History

Established in 2001.

Cal Auto Body in Colma first opened its doors in 2001. With over 25 years of industry experience, we decided it was time to start our own auto body and paint repair business. Like any business, it was definitely challenging in the beginning. We had to learn a lot of skills very quickly be able to compete with other more established auto body shops in the neighborhood. Thanks to the support and encouragement of our loyal friends and customers throughout the years, we were able to establish and consistently grow our business. Cal Auto Body has now earned numerous awards and positive reviews including: the Talk of the Town Award, BBB, 5-​Star Yelp Reviews and we’re proud to be Diamond Certified.

My name is Nana. I’m the owner of the Cal Auto Body in Colma.

Starting off as an industrial engineer I decided to put my knowledge and passion into our family owned business to make sure that we have a successful and strong business and to be able to provide excellent service to our customers and friends.

I was born and raised in East Europe. After graduating high school In Armenia I got accepted to university for engineering and graduated with my master degree five years after. I moved to the United States in 1993, and after a short time of living in USA I started really appreciate the opportunities that this wonderful country opened up for me to be a better person, to succeed and most of all to become a business owner in such an short time.

I really enjoy my job and especially the opportunity that I get to help people in anyway that I can…

As a personal injury attorney, I refer all of my clients with any property damage resulting from a car accident to Nana over at Cal Auto Body. The team there does an impressive job at making sure all of the damage caused by an accident is found, catalogued, and ready to repair once the insurance company catches up to her swift work. The experience that I had with Cal Auto Body was exceptional. My poor Lexus was hit and had damage to the front end. Nana was very honest about the damage assessment and provided me with a very fair price. The car was in the shop just a few days later and ready within 1 week! During the process, Nana kept me updated on status and made what is usually a painful experience into a very pleasant one. My Lexus is back to its original state of beauty, without any trace of the accident.
I highly recommend Cal Auto Body and this will always be my «go to» shop for any car repairs.

Nana, the owner and her team deserve every star. Amazing work and service. If you’re a women and want to take your car somewhere that you won’t get taken advantage of Cal Auto is your place! There work is perfection and the office is clean and welcoming. They are close to BART and there are car rental places close if you need a rental.

I really wish I had before and after pictures of my car. Got into a car accident around 11pm, found a 24hr towing company that lead me to cals auto body. My insurance worked directly with nana and cal auto body, they started my repair within a week. My 2015 Corolla was smashed in the front and the total damage was $ 11,000. I thought there was no hope for my car. I think the only downfall was waiting a total of 3 months and a week for my car repair to finish. All in all the wait was completely worth it. I got my car and it literally looked like it came straight out the dealership! Didn’t even look like I had gotten into a car accident! Nana is extremely nice and accommodating. Helped me get a car rental for a month.
I believe they take longer than usual for the repair because they have less than 10 workers employed. Nana explained to me that one worker is assigned to one project. And they are closed one day of the week
I recommend this auto shop to anybody esp those with first car damage and accidents. Superior customer service and very patient with me

After getting into an accident that left the right side of my car completely smashed, I went to Cal Auto Body to have it repaired, and it has been the best decision I have made in regards to business selection to date! All of the technicians at Cal Auto Body conduct themselves with unparalleled professionalism and clearly have a great deal of experience. Not only are the technicians top-​notch, but the owner is extremely competent and a joy to work with. She not only made sure my car was in impeccable condition when I picked it up, but she cared enough to check up on how I was personally doing after experiencing an accident. This place is awesome. Had a fender bender and insurance handled it with them through the whole process. S/​O to geico as well I guess because I didn’t have to deal with anything. Nana is so friendly and efficient. The parts came in late due to a back-​logged order and she was consistently updating me on when to expect my car. It took way longer than expected but my car drives like it’s brand new. They put a little extra work in to make up for the long lead time. She’s so sweet — even gave me a gift card to a local restaurant to say thanks for my patience.
Oh, and the office smells like incense :)
I will absolutely take my car here if I ever need any service ever again. Legit.

