I was surprised that there have been no reviews for Master Transmissions and Autocare. Because when you find an honest, efficient and friendly auto repair shop you should tell everyone!
I’ve been a customer here for about six months and every time I take a car there for service I come away impressed with the quality of the work and the honesty of the staff.
I’m a Car Guy all my life. But I’m getting to an age where I don’t welcome as many DIY projects as I used to. So for me, finding a shop that I could trust, and would do the job to the same high standards as I would myself, at a price that didn’t bankrupt me was a tough get.
The first time I was a customer I’d bought a bargain-​basement minivan with a known transmission problem. I brought it to Master and expected them to just say, «Yep. You need a rebuild. $ 3,000.» Instead, what I got was, «Let us look at it, diagnose it and make sure we are doing the right repair.» I understood, and they did the diagnosis. It turned out that it wasn’t the transmission; it was the computer. They then went the extra mile and located a good «gently used» computer to replace it. At the end of the day, instead of spending thousands, I spent a few hundred, and I’ve had thousands of trouble-​free miles since.
I took a car in before a coast-​to-​coast road trip. I asked them to do an oil change, and look the car over for «anything it needs». Again, I would have expected this to get a response of «problems» several pages long. Instead, I got an Oil Change, and a list of two things to be aware of, and an assurance that the repairs didn’t need to be taken care of immediately, but should be attended to when I get back.
I just can’t say enough about how comforting it is to not have to be concerned about being ripped off by the mechanic.
