I see reviews saying that the venue gets«over sold». No… the people taking tickets allow their friends who don’t have tickets to enter. I have seen this both times I was here(for The Roots and for Nicki Minaj). Also, what is the deal with the port-a-potties? This should be a venue where acts like Hanson or Belly perform… or other performers that nobody cares about anymore. If they’re going to have all these big names, they need to accommodate the people who are paying big to see them and I think that should include a proper bathroom. The«security» is a joke. They couldn’t tell anyone where the lines began and ended, or how long it would take to get thru the line. People were starting to complain and one bitch says, «it’s not our fault that you’re late!» Um, actually, it is. It took me less time to drive there(I live in Oakland) and find parking than it did for me to get thru the security lines.

Picture this: traffic to enter the venue is so bad that you sit there in your car pondering whether to sell your concert tickets on StubHub so you can turn around and escape the madness. One vehicle entrance at a venue capable of seating thousands and thousands, this just seems dangerous, not to mention inefficient and frustrating. Bottom line, this was not an appropriate venue to house a tour as popular as Luke Bryan, Dustin Lynch, and Little Big Town. Their event staff, parking layout, entrance, exit, and refreshment sales simply could not accommodate a crowd of this magnitude. It took roughly 45 minutes to travel by car from the adjacent neighborhood through the event gate(less than 2 miles). Once through the gate it felt as if the event staff had no authority over the cars driving in. Cars were merging wherever they saw fit and the staff didn’t bother to direct them; it was a chaotic mess. Exiting the car we discovered our dirt lot did not have an access path; instead we were shuffled up a steep grass hill(see my photos) to reach the nearby asphalt lot leading to the venue. There were multiple lines for bag check and ticket scanning, but they were all outrageously long and very slow moving. Once we finally made it in, we had missed the opening act, which was incredibly frustrating because this charade of getting in the parking lot and scanned into the venue took over an hour and a half. I have been to much larger scale music shows and have never encountered anything remotely as painful and unorganized. The venue itself was fine. I like that they have a grass general admission area; however, it is simply not large enough for the amount of tickets they sold. Getting in late, we had no choice but to sit on the outer perimeter of the grass by the dirt walkway. This was really unfortunate because the steep slope of the hill we were sitting on did not allow us a view of the stage; instead we had to watch the show on the large TV screens above. We did not use the restrooms or access the refreshment lines; however, judging from the other recent Unilocal reviews it sounds like they were a long and slow mess. We ended up leaving the show early because we feared the exodus process would be a disaster. Will I ever return to this venue? NO! I’ll be picking the next tour stop on the list. Tip: you are allowed to bring in food!

I go to concerts all across the country… I have never experienced a venue as unorganized or poorly designed for the number of people! I wanted to get a drink and hot dog prior to the concert… I stood in that line for 45 minutes and actually missed the entire 1st act… I paid for pit tickets but they over sold the area so that it was uncomfortable… I paid for VIP parking and found out that they have absolutely no traffic control and spent another hour just getting out of the parking lot! I will not return.

This is a great outdoor venue out in the middle out of Concord. Came here one time when Earth, Wind and Fire came to perform and it was one of the coolest shows I’ve ever seen. There is a large stage, mosh pit area, then standing/sitting area, upper yard and then the lawn area. We had lawn tickets which was great because we could see the entire venue and the evening stars and moon during the evening hours. It can get rather cold during those hours so make sure to bring a jacket or blankets to stay warm. They have their own parking lot which is great, they also have alcohol and snack areas and a great clean bathrooms instead of porta pottys like most outdoor venues. Over all one of my favorite venues in the area and if your favorite artists decides to come here to perform you won’t be disappointed that you came to this venue!

