Hyatt Regency Columbus

Quick notes for the Hyatt Regency Columbus:
1^st stay was for an IT business competition back in vocay school. I fell in love with my current husband here and it was great. One thing the elevators were slow. The rest was nice. :)
2^nd stay was for Ohayocon and the elevator speed has improved, still slow, but way better. The rooms are nicer now as well has having pretty good wifi. They use Ruckus and Cisco. One thing though on the free tier remote desktops weren’t working well. The rooms are very nice though and the beds were comfy. Great place to crash after the con :) No real complaints about the rooms other than the lack of a fan/​vent in the bathroom for BG noise and to let the smells out. The lobby was nice, and the staff were great. Too bad they had a leak though :(hope the place is ok! The guy at the front desk was very nice and even covered our valet charge which was super cool and nice! They also ran the con stuff quite well and it was an awesome fluffy, fun time we had at Ohayocon and I miss it allready!

Visited hotel to watch my Portland Timbers beat the Columbus Crew in the MLS CUP.
Good:
Great location with easy check in and great diamond breakfast.
Bad:
Older hotel and very stuffy. Ordered room service and never showed up. Hotel comped us lunch the next day to make up for it.

Beautiful hotel. Rooms are clean and updated.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
Very close to all kinds of entertainment in the area. From restaurants to sporting events.
Great place for a getaway.

Stayed here with my mom for the Hot Chocolate 15K last weekend. Nice place to stay, but difficult to park in.
We arrived about 2:30 pm and you pull into the turn around from the street, but it gets backed up easily since there’s not a whole lot of space. There’s a parking garage off chestnut street that does validated parking, $ 18 for self park, $ 20 something for valet parking. You can have your bags taken in and park or park and take them in yourself. Check in was fairly quick and painless and we headed up to our room. You could choose higher or lower floor, whichever your preference was. Restaurants on one the second floor or connected to the hotel. Easy access to the convention center. Close to the arena district (walking distance)
Rooms were a good size, plenty of space. They have fridges in them for any left over food. Bathrooms were decent sizes as well. Clean and well kept.
Check out was a breeze, you could do it on the internet or your phone if you didn’t want to wait downstairs

No complaints. I was here for work, where we held our small annual conference (~600 people). It rained heavily for a few days while we were there, and the windowed ceiling near the convention center, by the small coffee shop would leak when it was very strong. That wasn’t a big issue, but many of our attendees complained about the dampness and mildewy smells in some of the meeting rooms and I noticed it in that area by the coffee shop. I realize it’s not something that can be easily or quickly corrected, but I hope management plans to redo that area soon.

This hotel has nice beds and a wonderful view of the city, but don’t lose your receipt if you are on business the hotel will not give you another one. After talking to several people I found this to be disheartening that there was «Nothing they can do to email me another receipt».
I also found there to be mold in the bathroom, carpets not vacuumed well and my TV blacked out and I had to keep shutting it off, neither did the IHOME/​IPOD/​Clockradio work. The room was too hot for my liking even when the «air-​conditioned» room temp was set on 60 degrees, you can only put the fan on, No actual air.
Overall, if you can overlook these minor details. It is a convenient location to the arena district and the North Market all within walking distance. parking seems to be far away but with the skywalk, its just a few minute walk.

Great customer service, beautiful and clean room. Front desk person made an honest mistake and wrote the wrong room number on my access card. I had to go back down to the lobby to get it fixed. I wasn’t upset, told her it was no problem. Found 6 chocolate ‘buckeyes’ (dessert) and a hand written apology note in my room an hour later. Wow. So nice!

Tremendously disappointed with this hotel. Room was not worth the price. Wall paper was peeling. The breakfast bar was an equal let down. Definitely not worth the price.

I’ve stayed here twice now (For Origins 2014 and 2015) and both times have been a fan. The staff is incredibly helpful, and the hotel is clean and shiny. The rooms are very good — however I will say that the double-​room beds are not *nearly* as comfortable as the King size beds. They are just «okay» and not amazing.

Great look and the room is nice. Very close to everything. Nice customer service. Doormen weren’t very friendly or professional looking. Would stay again.

