Pastimes Pub & Grill – New Albany

Service is great, no problem their. But when you claim to be a BROWNS BAR, the sound should be on!!! It’s my team and I am a proud BROWNIE. Pastimes just screwed me. Gotta run to another bar, I am a regular. Never posted the Browns were suddenly less important than some other team.

Clean place and great space, plenty of large TV’s around and very friendly people. Solid food menu for the dining option or late night snack.

I’ve been coming here often as my biffy lives in the apartment complex adjacent to the shopping center. Fair prices on booze, decent bar eats but the sunshine happens when Taylor is working. She remembers our drinks and has them queued up when we sit down. Great little bar for trivia, juke and hanging out with good friends. The patio is amazing in the warm weather and as it cools down we bundle up to keep the season going :)

Pastimes has really turned around the last year or so. I have lived in the area a couple of years. The first few months I lived here I avoided the place after a couple bad experiences. I either didn’t know what I was missing, or I was just here at the worst possible times. Either way, my mistake.
The staff is way better than you would expect for the atmosphere. As an occasional service industry professional myself, I can tell you that I am consistently impressed with the staff here. That’s saying something.
They remember my drink order every time. All of them. Every time. It’s not a slow bar either. Even when I don’t come around for a couple months, they remember my drinks when I come back. Crazy good service.
Pastimes has good food. It’s bar food, but it’s good. I would rather eat wings here than at BW3. No joke. It’s good. I also recommend eating a burger here. My frequent order is a burger with Jack cheese, jalapeños, and bacon. Super solid. Tots are better than fries.
There are ONLY two things I have to complain about. First, I would love a little awning on the patio. I smoke. It would be nice to not get rained on. A space heater for the winter would also be exceptional.
Lastly, the last time I was in we couldn’t get the server we wanted. Taylor is BY FAR the best server here. Way nice, personable, and always takes care of us. Apparently she was cut when we arrived and even though she had other tables seated still, we couldn’t get her as our server. Taylor is awesome. Sit in her section if you can.
I would have given my updated review five stars if not for this experience last time I was here. Apparently, Taylor even asked if she could stay on with us in her section. No dice according to her manager. Disappointed, but of course, I will be back.

Great bar and I was surprised by how good the burger was, it was charbroiled and they had loads of toppings to choose from. Great fries too and lot of drink specials. We have been back several times.

My husband and I went here because it just looked so inviting. They have a wonderful outside patio. It was a warm yet slightly breezy night. We sat on the patio. My husband ordered the grouper sandwich. We love fresh grouper while we’re in Florida so we weren’t to sure since it is frozen. We were pleasantly surprised. The grouper was fried and delicious. I ordered their build your own burger. It was dry delicious as well. When siting out in the patio it is a good idea to alert a server to let them know. They get really busy and they appreciate it. No one wants to be left sitting for awhile. The servers were prompt and friendly. This place is really good. Only problem we had wasn’t with the staff just that some rude people decided to stand right behind our table and smoke so their smoke went into us. They could have stood along the railing and that wouldn’t interfered with us and other people eating on the patio. Prices were reasonable good food good service. Good place to go with friends or on a date.

Good place for food since everything else closes early in this neighborhood. Wings are legit but give you one dipping sauce for ½ or full pound of wings. Petty I know but also act like cheap asses and charge you for an extra. MOST of the staff is friendly but some are really slow and inattentive most of the time as if they could care less about a tip. Caution when ordering anything other than bottled beer. Watch them wash bar glasses and you’ll understand. I have a video and experienced the result of the half ass dish sink in action… Gross.

Bar staff is horrible. Super slow and unfriendly. Food is horrible, very basic bar food. Nothing special and not fresh.

Pastimes is a fun restaurant. My only problem is how far it is from me but besides that small problem it’s great! I love the pizza and wings and the wings are great for a football or baseball game. It’s at a great location and I love New Albany so this is a great place to go to. Employees were VERY nice, and great food!!! I highly recommend it if you are looking for a fun night and some great food.

I really enjoy going to Pastimes. I hadn’t realized, but there are a handful of locations in the Columbus area. It’s a great place to go to watch an OSU game. There is always a crowd. Everyone gets excited when there is a goal and commiserate when the other team scores.
Plan to come early, because the seating is first-​come-​first serve and once the game starts the seating is limited. The service is great. Although our server usually over-​checks on us — I would rather have that than never seeing our server.
The beer list is extensive and the food is delicious. I love their tater tot appetizer.

Pastimes is right up the street from my place in New Albany and it is a great place to go for sports — especially on NFL Sundays. There are no hassles to get your game on tv and there are plenty of HD screens. On Sundays, it’s $ 0.49 cent wings and $ 1.75 Yuengling. I’ve eaten there a few times and the food is just okay. There are tons of wing flavor choices but it is a dry rub and the meat is a little tough. But for neighborhood bar food, it isn’t bad. The service is very good and the staff leaves you alone to watch the game without nagging the whole time for more food and drink. But overall the bar is spacious and you can sit at the bar or get a table.

Great bar. Excellent service, great bar food and great beer selection. I’m a huge IPA fan but if I’m going for quantity I go with the $ 1.75 yuengling pint draft. Can’t beat it. It’s become a regular stop for me as the goat has become increasingly expensive and less good.

Got together for lunch. We all ordered different items from the menu. Everything was excellent! I’ve been back several times. I wish they had more low tables. The bar/​waitress was great! I will definitely go back.

Pastimes is located close to me, but I really dont have a good experience there. The food is ok, the drink specials are decent, but the atmosphere is uncomfortable. Unless I go with a big group to cheer on a popular team, I feel like an outsider.

Seriously, this place is terrible. The bartenders are super-​trashy and the last time I was in they added extra $$ to my tip that I didn’t approve. They took care of it when I called them back but seriously that is sketchy. Won’t be coming back EVER!

The atmosphere is pretty good, cool place to watch an OSU game. Got the Buffalo Chicken Dip appetizer, pretty terrible. I make better off the back of the Franks bottle. The wings, on the other hand, were very good. And the sandwiches my friends and I had were delicious. The ongoing problem seems to be the service, we got good service when seated at the bar but if we are ever at a table it’s been mediocre at best. The worst is when trying to get a drink at the bar. They seem to be perpetually understaffed.
Still, Pasttimes is definitely the best of the 2 bars in this strip mall.
