Terrys Tag and Title Service II

I would not recommend this business to anyone! I made the mistake of going here in order to save myself some time and get my vehicle registered. What a mistake that was! While they will say one thing and I say another, I was verbally told by the business that as long as I «started» the process to register my car within a certain window I was eligible for the state tax credit. I was later verbablly told by another staff member that I was not eligible for the credit because I didn’t «complete» the process within 60 days. A minor, but important difference in my opinion! Through my own time and energy, I went to the MVA and got the matter cleared up myself. Thankfully by speaking to the right people at MVA, I was able to register my car without being penalized. They kept my 65.00 +/​-​fee for services that I ended up doing myself. Since it’s not a large dollar amount, I hadn’t planned on pursuing it further.
Fast forward several months. I wrote a bad review on social media about this business. I RECEIVED A LETTER THREATENING LEGAL ACTION IF I DIDN’T REMOVE IT. This appears to be a popular business scare tactic. As this is clearly an attempt at intimidation, I am posting this information here and plan on sending copies of this letter to every local media outlet and internet site I can think of! In fact if any 1^st amendment attorney or advocacy organization wants a copy or to take the matter up, please contact me.

I found Terry’s by doing a google search for registering a car in Maryland. I had just moved here from AZ and needed to go through the numerous steps it takes to register. I called Terry’s and they explained everything to me so I started the process. During this time, the state of Washington had lost my title during an initial request for it to be sent and now a duplicate was needed. This delayed things by a few months when all was said and done and during this time, my AZ plates expired. I contacted Terry’s to see if something could be done and within two days, they where able to get me my plates and registration for Maryland without having to take any time off work with a long trip to the DMV.

Hands down. Biggest time saver u will find. Terry and her crew are friendly and quick. I’ve had 4 cars tagged there in the past year don’t go to the Mva.

As easy as you can imagine — I will never go to the MVA again.

I was originally referred to Terry’s by the local Audi dealer (I bought my car out of state and it needed warranty work, Aaron noticed temp tags and called Terry’s for me and they stayed late to help me). AWESOME. They got all my tag and title work done in literally 5 minutes. Painless. And only $ 44. I would have paid almost anything to stay out of the ma waiting line. Don’t go to MVA this is soooo much easier. The staff is always helpful and friendly.
I’ve used Terrys Tag and Title Service II, at least 3 times.
I’ve never had to wait to be helped. My requests have been rarely simple and are usually complicated. If they aren’t sure how to handle they talk among themselves, call and ask, what ever necessary, so that you leave satisfied with the answer. You need to get in the back of the line or in a different line for EVERY question you have at the MVA. These simple trips to Terry’s would have been 3 day events at the MVA!

This place is awesome. I had to register and title a recently purchased car and I was in and out in 15 minutes. The customer service is top notch, I would highly recommend going here instead of the MVA!

This place is great. Especially if you just moved to the state and need to register for the first time. The staff is extremely helpful and nice. They explain exactly what you need in order to get your new title and new plates. Go here instead of MVA. It will save you time and your sanity.

As everyone knows, dealing with the MVA is an arduous undertaking. My husband and I moved from Virginia to Maryland and needed new plates. To keep it short, we were going back and forth with the MVA for literally 3 months. Every time we would come in, they would demand more paperwork that wasn’t previously mentioned. After my last experience where I walked out of their office in tears, I couldn’t force myself to step in there again.
Anyways, my coworker told me about Terry’s so I decided to give them a call. I got someone on the phone right away and they reviewed exactly what I needed to bring when I came in. The very next day I made the drive out to Columbia and walked into their office. No line, I just walk up to the counter and was immediately helped. The girl working behind the counter was so nice and she definitely knew her stuff. Within 10 minutes I was out of there.
I just received a call from Terry’s and they have my plates/​registration waiting for me in their office, no problem. What I am most impressed by is: they only charge $ 60 for their services. Seriously, I would have gladly paid them much, much more for the convenience of it all.
Also, they saved me nearly $ 1,000. The curmudgeons at the MVA were saying I owed the 6% excise tax if I couldn’t provide some obscure piece of paper from the NYS DMV, since we purchased the vehicle in NYC. Obviously, this would have been impossible to obtain, and I would have been hit with full tax instead of just the 2% that I inevitably paid.

They really did a great job for us! They were quick, efficient and got the job done! Never have to make a trip to the MVA again. Let them do the work for you… it’s worth it!

It’s not everyday that you need to update your vehicle’s tag and title, but it comes up often enough to dread having to visit the MVA.
If you’re anything like me, you’ve had a bad experience at the MVA. If you’re exactly like me, you’ve had nothing BUT bad experiences at the MVA. This is why I took a friends suggestion and went to Terry’s Tag and Title.
I needed to transfer my title to MD, register my car, AND I wanted specialty plates. I was skeptical that the staff at Terry’s would be able to take care of all of this, but as soon as I walked in they looked at me with confidence and said ‘No problem!‘
I dealt with three separate people while I was there and each one of them was more polite and helpful than the last. Even when the plates came back from the MVA and they didn’t match the registration, they called me and said they’d have it fixed for me by tomorrow. This wasn’t even their mistake and they fixed it without any hesitation. 2 days later and 15 minutes of my time later I had my title transfered, my car registered and brand new set of UF Alumi plates on my car.
I’m sold on Terry’s services and I will NOT be visiting the MVA again if I can avoid it. I spent very little to have them take care of the hassle for me and believe me, saving my time was worth EVERY penny. Their website lists 4 locations so find the one closest to you and take a detour from the MVA.

I recently purchased a car from a private party, and he kept the tags, so I needed new ones. Since I work during the week, I wanted to handle the transaction on a Saturday. The MVA near me does not handle any transactions except driver’s licenses on Saturday, so I went to Terry’s Tag and Title in Columbia, which is open on Saturday. I am extremely happy that I decided to do so.
The service there was great, and I was in and out of their small shop in 10 minutes. Another customer was there ahead of me, but she was waiting for another family member to arrive to sign some paperwork. The representative behind the desk kindly asked her if she could begin my transaction while she waited. Then she immediately began processing the paperwork (title, safety inspection, proof of insurance), and within a very short time I was holding the tags, the vehicle registration, and the registration stickers (for the tags). The representative there was even nice enough to place the registration stickers on the license plate. The title paperwork was entered and was mailed to me by the MVA several weeks later.
I highly recommend Terry’s Tag and Title. Several other places I found on the Internet claimed to be open on Saturday, but when I called they said that they were not. Also, a number of other places seem to be combined with insurance agencies, auto repair shops, etc. Terry’s is a standalone business, and their storefront in Columbia seems to be in a nice area.
