Buckeye Muffler & Brake Shop

My car suddenly became so loud, that I was afraid to drive it. I took it to Buckeye Muffler and Brake because my father told me they are the best. The owner is friendly and informative. They looked at my car immediately and then took me to see what was wrong and gave me the price. Instead of replacing the whole system connected to the part that had rotted out, they came up with a quick solution, cut out part of it and welded in a new one. It cost me 80 bucks and a half hour at most! As a woman who doesn’t know about cars, I fear being taken advantage of but that did not happen here. My wallet thanks them! Will definitely go back if ever needed

I went here after another review said that they had great service and that was not what I experienced. I ended up spending 600 bucks getting my brakes done and went back three times in the next six months over brake issues before having them redone somewhere else because they were already more than 50% worn down.

Good people, good work, fast service. Spent time with us to understand what we needed. Then they went out of their way to find a less expensive muffler for my daughter’s old Honda — saved us $ 100 — and they guarantee their work (parts & labor) for the life of the car.

A couple years ago I brought my car to the Meineke across the street from Buckeye Muffler to get a quote for (insert car problem of the day) here. The quote I got was $ 400+. I called some place two or three buildings down, and they said they’d fix it for $ 200. I went across the street to Buckeye Muffler — they said they’d do it for less than $ 100. That built a whole lot of good faith in me for fairness in pricing, and I’ve been bringing my car here ever since — and my hunk of junk breaks, a lot.
I have an issue in that I had to go back here 3 times in a 4 month period for related issues, which made me think that the problem hadn’t been properly addressed the first time, but I really think that my car just sucks, and the 3^rd time they replace the part for free anyway.
Oh, and once I was solicited for sex while I was outside smoking a cigarette. True story. This is in da hood.

I bought a used car when mine was totaled by an uninsured driver. I needed a car quick, and at a decent cost. I thought I had found a real winner in a 1992 Honda. The car checked out ok, but it did need a new muffler.
My normal mechanic couldn’t fix it because the car also needed a new exhaust pipe. They sent me to Buckeye Muffler to sort it all out. Buckeye muffler is in the scary part of Bexley. The shop reminded me of a chop shop you might see in an episode of The Wire. The mechanics were rough, tattooed and all seemed to have cigarettes dangling from their mouths. But they got the job done and hooked me up.
Turned out there was a tiny hole in my muffler pipe (I am sure there is a correct word for this, but I don’t know it) The mechanic put a finger to his mouth and made a shh! noise. He said they had patched it, but the pipe would be a major expense to fix. He advised me to just take the car and deal with its slightly louder noise.
I did, and I have had no problems since.
I never felt at Buckeye that someone was taking advantage of me because I was a girl, and not knowledgeable about cars. I also never felt like they were trying to get me to fix things that weren’t necessary. If you want an honest mechanic at an honest price, Buckeye Muffler is your place. And lets keep quiet about my muffler.
