Ciao! Deli & Catering

~ No ! No! No! — I will never go here again. —(Ciao Deli opened in the old City Market location.) We stopped here for lunch and wished we hadn’t. The Chicken Caesar Salad was described on the menu as having «diced chicken». The «Diced Chicken» was actually cut up chicken luncheon meat slices.(side note-​the BLT had that pre-​cooked bacon you buy in the grocery store– very thin and dried out) Do they even cook here?
The nice waitress got the manager (?owner?chef?) for us. When I told him that cut up sliced luncheon meat is not the same thing as diced chicken, as described on his menu, he said I was wrong and that it was the same. He then went on to tell me that they use «Boar’s Head high quality luncheon meat chicken slices» on their salad. Whether he was intentionally misleading his customers with a false description on the menu or he had no idea how to cook– the result was the same– an awful salad.
He finally asked what he could do to remedy the situation. I asked him to take the uneaten salad off my bill which he did. I do not recommend this eatery at all. ~
