You want a new look but you don’t want to go to some girlie shop or some old men’s barber shop? Then it’s time for something different — Gina’s in Grandview.
Great service and style consultation from Holly. Done in a reasonable amount of time, efficient and personable. Great pricing. Hip location, cool, comfortable interior. Great range of styling products from American Crew to Layrite.

I have been searching for a hair stylist for awhile since my favorite moved away. I finally found the place! My hair is thick, and was long and way out of shape. I decided I needed a change but was really hesitant since I have had several bad hair cuts lately in my search for a salon. I saw the reviews here on Unilocal and decided to take the chance and am so glad I did! Amity did an excellent job and I will definitely will be going back!

I have been getting my hair done here for a couple years. I randomly started going there when I lived in Grandview. Beth is awesome! She always does a great job with my color and cutting my hair which is important because I have difficult hair! I like the local flair of the Ohio and local art on the walls, and I absolutely love that this place is laid back and is nothing like the stuffy, snooty upscale salons! Also I can usually get an appointment last minute which is good for my disorganized self.

I am picky about my hair — I have to be! I love the femininity of wearing it long and it’s that delicate area between wavy and curly that so easily just ends up in Frizz City. Add to that the fact that I act, so there are times I’m literally not allowed to cut it and the fact it’s fine in texture but crazy thick… I’m sure I’m no treat for stylists. I’ve had a couple I liked in the past, most recently one at one of the«major» salon chains in the area who was expensive and literally told me she would not do my wedding hair if I didn’t do what she said for the whole year leading up to the event — I looked great on the day, but years later I still felt I was being judged for who knows what. Enter Beth. She cut my hair the first time because I’d hit the spot where I didn’t really want to shell out and feel judged, so the husband talked me into going with him. She is the nicest person, listens to what I want and I walk out feeling great every time. Great style. + judge-free zone? I’m hooked!

This place is great! The atmosphere is comfortable and the location is easy to get to! Everyone who works there is laid back & relaxed(not pretentious, like so many other salons). Amity is really excellent. She does a great job & is fast! The person who previously did my hair took 3.5 hours(ugh), Amity gets it done in 1.5 hours(yay) & costs $ 50 less!

There are times they have difficulty cutting my style of hair and I end up paying way to much for something I’m not sure what they did. They are open until 6 pm. When called at 5 pm I was told over the phone that 5:30 is too late for a walk-in. Although I’ve been there until 6 pm when people walked in at 5:45 pm. I wish they would put a sign and update the web site that should say –they only accept walk-in until a certain time.(walk-ins until 5 pm) This person over the phone, didn’t try to smooth things over with me or even suggest for me a weekend walk-in. She was just was just irritated that I would even think of even coming in at 5:30 pm. Update 7⁄2015: Recently I’ve called and scheduled late appointments and they were very helpful and very courteous this time around. I received an awesome consultation, by sharing that I was starting a new job, so I needed a freshened up hair do. So I got a great relaxing hair wash and a updated my hair style. I appreciated the service from on the phone and at my appointment in person. The only con I would mention at this point, is that when you walk in through the front door, no one even looks up to acknowledge you to say a friendly Hello, it made me feel out of place, almost like I wasn’t welcome. But when it was my turn, that’s when I felt welcomed.
