Now I know for sure that I have reviewed this place right after it opened. Another missing review mystery. So this used to be a Sonic. First time I ate here was in 2006(Sonic). After Sonic closed it was a Fried Pie Store. Many people including myself predicted that if you can’t sell enough greasy burgers in this location you sure are not going to able to sell fried pies. Sure enough that business failed in short order. It seems as if Rolf’s has been here for a few years now and is filling the need for breakfast on University drive. While there are only three parking spaces in the times I have picked up breakfast for others the staff has always been friendly. Contrary to the name, Kolache Rolf’s does not sell Kolaches or rather Kolach. A Kolache is a desert item from(now) Czech Republic filled with fruit. Kolache Rolfs offers what are called Klobasneks which is a Texas origin food. Klobasniky were first made by Czechs that settled in Texas. They contain meat. The reason I am only able to give 2 stars is due to the fact that the klobasniky or klobasneks contain very little meat. They are mostly a fingerfood puff of bread with a tiny like, party sausage inside. You know, like the ones you see on a party platter with a toothpick to pick it up from Jeeves? But I can understand why it’s called Kolache Rolf’s. Who would stop by if it had the proper name of Klobasniky or Klobasnek Rolf’s? At least not in this part of cow town Texas. That would probably work in California though.

I’m from Houston and they have kolache factory’s everywhere. So I thought I’d give this place a try and I can’t figure out why they are all over college station and Bryan. It was such a disappointment and needless to say once was enough.

This place has the best kolaches!!! My favorites are the bacon, cheese and jalapeño and the cream cheese! I love how all the ingredients are baked throughout the bread instead of all in the middle. Every bite is delicious! And they have a wide variety! We live in Houston now but we try to hit up this place when we can!

This place is great. Just as good as the stand alone Rolf’s(or better, and closer to home). Turn in between fish daddy’s and cheddars coming from university. Ask about who made the bacon/jalapeño ones, someone makes them way less fatty and they’re amazing.
