While the place was at least clean the food was so-so. I ordered a Gyro with fries. Part of the pita was so hard I couldn’t even bite through it. Even the dog had a hard time when I gave her parts of it. I am used to a gyro that has lettuce, tomatoes and feta. I had to ask for feta and lettuce and still got very little of either. Ton of meat tho!!! Fries were kind of iffy but I’ll give them a pass since I took it to go and I live 14 miles away down an extremely busy road!(Two Notch). I might go back.

NEEDSTOIRONOUTTHEKINKS! My husband and I chose this restaurant because of the reviews and it also happens to be very close to our hotel. This place seems to be a local favorite because it was«hopping» at 3pm on a Friday afternoon. The décor is very simple and well worn so nix the date idea and just pick it up to go. On our first visit, I ordered the chicken gyro with onion rings and my husband ordered a traditional gyro with a Greek salad. I loved my sandwich and my rings, they were perfect. On the other hand my husband only liked his salad. He said that his gyro was just spiced differently than than what he is accustomed to and was not sliced in the preferred thin strips. To be fair, we have our favorite gyro place at home and for us, others just don’t compare. We simply love it At 11pm, we were headed back to the hotel but needed to get a bite to eat. Most of the restaurants were already closed, but we recalled that Nick’s is open until 2am, so we went through the drive-thru. This place was just as busy and we had to pull over to wait for our order, which was brought to our car. I ordered the catfish platter, with puppies, fries and cole slaw and my husband had a traditional burger with fries. She had to return to get the requested sauce and when we arrived home, we realized that we had no utensils. No problem becasue I actually carry my own pack of metal utensils so a crisis was averted. My fish was very fresh and delicious, I did not care for the crinkle fries sprinkled with a seasoned salt. I like a more natural fry, lightly salted. The cole slaw was very one note but I was able to add a shot of balsamic vinegar to spice it up. The hushpuppies were a total miss because they were not fully cooked. they need to slow down and pay more attention to the details. Each time we visited, employees seemed a little overwhelmed. They need a better ordering and processing system because they were just all over the place, confusing orders, missing items and not knowing who they had already assisted. During the late night visit, they seemed to be having some of the same problems and they really need to work on ironing out the kinks and hire more help. Obviously they are doing something right as evidenced by the reviews and the volume of people that always here.

Ok fast food. Not impressed considering Unilocal review rating. The place itself is not esthetically pleasing inside or outside. Smells like grease and bleach inside. Could use a good scrub down inside and the windows need washing. My husband had the gyro and I had a chicken salad. Neither was impressive. Iceberg lettuce for salad and bland gyro. The water shares the hi-c punch soda port, so my water was lightly colored pink and tasted like hi-c flavored water without being sweet. Prices were fine. Probably won’t go back again.

I had a great gyro with some great girls today! They shared a chicken philly with a side of fries and fried mushrooms. The amount of fries we mammoth. The only complaint would be the cleanliness of the tables. Moore(our server) helped us through the process of ordering and gave us advice. He was excellent!!! He was quite the gentleman, and my mom gave him a compliment after we were done eating. Hope to return for a gyro with Moores service!

Ordered the Philly steak and fries. Philly was OK, I enjoyed the fries they had good seasoning to them. Service was good. A variety of Southern food to choose from. Ordered fried mushrooms but they will have to wait as I’m stuffed.

Was going to go to the Waffle House next door when I saw this place. I hadn’t had a gyro in a long while so I went there instead. I was not disappointed. Very good food for an affordable price.

The food was great. I ordered the Philly cheesesteak and cajun fries. I feel like I got a lot for my money. I’ll definitely be back again… The building looks nice and clean on the outside.

Pretty good. I had gyro and fries. You get a lot of fries and I mean a lot. The gyro was average pita could’ve been thrown on the grilled instead of just cold. I would return.

I had the Oyster seafood combo that came with ½ dozen oysters and 10 shrimp. It was awesome. My friend got the gyro sandwich and it looked really great, must have had 9oz of meat on it.

We are from Philadelphia, so I just had to try the Philly Cheesesteak. I was expecting a disappointment, but I was pleasantly surprised. I highly recommend Nicks, despite the outside atmosphere. Everyone in our group was pleased and my Philly Cheesesteak was awesome. The roll was perfect. Try it with just Mayo, Lettuce. And tomatoes, which is my personal favorite, called the Cheesesteak Hoagie. Great job guys. Good food, great prices. This place really has potential.

I’m only giving this place 4 stars because the outside is so ugly and nasty looking. However if you can get over the looks then walk through that door and order with no fear. The food is good. The décor sucks. But the food is good. T I love their shrimp dinner. That is what I always get. It’s a fried heaven. They are in no affiliation with any other Nick’s in Columbia just ask them!

I’ve tried a few things from here before and have been very pleased. However, last night I tried the honey mustard wings for the first time — they were so seemed like the wings had just been sitting under a heating light all day and they just poured honey mustard sauce over them once i placed my order. This review is based solely on the wings I ordered.

Good, very good but their new Decker location(slower) has the better cooks in my opinion. What is there not to love about Nicks? Family owned and delicious.

I love gyros and greek food in general so I was excited to find Nicks. The staff there is friendly, polite, and our order is always prepared to perfection in a timely manner. The gyros there are made real good and their greek salad as well! I’ve also tried their steak & cheese sandwich and it too was scrumptious: D I will edit my review and take a picture of the take-out menu once I find it. This place is more of a take-out vs. dining in though IMO.
