During one of the most difficult and stressful times a family can go through, Neal Hornfeld and his team made it as easy as humanly possible. There was absolutely nothing about our experience with Levitt Weinstein that wasn’t handled with compassion, warmth, understanding and professionalism. My parents had made arrangements in advance, but my family is all from out of town, so the logistics of getting everything together made everything more complicated. Neal and his team made us feel like we were at home. I am so grateful for the help and services provided. Thank you so much!

During one of the most difficult times of my life, after losing my mother unexpectedly, I was overwhelmed by the kindness, professionalism and care that were displayed. The entire staff was so understanding and willing to accommodate our needs, without hesitation, even on a holiday weekend. I am so grateful for the help they provided during such an impossible time.

We have just buried my mom. I want to tell there is not a more comforting caring man as Neal Hornfeld. He has made this process so comforting. We had to make changes due to weather conditions. They never asked for more money. Just kept giving us great comforting service. Neal we can’t thank you enough. You are an extraordinary man. Thanks for comforting my dad who is 95.

It’s seems strange giving a funeral home a review but I have to say that the care and kindness my family and I received was definitely worth mentioning. Neal Hornfeld was very kind and understanding and made everything so easy and stress free for us with what could have been anything but. Our Dad had to be flown to Florida from Houston and this was coordinated with a Houston funeral home without any hardship on either end. Both my Mom and Dad pre-​arranged everything and we’re comforted to know that they are together again and were treated with great respect.

There are no words to fully describe how well my family and I were treated in our time of need. After the initial phone call they arrived within 90 minutes to take control and remove my deceased mom from her apartment. Mom had previously arranged everything and John Brooks, the funeral director, was compassionate and professional. Never did he try to upsell me and went over all the details assuring me the entire time that mom’s wishes would be fulfilled. This is never pleasant but you can be sure my wife and I will pre arrange as well with this fine organization.

You’re never prepared to lose a parent and when it happens you feel lost. There is so much to be done and I was lucky that my father had pre arranged his funeral with Levitt Weinstein in Coconut Creek, Fl and that Neal Hornfeld, a licensed funeral director, took charge and in the kindest and most considerate way guided my mother, sister, and me through the process. He recommended a wonderful rabbi, Rabbi Barry Silver, and gently walked us through my dad’s arrangements and his funeral. We could not have been more pleased with his service and kindness during our time of sorrow.

My Stepfather Albert Gorchoff Jr. passed on Aug 25, 2002
The service at Levitt-​Weinstein was on Sept 1, 2002.
Our family was interviewed by the Rabbi in a rushed, almost frantic state.
I recall being asked all the standard questions such as favorite family vacation spots, traditions, background, etc.
I remember having to repeat my name to the Rabbi 3 or 4 times as he scribbled it on a tattered piece of paper.
Just before the service we were informed that Alberts remains could not be located!
The service began without the remains and the Rabbi proceeded to make every faux pas in the book.
He repeated the stories we were asked about and skewed them so badly they were no longer factual stories. He mispronounced many names and got some of the family relationships backwards. As I looked around the room I saw many eyes rolling.
After the service which could have been for an entirely different person, friends who know our family well made comments such as, «Where did you find this guy?»
WEEKS later I received a voice mail from Levitt-​Weinstein informing me the remains had been found and to come pick them up right away.
I returned the call and asked if they really expected me to drive out and retrieve them. The person sensing the upset tone of my voice quickly realized the proper thing to do was have them delivered to me which they did.
Many weeks after the cremation I can only assume that was his remains.
This review is long overdue and Albert would have been just as appalled as we were regarding the service of Levitt-​Weinstein.
It’s one thing to ACT sincere and understanding.
It’s another thing to BE it.
