Spent well over $ 200 on my bill. Server took my final credit card signed statement with tip before I had got up. Complete amateur move. Will not give them or the casino another dime.

This place is a joke. I was very disappointed with the service and management. After waiting almost a hour for our food I sent it back and the manager proceeded to argue with me why I didn’t want the food. I’ll never go back. I still want to know how they got such a high rating from Forbes. The server also said someone at the table insulted her. They need to retrain the whole place

Came for dinner and the staff was very accommodating. The calamari and crab cakes were delicious. Crab cakes weren’t full of Panko crumbs like other places. Also ordered the mushroom soup it was a very odd texture with only 4 mushrooms so I returned it. The salad was also very basic and bland for a restaurant on the Forbes list. Ordered the Beef Wellington with a side of jalapeño scalloped potatoes. The potatoes were so smokey and delicious while the Wellington was meh… Would definitely return for appetizers and sides but that’s about it.

Generally, I like the Final Cut steakhouse. The food us very good quality and I have never had a bad meal. My most recent visit, number five to be precise, is no exception. The service is spotty and the staff rotates frequently. This occasion I even asked for a different waiter and then the hostess didn’t even come back to ask me why? The problem with the Final Cut is that the wait staff knows nothing of a wine list and feel that handing you an iPad with a listing of wines is adequate. No explanation of good pairings. My Final Cut on Final Cut… good steak, good wine selection, management and staff training needs to improve… a lot. Not the high end place is was when it opened. Too bad.

We received a gift card for the casino for Christmas and since it couldn’t be used for gambling, we had dinner at the Final Cut. We arrived as they opened and were seated immediately. We were greeted and served drinks promptly. I enjoyed the Chop Chop salad-greens, bacon, egg, onion and tomato with the right amount of Italian dressing. The bread basket had a nice variety that included corn bread, brioche and Asiago bread sticks accompanied by several types of butter and a flavorful berry/pepper marmalade. Nothing spectacular but a decent variety. The filet Oscar was fair. What made it less than spectacular was the price. We don’t mind paying for top notch meals and this wasn’t one of them. The horseradish mashed potatoes were way too strong. I only ate a few bites. We shared a salted caramel apple cheesecake for dessert and enjoyed it. Again, given the cost of the meal, we were disappointed. The service was on par for the type of restaurant Final Cut would like to be but not reason enough to return.

First time we went service was so slow. Dinner was 3 hours. Decided to take another try and literally same experience. They took 20 min to get martinis and said it was because they were out limes? Not sure if they just don’t have adequate staffing or just don’t care. Both times it took over 10 minutes for our server to even greet us Food is good and nice atmosphere. Expect better service for the extremely expensive cost!

Ok I’ve been here a few times, and let me start by saying my experience when they first opened was phenomenal. I’ve been there a few times since and they just can’t get it right. The service is usually great which is why I give it 2 stars. The food is a completely different story. I originally had a bad experience and they gave me a $ 50 credit to come again. I thought this was just a mediocre act considering my meal was 150. So about 6 months later we decided to go back, I called ahead to make sure my credit would be honored. The manager seated us and I said hopefully this experience would be better then last. She laughed, giving me no reassurance. I let that go and hoped that the food would be better. We ordered filets and a New York strip… The food came out cold, our butter didn’t even melt in our potatoes! Gross… I’ve had high expectations but rightfully so for the expense of the meal. They did listen to my complaints and took money off the bill but this is definitely not a 4 star restaurant, I’d rather have a meal from outback.

Perhaps the worst dining experience of the decade in Columbus area. Despite our reservations for 5 of us, we waited for a table, and then waited at the table for nearly an hour before the entrees were served. The delay was inexplicable because the place was not full. By the end of the ordeal, we saw only one other table of patrons. Food is not worth the price. My steak was unremarkable, except for the accompanying sauce(something sweet) which was dreadful. We will not go back. Definitely not recommended.

I really don’t want to be too negative, but my first visit will be my last. The overall experience was so awful, I don’t even want to go to the casino ever again. We had a large party, but had made reservations a week in advance. The service was down right embarrassing. Once we had our cocktails our wait staff disappeared. My husband walked the restaurant looking for her. There was at least 30minutes with no contact with staff. No one came to the table, and since we were seated right near the kitchen, staff were constantly walking by us ignoring us. An hour an a half later the food arrive. COLD. steaks had not been prepared to order, over salted. It was obvious the meals had sat to long under a heat lamp. By the time the food arrived, most of our party had lost there appetite. The manager was almost unapologetic when we expressed our unhappiness over the wait. Taking a rude tone with us. Being the casino, I expected it to be reasonably over price. This was highway robbery. 2 guest — a bottle of wine, cocktails, and a meal that could not be eaten — $ 250.00 Plus because of the large party, and separate checks?, they added 20%tip to all 4checks separate without a mention of it. My husband and I enjoy dining, this was not even close. I have never been treated so poorly, feed poorly, and charged so much. SHUTITDOWN, or at least stop implying its a prime steakhouse.