Rooms are really nice and comfortable! I stayed here for a conference and it was nice that the hotel is attached to the conference center. The pool was the saddest I’ve ever seen, but I would guess that most people staying here don’t really have time to visit the pool. As I said though, the rooms were really comfortable, especially the beds! I didn’t have any issues checking in and out, and would certainly love to come back here be it for a conference or otherwise.

The Hyatt is a great place to host events. I have been to so many happy events here from weddings to organizational events. The only thing that throws me off each time is why the bathrooms are located on different levels and not the level you have the event at.
I always have had events on the third floor because of the convenience of that space. For instance, today’s event the Purple Teen Party was on the third floor but you would have not known that if the hotel did not put signs out directing you there. Actually I didn’t get a sign I had a person directing me to that floor.
Parking can be rather pricey but if you are staying here it’s well worth it. I got a discounted rate today for my event to park at the East lot from the Hyatt for only $ 4, which is a killer rate if you ask me. Normally the price is around $ 10 or more.
I’m not sure if the staff at the hotel made the treats we ate today at the hotel but they were phenomenal! We had mini key lime pies, lemon bars, cookies, bagels, cream cheese, coffee and juice.
We had an incident here today where somebody accidentally pulled the fire alarm at the hotel so we weren’t sure if we have to evacuate the hotel. Thankfully the Columbus Police were also there so they said it’s okay that we just stay inside until the alarm turns off. Usually you would have to evacuate the building until there is an all clear to go back in.
Since I live in Columbus I have no need to ever stay here but I would imagine it to be a very nice hotel room if you were booking a room. I would think you would also get a great view of the city if you slept here. Also you have 89 Fish and Grill across the street which I heard is awesome and can’t wait to try someday!
My only suggestion for the hotel in the future is to please utilize that first floor to instruct people who are lost where to go. As in maybe putting signs for events occurring there for the day, it would be very helpful so that I don’t have to wait half an hour and be late to my event. Thanks and I hope everyone else enjoys their stay at this hotel as well.

This hotel is clean, rooms are big and the starbucks coffee in your room in the morning is a huge plus. However, they don’t have a 24-​hr accessible front desk extension or mini mart for basics — water, snacks, etc. this is a huge fail in my book. The general store in the lobby isn’t open late to grab things after you return from dinner.
When I checked into my room a garbage can hadn’t been emptied and there were some other signs that the room wasn’t cleaned up and down, but I can live with that. I was more frustrated when I drank my in room tea night one and it wasn’t replaced, even though I left the wrappers out to show it was used.
The real kicker for me was that the bed uncomfy. This usually isn’t an issue at hotels with this kind of «nicer» business feel. I just can’t get comfortable and it’s too bad.

Check in was super efficient and my room was an extra-​large city view king, which I loved. Great home base for my stay in CMH which was for a wedding.
For some reason, they didn’t deliver a New York Times, as promised, but the WSJ, which I like quite a lot less. No big deal on a short stay, of course. The rooms were well-​appointed, although they forgot to stock soap, shampoo, and a bathmat, which I discovered the first night when I stepped into the shower. That was fixed posthaste, and the evening turndown service was excellent, with chocolates and bottles of water. The in-​room coffee was delicious Starbucks dark roast and I enjoyed two cups every morning.
For diamonds, they give up upgraded wifi, which was lovely. All Hyatts should do this as I definitely noticed the difference in speed. No Regency club, but great breakfasts at the restaurant.
The pool area needs a lot of help; I would definitely NOT get in the water as it is disgusting. And the workout area is quite small, but well stocked. It’d be good for the hotel to spend a little money on upgrades there, frankly.
Very well located in the heart of the downtown area.
All in all, a good city-​center Hyatt Regency, but there are better ones, too. That said, I’d stay there again when in CMH.

This is a review only for the bar and restaurant.
At the Hyatt I want a bar area that doesn’t remind me of a high school cafeteria. The dining area also didn’t seem very inviting.
My colleagues and I explored the in-​hotel beer drinking and dining options, decided we could do better, and on both days we were there headed to Wolf’s Ridge Brewing (about a 5 minute walk away and a very nice place to hang out).

