.
And Yay! My Mac is back!

My laptop battery went kaput a few days before a big presentation and or course all my documents and power points were only on that computer.
Wade at Computer Sales and Service was able to find and get me a battery within an hour and had it to me before my presentation.

I have purchased a custom built computer and an Epsom Printer in the past year from Computer Sales and Service. They guided me to just right products for my needs. My favorite part was the door-​to-​door delivery and installation in my home office. The technition was patient with my lack of skills, explained everything to me several times and got me up and running in one trip. Happy to recommend them to everyone.
PS. I was thrilled when the offered to eco-​recycle the old equipment for me!

I use them for all of my computer needs. It’s really nice to have people you can trust without long lines and long waits. Sometimes when something is going wrong with my system I just call the guys up and they usually have time to help me fix my computer issue over the phone with no charge.
The last time I bought a laptop there it was super affordable and they helped me work within my budget while still getting all the bells and whistles I needed to run my business.
I recommend using them over any of the large competitors who often have two week wait times just to get your computer in line for repair.

If you plan on getting your computer back quick, forget it, unless your willing to pay.
We had scheduled an appointment 3 times and on the 3^rd attempt we were told that we had been LINE JUMPED. They never called back to reschedule, but I will never use them again.

Gayle’s 5 year-​old Fujitsu laptop has progressively slowed down over time, and went over the edge after I loaded Norton 360 on it. It got so bad that we took it off, but we were already past the point of no return.
When we were in Portland a few weeks ago, we almost bought a new computer at Best Buy at Cascade Station (near PDX). After we got home, she got busy and I then decided to see if we could fix the machine. After Unilocaling around a bit (and immediately eliminating Fry’s), I took the Laptop to Computer Sales and Service. It’s just a short walk from the house (and across the street from Casper’s Hot Dogs).
The only caution about this place is that they’re a little open ended concerning when your machine will be ready to go. That of course depends on what’s lurking within your hard drive. In our non-​infected situation, the Fujitsu was in the shop for about a week, but the use of my Sony Vaio at home made sure that there was peace in the land.
The service itself was excellent, and the Laptop is now home and exceeding Gayle’s high standards. The thorough baseline service is $ 89 and I later decided to pay an extra $ 20 to enhance the RAM. The Technician had a rare combination of computer expertise, friendliness, patience, and a clear way of explaining things to this neophyte. I also appreciated the matter-​of-​fact way that he layed out the options, without pushing the sale, or preaching IT Armageddon if we didn’t chose wisely. He was also very conscious of the point where a computer purchase might be more cost efficient than further repair. I found it all very educational regarding what things were slowing the computer down, information on anti-​virus software and hard disks, and what refurbished machines options were available.
