Columbus Unscripted is Ohio’s leading center for improvisation training and performance. We subscribe to the philosophy that everyone matters and we believe that each of our students, instructors, performers, patrons and associates contribute a significant and creative voice to our mission and are integral partners to the current and future growth of our organization.

In partnership with The Wild Goose Creative and The Whetstone Recreation Center, Columbus Unscripted offers regular performance dates and training opportunities throughout the year. We have chosen local and national instructors who are professional educators, writers, editors and performers. Each of our teachers subscribe to Columbus Unscripted’s goal of promoting the strengths of each student while providing an ongoing individualized assessment of skills and customized approach to supporting the students growth and progress. History

Established in 2006.

Columbus Unscripted began 10 years ago as a fledgling improvisation group known as «Squishy». Since its inception it has grown to be one of the most prominent and consistent centers for Improvisation performance and training in central Ohio. We are also proud to host the upcoming 4^th Annual Columbus Improv Festival.

Meet the Business Owner

Bill and Barbara.

Business Owner

Bill and Barbara are Co-​Leaders/​Founders of Columbus Unscripted.

Bill is Artistic Director of Columbus Unscripted, Co-​Director of The Columbus Improv Festial, as well as a founding member/​coach of the unscripted comedy troupe «See You Thursday».

Barbara is the Education Director and Co-​Director of The Columbus Improv Festival, and founding member/​coach of the unscripted comedy all female troupe Sassy Do!

They share years of experience in the areas of communication, teaching, theatre, and improvisation. Bill and Barbara both have studied improv at The Annoyance Theatre in Chicago through summer intensive classes and individually designed group workshops. They were also selected to perform as an apprentice and featured improv performer for three years with the Chicago Improv Festival with their troupe, See You Thursday.