You have to hike up a slight hill from the parking lot to get to the venue. It’s outdoors, so you may want to bring extra layers or sunblock depending on what season you are going. There’s a lawn area in the back if you are looking for more affordable seats. Overall, it was relatively clean, enough space, and had food+ alcohol options. Granted I’m sure the experience may change depending on who you are seeing there(we saw Idina Menzel)

Went to Frankie Beverly concert. Comedians filled in an hr of time… what a waste. Terrible! Unorganized, very confusing parking configuration. Staff was rude. Not a very clean place. Crowd was very Ghetto. Avg time in line for drinks: 20 mins. Opt for a cleaner venue… keep your wallet in your sock.

This is a great location for us — really close to home and occasionally some big bands come through. We love coming here for concerts in the summer and fall, when the evenings are still nice and warm. It’s worth a couple extra dollars to get seats and we’ve never had a problem leaving our bags of food/drinks at the seats while we explore. There isn’t a lot to explore — only a couple places to get food/drinks and one stage. Mercury insurance offers their customers free VIP parking which can be up to $ 40 otherwise. They also do an unlimited fresh popcorn deal now. Bring your sunscreen for daytime shows(and early evening)! You can also bring water/sodas if they’re unopened.

Be prepared to walk. From the parking lot to the venue, there’s hills you gotta walk up to get there. So ladies be cautious before you decide to wear heels to an event here!

Location: Located in the hills in the middle of nowhere Management: Has the worst check-ins. We arrived on time for Chris Brown’s One Hell of a Nite concert but it took us about an hour and a half to get in — which in the end, made us miss the first half of the show. Also, there were no specific lines available to everyone, lots of people crowded together all hoping to get in — it was hot, people fainted, people threw up — it was just intolerable. Although we managed to catch Chris Brown’s performance, but half way through some people were accusing/yelling at us for sitting in their seats. This place should have security or someone in each aisle to make sure people are sitting in the right places because it was not pleasant having random people shout in your face for no reason. Parking: Terrible. Though it was free, there weren’t any signs to show us where to park. Cars were just all over the place because no one was really sure of where to park. Maybe parking was free because the distance between the lot and the concert was hella far; basically, we had to hike up the hill just to check-in. Venue: Visuals and sound system was pretty good. Though, they should really get bigger screens because their«big screens» aren’t big at all. All in all, Chris Brown was amazing because he is my all-time celebrity crush! But definitely would not come back or recommend anyone to come because apart from the concert, my whole experience was just horrible.

SLOWEDTCONCESSIONSTANDSINTHEWORLD! Come and see the wonders of how slow the line can be! Not an exaggeration: I missed the entire second act waiting to get a soda. The sound is okay. Place is kind of weird. Rocks shows filled with old people, which doesn’t bother me except that they also move slow. Everything about this place is slow. I aged by 10 years here.

Hour line for Chris Brown concert. Everyone in the line who arrived on time missed two hours of the show already. A riot almost started, people started screaming at the cops, everyone started pushing… As for the concert itself, it was okay. Chris Brown and other performances were fantastic, but the crowd around us were not nearly as pleasant. Everyone was smoking, there were people who were yelling at other people in front of them or at people who took their seats, people obviously slipped through the staff to get seats in the front, and there was garbage everywhere. Not coming back here again.

If I had written this review last year I probably would’ve given this venue 2 – 2 ½ stars… Last year I attended Hot Summer Nights at this venue… and it was LITERALLY a hot summer night. It was over a hundred degrees. It took us about I wanna say an hour to an hour and a half to get in. That didn’t even include the extra 30 – 45 minutes just to get in the parking lot cus of all the traffic. This really sucked because we missed Next’s performance. There were no specific/obvious lines available to everyone so tons and tons of people were just crowded in one huge blob all hoping to get through. It was especially unbearable because of the hot weather at the time. Luckily, we chose seats that were in the shade. I literally have no patience whatsoever in the sun… but of course the music made up for it. When I found out Chris Brown’s One Hell of A Nite Tour was going to be at this venue, I was already dreading the long wait to get in way before I even got there. I was actually so surprised/impressed that they improved their check-in process so it was definitely more quick and efficient compared to my last visit. The only thing though… you kinda had to hike to get to the check-in cus the venue’s literally in the middle of nowhere. Had a much better time this time around for sure! The music ALWAYS makes up for it — Chris Brown was amazing!!! I forgot to mention… parking is free! :)