I really enjoyed my three night stay here. Room 833 has to be one of the coolest rooms I have ever stayed in. Loved the layout and all the windows. Check in was easy, staff was friendly. Was brought up free razor and q-​tips very quickly when requested.
The room service was hit or miss. First night I ordered a steak very late — almost midnight and it was terrible. The worst steak or potatoes I have ever had. Second night I just ordered water and beer and got food from the convention center food court. Third night I tried room service again — a burger with blue cheese and avocado and it was delicious. This was more at 6 pm so perhaps the time made a difference?
Only bad parts about hotel was the elevators were sosososososo slow! I had to wait 10 minutes each time I wanted to go up or down — which was often with the conference I was attending. Also, $ 10 per day for internet. Not sure I was actually ever charged though even though I had to approve the charge on my laptop when I signed in…

I stayed at the Hyatt Regency for several nights over Columbus Pride Weekend and really enjoyed it (despite the lobby’s poor selection of late-​night delivery menu options).
I really liked staying here and my room was pretty swank. It was actually, literally, no-​joke, bigger than my entire apartment back home, so that was nice.
The showers got super hot, the sink had plenty of room to spread out my massive amounts of shiz, and there’s even a vanity area outside the bathroom in case you do have someone else there who also needs to get ready. It was just me on this stay but I still used both areas, just because I could.
The sleeping/​living/​work area was really nice too. There was a nice big desk, a chaise lounge, stylish lamps, a great big bed with super comfy pillows, a big dresser with a huge flat screen (They had HBO, but otherwise it was just super lame channels. Like 10 sports channels — no joke.), and the one wall was a huge panoramic window looking out to Columbus’ skyline, which was super nice, and if you’re not a fan of the skyline you could just close the blackout curtains and the room was no less comfy.
The negs here (below) are few and far between, and really very minor in the long run.
— The hallway smelled like smoking despite being on a supposedly non-​smoking. My room, however, smelled fine, so you don’t have to smell the stink for too long.
— The 4 elevators they have for the whole hotel are kind of a joke. On a busy weekend like the one I’d stayed here on, the elevator situation will leave you waiting for what seems like an eternity… and walking up and down from the 7^th floor just wasn’t in the cards for this lazy lass.
— TV channels, as mentioned earlier, were kind of lame.
— They had complimentary wifi on my visit for the special weekend, but otherwise I think they make you pay, which is total BS, IMO, when you’re paying $ 200 a night for a hotel.
Major props to Wil at the front desk who helped me check in and direct me to various exits and entrances since this hotel is connected to the convention center and not quite intuitive with several escape routs on various levels. He was mega friendly and helpful and really stood out as far as his dedication to customer service. He honestly made me feel like I was staying at the Ritz.

I have stayed here every time I have visited Columbus. It’s location is ideal. Connected to the Convention Center and close to the Arena District and the Short North. I have always found the staff incredibly professional and accommodating. This weekend in particular there was a rock concert, breast cancer walk, 3 conventions and 8 weddings all going on at once and the level of service we received was unchanged. The room was clean and set up very nicely. And we really enjoyed our stay.

Great central location. Within half mile of most of Columbus’ downtown attractions including Nationwide Arena, North Market and Short North district. I had no safety concerns walking around during the evening.
I booked through Hotwire for a rate of about $ 90 per night. I was mostly satisfied with my stay. The room was well maintained and furnishings were up to date. The lady at the desk was nice enough to ask us if we had a floor preference. She put us on the 17^th floor which had a nice view of the downtown skyline.
Overall, not a bad option if you want to explore downtown Columbus and the Short North district. Despite having a dated appearance on the outside and in the lobby, the rooms are actually pretty nice. I had no issues with noise. If anything it was almost too quiet!
Parking is a bit of a nuisance. If you choose to valet your car, it’s $ 25 for unlimited in and out access. If you want to park yourself, there are multiple lots available within 5 – 10 minutes walk that cost up to $ 20 per day. Valet may be the easier choice. Another downer is that you have to pay for internet access.

Great location just a half block from all the Arena venues.
Spacious lobby. Quick check in.
Rooms are furnished well. I like the chaise lounge instead of the typical chair or sofa. Big windows in the room let please type of light in. Big King bed that was very comfortable.
Only ‘complaint’ was my rooms heating & cooling. Waaay too loud and even the slightest variation on temp was overkill. Either too hot of too cold. Probably just the room I was in, so not a big deal.
Nice place and will be back.
