History

Established in 1997.

Harry’s HP Tire & Auto Repair is a fantastic Colorado Springs, CO auto repair shop that provides the best auto services for a reasonable price. We take pride in our great workmanship.

The business was opened on April Fools’ Day 1997 by Harry and Barbara Volkmann with the intent and mission to provide the kind of service that seemed to be lacking in the industry with honest and upfront client care. What they saw missing was the outstanding customer service that as children and young adults they had become used to seeing, and decided that they wanted to help revive the «above and beyond» and «whatever it takes» mentalities. After decades of working in retail sales, and customer service for other people and other companies, both Harry and Barbara decided they’d had enough, took their experience and knowledge, and not only opened their customer/​client centered service facility, but even wrote and published a book for other service professionals in any industry teaching the reader how to p

Business Owner

After working in the retail world of shoes, men’s clothing, ice cream, and carpet, Harry felt as though he had something to offer to customers in a field where they had traditionally felt taken advantage of. Auto repair was in need of an honest family approach so Harry and Barbara (with Barbara as the President) opened their family shop with the intent of being completely different than the industry standard — just plain honest folk. Harry and Barbara are very active in their community having been Boy Scout leaders for many years, donating both time and money to various charities every year, Harry serving as a chaplain in the El Paso County Jail ministering to inmates, and both as a loving mother and father supporting their 5 children in their school and sports activities.