I had a minor fender bender & the front end of my vehicle needed to be repaired. I really like that Cal Auto Body is a Diamond Certified company. After filing my claim, I literally gave Nana the claim number & she made things happen lightening fast. She called the rental car company for me & my insurance adjuster. When my car was ready she even took care of returning my rental car for me… she definitely went above & beyond. Nana & her staff are amazing. The quality of the work that was done to my vehicle is exceptional. I am very satisfied & if ever I need work done again, I will go to her hands down. I feel very confident sending her referrals. I found this place with Unilocal and Im glad I did. All I needed was a small car part painted and they did an excellent job. I contacted the shop and Nana (the owner) replied right away with a quote. The entire experience was very pleasant and they are very professional. I dropped the part off and the turn around was pretty quick. The part came out looking like new and I couldnt be happier with it. If you need any paint job done I recommend you contact Cal Auto Body.

I was involved in a hit and run. State Farm sent me to 3 different body shops they recommended to get an estimate. First one was so dirty and dusty in their office I wouldn’t trust to bring my car there. Second one wouldn’t give me an estimate unless I promise to get it fix there. Third one wants me to schedule an appointment to come back on a different day for an estimate and I was at their shop. So I went to BNI San Francisco website and found Cal Auto Body in their membership directory that was close to my house. I went in and Nana was able to give an estimate on the spot. The shop was clean and organize, office was not dirty or dusty. To top it off they are Diamond Certified. They fixed my car fast so I didn’t to get a rental. Thank you Nana and your team!

I came here to get a few touch ups with my car and I’m very happy with the work that Nana’s team had done, they even completed the job overnight.
Not only that… she provides the best customer service. she made all the car rental reservation, got me picked up at her store and even got me a real good deal, and returned my rental vehicle for me. Unlike any other auto body shop, Nana has the passion to just make everything convenient for her customers.

I absolutely recommend this place. I recently had body work done on my car Nana provided great customer service. She made sure I understood the process and even waited for my before and after hours because of my work schedule. She drove me to the rental car placed and once the car was done even offered to drop the rental back for. I highly recommend them. The customer service and my car are excellent. I am so happy I went with them and my car looks brand new. Absolutely love the excellent work they lut in to return my car in perfect condition. Thank you Nana and to your team too for the great job. Although I’m fortunate enough to have never had an actual bad experience at an auto body shop, I can definitely say that Nana at Cal Auto Body was exceptional! Friendly, fast and most of all — I felt like she really cared about the service I received. It was a pain in the ass to find my car hit by a U-​Haul while it was parked over the weekend. But Nana made the hassle of taking your car into a shop as painless as possible. I will definitely be coming back to Cal Auto Body for any future car needs.

This was, hands down, the best experience I have ever had with an auto body shop. I called after my car was hit and not only did Nana get me in right away, she also set up my rental car and worked with the insurance company for me.
I got a call, almost daily, to give me an update on my car. I asked quite a few questions and Nana was incredibly patient and knowledgeable.
When I picked up my car it looked brand new. The paint matched perfectly and the car was clean and ready to take home.
I was most impressed when I asked the cost of doing some other work and Nana told me not to spend the money because it was not worth it. I can’t remember the last time when someone at body shop told me not to spend money!
I hope I do not have another accident soon, but if so, I will not hesitate to use Cal Auto Body.

Just got my car back from CAL AUTO BODY due to rear end damage. They did a great job, the car is practically brand new. Spoke to Nana and she took care of everything for me and did not need to worry about anything. The best place to take your car in.

My rear driver-​side door was banged up (car parked overnight, no note) and Cal Auto Body was one of the recommended providers mentioned by my insurance company. They’re a bit out of the way for me, but their Unilocal reviews were good and I’m glad I chose them because every word of those previous reviews was proven true.
Nana’s service was exemplary: friendly, professional, and very accommodating – no confusion, no bureaucracy, and jumping at every opportunity to make the process simpler and more convenient for me.
The car, with the door frame replaced, looks flawless. They say that they had to repaint and prep the door to match but I can’t tell – the car looks brand new :)

My car was vandalized not too long ago and this place was highly recommended to me by my girlfriend. Once the car was out of the shop, it was like brand new. I chose Cal to repair my 4Runner after I got into an fender bender with another car. The other driver was at fault, so the damages were billed to the other drivers insurance. Nana, the manager, was very helpful in getting me exactly what I wanted done. She worked directly with the other drivers insurance company to adjust the original quote on the damages in my favor. Which in turn got me some extra cash as well as making all the necessary fixes.
Nana was very helpful in keeping me updated on the progress and made all arrangements including getting me a rental car to pick me up when I dropped my car off at the shop.
The damages are unnoticeable, AND Nana got me some extra cash from the insurance adjuster! No surprises, onetime, easy. Thanks Cal Auto Body.
