My business partner and myself started A&J Hauling in 2009 because we wanted a company that was truly a «land fill diversion» company. We wanted to be the one company in the Bay Area that stood out from the rest from the recycling stand point. Becoming a certified electronic waste collector in the State of California, we recycle all electronic waste. We also recycle all metals, paper, cardboard as well as contaminated woods with stain and paint! We recycle all metals as well as all appliances to keep them out of the landfill.

amazing guys, came right on time and was in and out in over 15 mins. i only had two couches to get rid of and they charged me wayyyyy less than their competitors. they were sweet, talking to me and making me feel comfortable, even playing with my cat. would totally recommend to others!

John gave me a quote through Unilocal within minutes of my request. He set up an appointment for the following week.
The day of my appointment was really smooth. Bob called before he arrived and he was really patient and friendly with me which was really helpful because I’ve been stressed over moving cross country.
It took about 25 – 30 minutes to remove my ¼ load from my townhouse. I’m really pleased with this company and if I had to choose. I’d choose them again.
Great customer service overall and they had the best price over the other hauling companies I was quoted from.

I had a lot of stuff to be hauled away as I am moving. Called and left a message. My call was returned in less than 30 minutes. Scheduled a pickup. They were on time and even called to say they were on the way. Three guys arrived and wasted no time in loading their truck. They worked hard and were friendly yet professional. We needed a bunch of junk hauled away, including an old mattress and a 1970s sofa bed that weighs 8,000 lbs (approximately). My honey did some research and determined that A&J Hauling was a good fit for us. They were very easy to work with and, most importantly, they hauled away our junk! $ 200 and maybe 10 minutes later… all our junk was gone!

These guys are great. Super: professional, punctual, courteous and efficient. They return calls right away, charge a totally reasonable fee, and dang – they even do a lot more than hauling away your grandma’s 50-​year old mattress, your inefficient toilet just sitting in the side yard, and your ratty lumber odds and ends.
I learned (by reading the signage on their truck when they were here) that they also do bobcating (not sure what that is, but sounds like it involves dirt and big machinery), they recycle materials when they can; they even break up and remove concrete.
So seriously, the next time I have a problem involving big «stuff» of some sort that I want to get rid of, I will totally hire these guys again. I’m glad there’s a legit/​licensed, & small family-​type business alternative that I can call, instead of just big chain haulers out there.

My wife and I did a garage clean-​out on the three day Fourth of July weekend. We had found that, unfortunately, a mouse had gotten into the loveseat and chair that we had intended to sell at our upcoming garage sale. Now I needed to get rid of the two items.
I called A&J Hauling, and JP (the «J» in A&J) immediately picked up the phone. They were booked three days out, and quoted me their minimum charge of $ 100 to pick up and haul away the furniture. I booked the appointment and asked that I be given a phone call 20 minutes ahead of their arrival time so I could drive from my office to my house.
The day of the appointment, I got the call and was told that the crew would arrive at my place 20 minutes later. I went home and the two guys (led by Danny) arrived right on time. I asked if I could throw in a handful more items in addition to the two pieces of furniture, to which Danny agreed at no extra charge. I paid up, was given a receipt and they were on their way within ten minutes.
I give A&J Hauling five stars because of responsiveness, courtesy and ease of doing business. I’ll use then again.

Called them in the morning and somebody actually answered the phone! And they weren’t weird. I called a couple of other places and people would either not pick up or answer the phone and just say «what?». They were polite even though I hemmed and hawed about whether or not to have them come. Fast, efficient, reasonable priced, and above all excellent customer service. Somebody came within hours of my phone call, same day :)

Danny and his crew did an amazing job. First they dis-​assembled a large backyard shed and hauled it away. Then they came back a few days later to jack-​hammer a huge amount of concrete. They were always on-​time, highly communicative and nice guys. Best part is that they consistently quoted me the lowest prices of anyone else I talked to. Highly recommended.

Had them come out to remove some junk after clearing out my house and backyard. They were quick and easy to schedule, on time, professional, and left the driveway completely clean. Met one of the guys that runs A&J Hauling at a BBQ a few weeks back. I had a fence replacement coming up so I took his number. Contacted him on a Friday that I was looking for pick up of my old fence either the following Monday or Tuesday. He gives me a time of time of Monday (the date of this review) between 10am and 12am. I ask him to text me about 30 min before they plan on being their so I don’t have to leave work for 2 hours. Phone rings Monday at 9:20am, «on our way, bout 30 min out». I guess A&J Hauling doesn’t like making people wait. Guys show up, they are friendly, look at what I got, and give me a price. They price they gave me was a lot less than what the other guy quoted me.
As a new homeowner that plans on doing more future home projects, I will be using A&J Hauling for all my debris removal needs. They show up on time, they know what they are doing, they got the job done fast and didn’t leave stuff behind. Businesses like A&J Hauling are hard to find these days.

You call and they haul, can’t get anymore simple than that. I had an old couch where the middle was sagging so bad that it felt like I was sitting on the ground. I was thinking about just throwing the couch in the dumpster at my apartment complex, but felt like I should do the right thing and get it hauled away.
This lead me to search for a local hauling company and I found their website at
which had a page where it lets you request a haul. Afterwards, I had a call from them to let me know the cost and a time that they would come out to pick up the decrepit couch. A small dump truck came out as scheduled and two guys hauled the couch away.
All in all, the price was reasonable and the service was great. I highly recommend them for any hauling job and will be using their service again in the future.