So here’s the deal. I take a lot into consideration in writing meaningful reviews being sure to take into consideration the obvious and not so obvious. I like to give a common sense review that is geared to the average diner just like me. I have to say that leading up to this review I scrutinized previous reviewers and committed myself to walk the impartial line. So here it is as fair and real as I can be. Long story short…3 stars. The good: Generous portions Interesting atmosphere Quality food ingredients Nice presentation of plated items The not so good; Too expensive Poorly executed delivery of food. Luke warm at best Undercooked meat per generally acceptable standards Overcooked and limp vegetable sides Bland wait staff with little enthusiasm or knowledge of preparation methods Suspected staged desert and not fresh to order Booth seats not conducive to intimate couples dining Limited side dishes lacking vegetable selections Shallow wine offerings Yes, more negative than positive but an honest review of what really matters given the high price of experience. They have what it takes to make this a unique experience but failed to execute properly. Unless serious changes are forthcoming, it will be a while before I venture back for a second visit. Columbus had so much to offer that it surprises me this establishment hasn’t worked harder to shine amongst the other stars in the market. I can only hope that those who can make the necessary changes are reading what their target audience has to say.

We met friends from three states for dinner to celebrate our anniversary. We ordered the king prime, salads and sides. The prime came out horribly over cooked. The waitress took it back and returned later apologizing that this late(8:30) there were no pieces left cooked less than well. By this time the rest of our party was half way through their meals. They offered another entrée but by the time we would have received our meal the rest of the party would have been long completed and we all wanted to enjoy the casino. The manager came out and went back and forth to the kitchen a few times to no avail. She offered a gift card double what we had spent, two problems 1. We live 5 hours away and the likely hood of returning is slim. 2. We had spent almost $ 90 on salads, sides and the entrée… She offered $ 60 which is would’ve been generous but saying its double showed She wasn’t even paying attention!!! We declined and left underwhelmed on what should’ve been a fantastic night. If you’re booking something special be careful.

My wife and I went to the restaurant and were very pleased. Service, food and ambience was excellent. As stated in other reviews, the calamari was great. My wife had the French onion soup and the beef Wellington and she loved them both. I had the fillet and it was prepared perfect. The sides are a la carte and large enough to share. Only issue was we didn’t leave room for dessert!

FIRSTCUT at Hollywood Casino in Columbus OHIO FIRSTCUT Steak & Seafood SUCKS! RUDEMANAGERS, Service was horrible, food was Luke warm & Burnt and if you are not an ASIANVIP High roller they ignore you! I went to this restaurant, located in the Hollywood Casino, because I am a serious carnivore and because of its 4 star rating award from Forbes Travel Guide. My dinner companions and I were curious. We arrived on a Saturday evening for our 6:45 p.m. reservation with Open Table. We were immediately served a «taste» from the Chef. I can’t remember what they called it, but it seemed to be some sort of pâté. Actually, very tasty and giving us high hopes of what was to come. Unfortunately, that would be about 50 minutes later, when our meals arrived. Thank goodness for the brioche bread served. I have never had this sweet bread served at any other restaurant I have been to, and it was a nice change. I’ll keep it simple. The steaks, were pretty good, not great like you would expect from a 4 star restaurant with a price tag to match. We had the small filet tenderloin and the prime rib. The prime rib was warm, bordering on cool until you poured the Au jus on it. The rib eye tasted much better, and would recommend it. Everything is a la carte and you can quickly rack up the cost. Our sides included asparagus and horseradish mash potatoes. The potatoes were overly salty. We asked our waiter to advise the Chef of the excessive salt, and he not only agreed, but he took it off our bill! We were impressed with his responsiveness. The atmosphere was fine. big booths and tables. The booths are not really conducive for a party of four to have conversations. Décor is not memorable, but it is in a casino. You will find people of all kinds there, and similarly dressed. Don’t sweat what to wear, «whatever» works. We would recommend making reservations, when we were leaving, there were groups of people waiting. To be fair, this was my first visit. However, I probably would not come back unless I was at the casino and someone really wanted to eat a good steak and then would probably eat at the bar. 4– star? NOT!

Last night was my third and«final» visit to The Final cut. My first experience was great. We had a great server who was very attentive and the food was top notch. The server we had that night told us about half off wine night on Mondays… Which coupled with the great food/service… Brought us back on a Monday night. We requested the same server as our previous experience was nothin short of excellent. We made RSVP and were seated promptly. After 15 – 20 minutes our requested server came to the table sweating like a pig.(We were confused as the restaurant did not look busy.) we asked if he remembered us and told him we were back on his recommendation of half off wine night. He said yes and we ordered a bottle of wine. 20 minutes go by before we saw him again with our wine and to place our order. We were starving because at this point it was pushing 830. We were still waiting on bread when we finally had to ask another server for some. We got our entrees about an hour after placing them. Which were of course cold. We finally get our bill and it turns out the bottle that we ordered(and the reason we came in the first place) was not half off. We mentioned this to the server and said(we said we were here for half off wine night) the reply we got was… Oh. Well that one isn’t on the list.(Never knowing there was a list) Last night we met some friends there for one last shot. We were seated promptly with our RSVP. Service was again very slow. Wine glasses were NEVER filled and beer was left empty for long periods of time. The appetizer we ordered we specifically asked for with NO honey glaze sauce. Naturally it was all over the appetizer. 5 minutes before we got our entrees we were told that the sides we ordered were«out» which from reading previous reviews now… Is quite common. It amazes me that I frequently get better service at the local Applebee’s, than a $ 100 a person meal/drink. Get it together guys. You can’t breeze along just because you’re in a casino. That’s why you’re never packed.

