As a gold elite member was never told«sorry Marriott booked you into the wrong type of room and we can do nothing for you. You will have to call yourself to find another location to stay» by a rude uncaring front desk worker and same message from the flustered manager. Just had it happen at the courtyard by Marriott in Columbus, Indiana. Wow! Rethinking the whole gold elite status!!!

The staff is friendly nice qiet place. The rooms are nice and comfy. I did have a slight problem with ants on the desk. Some of the caulking was black and gave it a nasty look.

3.5 Stars This is a typical Courtyard, but had a feature that most of of the Courtyards have removed since the Bistro was introduced and I was surprised to see, an actual breakfast buffet. Pros: + Extremely quiet– off of the main roads +Free internet– they only offer 1 tier internet. There is no pay for high speed internet +Friendly staff +Bed– They were not placed on the walls but up against the ballroom wall so you didn’t hear noise from the neighbors +Balconies– Some rooms had a small balcony that had a chair which you sit and enjoy the outside Cons: — The hallways were extremely hot and they had fans to try to cool it down. Thankfully the AC worked perfectly and kept the rooms cool –Outlets– There were no outlets on the lights, so you had to move the nightstands to gain access to the outlets by the bed. If you needed more than one outlet there, you either had to unplug the light or use the ones by the desk. –Odd TV station– I was actually amazed that they had the HBO Family Station, but not HBO. Not a biggy to some, but when you spend a majority of your time traveling and in hotels it is an annoyance as most Marriott’s, all brands, carry this station.

One of the Nicest Courtyard I have stayed in, ever. Not new by any means but the staff is so friendly. The stay was very relaxing and comfortable! Close to downtown, close to Nashville, and close to the outlet mall.

While we were on our way to Indiana, we got a phone call stating that our room has been cancelled because the hotel overbooked. They offered to set us up in another hotel, but could not accommodate my in-laws who were traveling with us. As an alternative, we asked if we could stay in one room since there was a king bed and a a pull out bed. The hotel and our Expedia representative said that this would be fine. They would refund our hotel room. When we got there, the accommodations were interesting. The staff offered us free breakfast for our troubles– the least they can do for cancelling one of our rooms. The room was very small and cramped. The pull-out couch was a twin The man at the desk was very helpful. He brought us extra pillows, blankets and an air mattress. We survived the night; however; the Courtyard has not refunded our room. Therefore, we have paid for a room that they cancelled and did not have available for us. The Courtyard claims that we needed to take their offer of another room at another hotel, and therefore we are at fault? What terrible customer service at the management level. Not only did they cancel our hotel room at 10pm the day of our reservation, they charged us for it and will not refund our money. To really cap things off, no one from management at this Courtyard by Marriott will not return our phone calls.

My best friend and I venture out a couple times of year and October is key being it’s our birthday month. We went to Nashville, IN to hit the wineries and local spa. More on that later. Courtyard Marriott in Columbus, IN was very easy to find. Awesome parking availability. Close to Starbucks :). The staff was fabulous. Very polite and courteous. The room was clean and modern with a great view of the pool/trees. Where it gets dicey is the most important of all minus service: the bed. OMG… rock rock hard. I was up most of the night and very sad. I am a very deep sleeper. It doesn’t take much for me to zonk out. It was rough unfortunately. The pillows were very weak and it was a tough nite. Would I stay again? Part of me says yes as I value names with solid reputations and solid customer service the other part struggles as I’d be voluntarily signing up for another hard bed. My guess is they are all like this? One nite wasn’t bad and it is a Marriott. I’d go back to Nashville in a heartbeat. Maybe we’ll try something new? Please understand though the staff was good. Why we didn’t complain? Why and how? The beds are the beds. Not much that can be done to fix that. :)

The stay started off bad. Seems the AC unit in my room was creating a small lake. So they swapped my room for another. Like Tim G says, it’s a quiet place and the staff was very good. Parking is plentiful. The meeting room is a bit small for groups larger than 20. Ended up running out of power points for our laptops. Overall a nice place to stay, not the best for company meetings of 20 or more. Reasonably priced. I didn’t try the breakfast. Wifi was a bit overloaded… and I ended up using my own internet access one of the days.

I recently stayed at this Courtyard and was very surprised with my stay. After reading the online reviews, I almost canceled my reservation. I am glad that I did not. Unlike many others, I found the staff outstanding. The room was very quite. I was also given a complementary breakfast as a Platinum Marriott Rewards member, which I’ve never had happen at a Courtyard.
