The Cold Spring Branch serves the southern part of Campbell County with a collection of over 81,000 items. We offer books, games, DVDs, programs, free Wi-​Fi and so much more! Anyone is welcome to stop by, plug-​in, pick up a magazine or book and enjoy our atmosphere.

History

Established in 1984.

The building was constructed in 1984 with 8000 square feet. An additional 6500 square feet was constructed in 1996. The building was renovated in 2007.

The biggest problem is that the computers are hit and miss and they’re also «password protected» on certain pages for strange reasons — like
. I mean seriously, SHUTTERFLY? What’s on
that’s so «bad» is beyond me. Just about every time that I want to upload photos or work on a photo album on
here, I have to get the librarian to put in the password for me then after using the page for a while, the computer locks me out of the page here — totally strange stuff. The wifi has a tendency to either drop or be down occasionally here as well.
Other than the issue with the computers and the wifi, the library is rather small, but it’s been rather well used over the last 30 years that it’s been opened for business. The library is showing its age in some spots.

I’m a huge fan of libraries in general and this has been «my» library for about 8 years off and on. There’s a good in-​branch selection of books and movies, etc. and the on-​line search and hold request features are super handy for finding and reserving a specific book from the Campbell County library system. I’ve also used the inter-​library loan service here to get a rather obscure academic book sent up from a university in another part of Kentucky.
There’s a sizable bank of computers there for patron use as well as community programs. I do wish their opening hours were a little longer, particularly on Saturday (closes at 5pm) but all-​in-​all, very happy to have such a great library so near.

I’ve been both a guest and a presenter at Cold Spring Library. Janet, the Adult Programming Coordinator, does a fantastic job organizing the event. There is always ample seating and an excellent turn out of inquisitive patrons. The library is very up-​to-​date with a modern layout. Janet made sure I had everything I needed to give a flawless presentation. Topics of the events center around local history, travel, and art.
All of the programs are free and last one to two hours.

Relatively small but very well utilized by the surrounding community, the Cold Spring branch of the Campbell County Public Library system has a modest collection of over 81,000 items.
While the selection of books is rather small, the librarians are really good about purchasing new releases (and I’m not just talking about stuff for Oprah’s Book Club). If you can’t find what you’re looking for, they’ll have it transferred through inter-​library loan.
There is a substantial portion of the library devoted to DVDs, VHS cassettes (sad, but true), and audio CDs. I know that’s what draws people to this branch, but it really annoys me that so much space is taken up for these collections.
If you want to use one of the public computers here, they’re often hit or miss. I had to urgently check my email and print off a Word document here one time, and I felt like I was playing musical chair as scurried to and from the PCs, as each one had something wrong with it.