Parking– horrible, oversold. Arrive 430pm. Parking lot was full. Diverted to University parking lot. Arrive at parking lot walked to end of the shuttle bus line and stood in line along with 200 other people in the sun– very warm day! Arrived at Pavillon– horrible, oversold. Not a place to sit on the grass. Overcrowded. Sound system– horrible! So much muffled, couldn’t understand the entertainers. So much feedback thought I was in a garage party! Concord Pavilion– why don’t you have big screens for such a time of the overcrowding, oversold concerts you promote? Concessions– horrible. Too many people translate too many long lines. Not enough workers in concessions stands to accommodate the overcrowding oversold concert! Shuttle back– horrible. Why did I have to wait in line for over 30 minutes for the shuttle bus to drive us back to University parking? Because you(Concord Pavilion) could not find the bus drivers! Concord Pavilion– You do not value your customers! The bottom line is your revenue. Accommodating people, customer service and reputation is what you LACK!

Saw 5sos with my two teens. The drive was super easy from Dixon CA to Concord, we left early *3pm, parking opened at 5; we figured there would be traffic. We got there in less than an hour, and there was no traffic, but it was a Tuesday. Parking was super easy, but we did pay for the première parking, but that’s to be expected in the bay area. If you don’t want to pay $ 40 for parking, and if you don’t mind walking and walking up a hefty incline, PARKINGISFREE! :) As others stated, the place is kind of, «Interesting!» You can’t see a dang thing until you get up and around the hill, it reminded me of teletubbie land with all of the hills and far away; the Pavilion is quite hidden. Sound was excellent, seats were better than expected; I saw good and bad reviews for all, but we liked the cup holders, sound was awesome, view was good. The monitors on either side of the stage weren’t as large as at Levi Stadium(where we saw a 1D concert a we saw 10 days prior), but they were extremely clear, so clear that I just kept watching the monitor, forgetting that the actually guys were down on stage(We sat in 202G) Don’t let the G fool you! The rows start at the stage and head to the back-AA thru ZZ and Start again at A… we were surely further back, there are maps on a few websites, and if you click on the map, it will enlarge it so it’s more detailed with seating on some sites, one site I really like is , that’s what I use when I want to see how close the seats are, and also Unilocal!I looked at a lot of pics from different views to get an idea of where seats were if I wanted to upgrade, but I am glad I just did it. It really was a great time, and the view is good from anywhere from what I could see. We spent a lot on money for lemonade $ 6 ea. and waters $ 4.50 ea. but, you are allowed to bring your own bottle water if you prefer, some people brought the small lunch coolers, but there are limits as to what you can bring in. It was pretty hot, so we wanted to stay hydrated. The toughest part was exiting, but that wasn’t even bad, it still didnt take us more than an hour and a half to get home and that was waiting for traffic to clear up some, but the line went fast. Things I would do again, or next time: GETTHEREEARLY EXPECTTOHAVEBAGSSEARCHED GET A FASTPASS(if you don’t like waiting in line :) CHECKLOCATIONOFSEATSBEFOREYOUBUY EATBEFOREYOUGO, and take snacks :) TAKEBOTTLEWATER MERCHANDISEISNOTCHEAP! but who expects it to be! :) PLANPLANPLAN :)

Never thought that I’d see a concert way out in Concord. But I did. Went to see Smashing Pumpkins & Marylin Manson. Took a while to get here because of the rush hour commuter traffic. We left Berkeley and took us an hour to get there. Parking is free, which is a major bonus. Oracle Arena is way more expensive with their event parking? The funny thing being our first time, as you drive in, you question, so where is this venue? You don’t see anything but yellow hills all around you. The venue is located on the other side of the hill. Hands down it is a mini Shoreline. Now the Pavilion. It is so clean. I liked the bathrooms, fully stocked with what looked like guards making sure men don’t go in. Lines weren’t too long to grab a beer or pretzel. I think it is best to pay for a seat. The lawn is super small compared to Shoreline. My other beef is that they don’t have button for a side of nacho cheese at the concession stand. How can you not have a side option for pretzels? Overall, I think I would go back here to watch a concert if the right band was playing. Hope they figure out that extra cheese soon. :)