Overall, pretty good service but food is NOT worth what you spend. The best thing we ate were the sourdough cheddar rolls. Everything else was ok but not great. Nothing was bad enough to complain about but we weren’t thrilled and to see how much our bill was after food that was«meh» was definitely disappointing. If I want to spend that much for a steak, I’ll go to Mitchell’s where I am never disappointed. If you’re going to the casino, save your money for the tables and grab something cheaper.

Sub par experience at the premier dining restaurant in Hollywood casino. The service was inconsistent and had big time gaps between interaction. Steak was not on a high level, pea purée was gross. Atmosphere lacked class. Took a long time to receive food. They have some work to do if they want to be a high level dining experience in town

Short story, do yourself a favor and skip this place unless you are just going in for a drink. I’ll give you the good, bad, and meh. Good: 1) Service. While the hostesses(two of them) had trouble finding my reservation made through Open Table, the server was great. He was friendly, made thoughtful recommendations, and was almost overly attentive.(Granted we were there just after opening on a Sunday) 2) The calamari. This was by far the best part about the meal. You get a large heap on calamari that was for the most part perfectly cooked. I’ve never had it that well cooked. The sauce is excellent… not too spicy and not too sweet. I would order this as a meal and be perfectly content. 3) Nicely poured and nicely priced drinks. A basic mixed drink is about $ 6 and you get a drink that isn’t too strong or weak. I want to be able to enjoy my cocktail and not cringe when it’s too strong. The bartender made several excellent drinks. The Bad: 1) The steak. All three of us ordered an 8oz filet. There isn’t any description about the steak. For all I know it came from the slaughtered dairy cows from the edge of town. My dinner mates ordered their steaks medium well, and I ordered my steak rare(as every GOOD steak should be IMHO). Their two steaks come out cooked to medium well, while mine essentially came out raw. There is a difference between rare and raw. The steak looked more like a cylinder or U shaped roast rather then a nice flat or square shaped steak. The inside part of the U shape was literally raw. I had to cut it out and put it off to the side. RAREISNOTRAW. All three steaks were cold. The outside of a steak should not be COLD. Even a rare steak should be HOT on the outside and cool on the inside. I have gotten better cooked steaks with my steak and eggs at diners. 2) The Sides — We got two different sides, the English Pea Rissoto, and the Horseradish Potatoes. The rissoto was undercooked and had little flavor. Rissoto is difficult to make right. Don’t offer it if you can’t cook it. The potatoes were very bland. I can make better potatoes with butter, milk, and a packet of instant potatoes from the grocery. Sadly, we would have ordered something else, but they were out of almost every other side. Really? You don’t run out… no matter how«busy» you were the previous night, you don’t run out. If you do run out, you better make a ridiculously good replacement with things you have. 3) The dessert — I’d put this in the meh, but really it ended the night on a bad note. I ordered the Crème Brule. You get three small cups of desserts. One raspberry brule(which was pretty good but more a pudding than true brule), a chocolate sorbet(which was quite good except for the terrible«edible» bowl), and a standard brule. The standard brule was terrible. It was nothing but watery and runny more than a brule should be. There really isn’t a unique dessert on the menu. The MEH — 1) Atmosphere — The dining area is basically just an extension of the casino in gaudiness. Cheap shalaked tables, booths that are way too large, and not even any such thing as a minimum dress code. Raggity shirts, shorts, etc are all welcome. There is a stricter dress code at bars down near the Arena than here. I understand it’s a casino, but if I am paying a couple hundred dollars for a meal not counting drinks, you need to make me want to come back. Summary: Overpriced, underflavored, but with good service. If you really want a great meal(for LESS!) goto Ruth Chris or S&W. You can’t price yourself into being a top line steakhouse without the taste and cooking to back it up.

Super expensive and not very good. Tries to be more than it is. No mention of where the steak is from. Is it Prime Beef? By the prices, I get the impression this place is just designed to keep money in the casino. Pretty much any other Prime steak house in town is better than this place.

I think this may have been the worst steak I’ve ever had, especially at a «high end» steak house. My wife commented that Ponderosa wouldn’t be this bad. One entrée’, a couple apps &3 glasses of wine came to $ 140. If they offered to give us a free meal, I don’t think I would come back for it. Maybe a bad night, but should there be a bad night at a place like this?
