History

Established in 2012.

Shift™ began in the summer of 2012 as the continued home of a studio with a long history in the teaching of movement arts. It began with WiseWays® Yoga, which Michele Mangione, Ph. D developed and began teaching in the late 1990s. Over the years it also became the home to forms of taiji (tai chi) with Lucy Bartimole. Today, Shift continues to build on these popular offerings with Morning Meditation, Nia, Tai Chi for Arthritis, Power Half Hour, Qigong, SuppleBody, PowerBody.

Meet the Business Owner

Lucy B.

Business Owner

Lucy is a certified personal trainer who works with people who have Parkinson’s, MS, Rheumatoid Arthritis, extreme pain and weight issues, exercise phobias and/​or a general dislike for personal trainers. She loves them all.

She has been teaching tai chi and mindfulness for 15 years. She has a lifetime certification from the Guang Ping Yang Tai Chi Association where serves as Executive Vice President/​President Elect. She won the 2005 gold medal in the San Diego Grand National Championship for Guang Ping Yang tai chi. She holds a certification in Tai Chi for Arthritis, and she is a registered yoga teacher (RYT-​200) as awarded by Yoga Alliance.

Lucy is married to Brad Campbell, and they have two fantastic teenagers, a cat named Buddy, Calvin the dog, Chester the guinea pig, and many unnamed basement spiders.