I do like this venue. Have seen many concerts from John Mayer to most recently, Van Halen. Since the amphitheater is pretty local, this is the go to spot whenever big artists are in town. My only wish is to have better sound in the Lawn Seating area. Yes, if I wanted a true, amazing concert experience, I should purchase tickets closer, but I’m okay where I sit in the lawn. Food prices are pretty reasonable, but drinks are of course priced to break our wallets. Restrooms and misc facilities are kept pretty clean and stocked. Really do not have too much to complain about. This is definitely not the greatest venue, but I’m glad it’s here so that I can listen to some great music.

Located in the hills of Concord, the Pavillion is a Bay Area outdoor music staple and a great place to catch your favorite jazz, R&B and soul/neo soul artists.(I used to attend the annual ‘Hot August Nights’ concerts when I lived here). It’s a great alternative to the Shoreline Amphitheater, as it’s closer to those who live in the east Bay and ticket pricing is sometimes a bit cheaper. The Concord Pavillion is also a bit more lax, as far as what they allow you to bring inside. Coolers are acceptable as long as they aren’t on wheels. Food and beverages must be in plastic and unopened. This is great because the food offerings are slim and overpriced as you would expect. Hot dogs, fries, garlic fries, popcorn, cotton candy, frozen lemonade, etc. But, many events will have food truck alternatives. I was last here in October 2008 for the Robin Thicke and Mary J. Blige concert and enjoyed myself. That’s the best time of year, as it’s still pretty warm during this time of year, but not unbearable in the unshaded spots. This time, I went for the annual KBLX Stone Soul concert in May. The weather was perfect, although it got really hot for the first two hours or so. I absolutely cannot do the lawn seating here because there’s absolutely NOSHADE. And it’s always overcrowded. The event started at noon, but if you’re on the lawn, you have to be there early(like 8 a.m.) in order to get decent seating. I’m over that long trek from the parking area to the inside while carrying chairs and stuff. No Bueno. It was fun in my teens and early 20s, though. Parking prices vary, but this time it was FREE99. That’s not always the case so beware. The event started on time and every act showed up. We left around 9 p.m. exhausted, but in good spirits. No one acted a fool, at least not in the section that I was seated in. Perhaps because it was generally a mature crowd. They didn’t monitor seating as strict as they have in the past, which was good for those with lesser-priced tickets trying to ‘seat up,’ but it was a bit annoying to have to keep allowing seat hoppers to pass by. It’s all good, though. I’m always down to come here whenever I’m home.

Located in basically the pit of the Concord hills, the Concord Pavilion provides a home to music lovers living in the far east bay area. I’ve only seen two concerts here, and I’m just happy we have a venue close to home. It isn’t my favorite because concerts on windy days don’t do justice to the sound of the musicians. However, it’s still a great place when your favorite artists come to town. Entrance to the amphitheater is a tad unorganized as the line usually extends into and around the parking lots. During the summer months, waiting in line for a concert is brutal. Sahara desert status. Arizona/New Mexico/Death Valley — you name it. It gets hot, hot, HOT. Because this is an outdoor venue, I do suggest bringing a light jacket depending on which season you happen to attend a concert. Parking has always been free for me, and I think you only have to pay if you choose to park closest to the entrance… not like it matters since the end of the line is usually far away. Either way, get ready for a fun night falling in love with the melodic sounds of your favorite songs.

Went to two concerts this summer at the Concord Pavilion. Once for Journey /Steve Miller Band and for Zac Brown Band last Thursday. The venue is nice and free parking is always good. The seating and the acoustics are good. The lawn area is smaller then Shoreline. Minus stars for the food and drink concessions. The food is uneatable. Eat before or after the concert. Drinks are hit and miss. Plus stars for the restrooms.
