Concur about avoiding this company for cross-​country moves! Horrible packing job, antique furniture damaged & pieces broken off that I hope can be glued back on, etc. In addition they packed things I specifically told them NOT to! And they had the gall to charge almost $ 2000 for the «privilege» of their services! Books were not packed in book boxes which meant they were loosely packed for maximum damage to the books & charging for more materials than necessary, thus taking advantage of my 90 year old father. Will be demanding a refund of at least $ 1000. I would prefer to f ive a ZERO rating but Unilocal won’t let me.

Unfortunately for my family, Mark Thompson’s firm was the subcontractor hired by ABF MoveBuilder to pack and load my furniture and boxes late last month. My family was relocating from Columbus OH to Houston TX. ABF dropped off a 27 ft trailer and MoveBuilder hired Thompson to provide labor on the 27^th of December. The crew was late — Mr. Thompson coolly told me it was because the 26^th was a business holiday and they hadn’t picked up the packing materials from a local resource prior to the Xmas weekend. The crew of 4 began work at 10:30am and then took a full lunch in mid afternoon. This meant they worked into the dark (I suggested they turn on my garage lights when I found them trying to pack in the dark post 5pm). Here’s my problem: 7 items were damaged upon receipt a week later and in each case improper packing was to blame. Now, my claims will be submitted to ABF MoveBuilder. But let me tell you how Thompson failed to wrap ends of furniture and secure these with tape. Also upholstured cushions were tossed into the trailer unwrapped when I was inside my house — so they were filthy upon arrival in Texas — why not wrap or pack the cushions? Basically the last 10 feet of the pack were a mess. I have many photos I’ve shared with ABF all taken when I met my trailer January 5^th. The first 10 feet were fine — but all the damage was in the crew’s rush to finish their work late in the day. If you need your things to travel a distance, please consider another moving firm. I certainly didn’t expect to have my things treated so poorly.
