My 10-year-old son has been taking Aikido at Aikido of Diablo Valley for three months now and he loves it – in fact, he says it’s the best decision he’s ever made. The teachers are kind and patient and give plenty of one-to-one attention, and the price is very reasonable – the owner is clearly doing this out of love for Aikido, and not to make money. I enjoy going there because the Sensei is always interesting and fun to talk to, and the space is calm and peaceful, unlike any other martial art studio I’ve been to. We have been a taekwondo family until now(my 12-year-old son is a second degree black belt), and find Aikido to be refreshingly gentle and contemplative, while still being active and very engaging.

If you are not familiar with Aikido but would like to learn a martial art that is effective while training with friendly people that are eager to help you become a better martial artist this is a great place to go. I have been attending Aikido of Diablo Valley since 2002 and have learned some wonderful things. Beginners are always welcome and advanced students are sure to get some good training. Just come in and visit or call and ask.
