J M Movers

I cannot say enough great things about J M Movers. We hired them to load two trucks of priceless antique furniture from my mother’s home. They were prompt. They were professional. They were helpful. They took care with everything. I did not have one single concern as the trucks pulled out that my furniture was at any risk of shifting or being damaged. The folks in the office were so helpful and quick to respond to our questions. I recommend them highly!

I would like to give this company no stars, as I never got a chance to use them. Why, you ask? I’m happy to tell you. I saw their ad on Craigslist for a 300.00 special, 2 men, 3 hours. Add 49.00 to that for their driving fee. (Why not put that in the ad?) Fine, I call them, talk to the guy– named Craig, who seems very nice and helpful. We make the arrangements, set the time and date, and he says he’ll send me a confirmation email as soon as he gets back to the office. Maybe a week or so goes by and I realize, I’ve got no confirmation email. This annoys me. I check my junk mail, my phone, nothing. I’m moving, working two jobs, I have no time for this. So, I send them my email. I say, I talked to you 2 weeks ago. You never confirmed with me. You obviously don’t want my business, I’m calling 2 Men and a Truck. Now, before you decide I am a terrible person, let me qualify. I have moved A LOT. I have had some great movers, and some awful ones. The great ones never miss a trick. The do what they say, when they say. The bad ones– they can’t get back to you because somebody’s mother was sick. The dog ate their homework. Whatever. If it starts out bad, it will end even worse. I get a very nice email back from Kristi who apologizes. Apparently Craig had a family emergency, but she hoped I would reconsider. Hmm. She sounded so nice I nearly did. Until I got an email right after that from Craig. Who essential said, how dare I be annoyed and take my business elsewhere because he didn’t follow up? Why didn’t I just send them a reminder email? He hoped I enjoyed being over charged by 2 Men and a Truck and had a nice life! (I am so not kidding. He said that.) He guessed it was just too bad he wasn’t perfect.
I forwarded his reply to Kristi, thanked her for her help, and called 2 Men and a Truck. I’ve used them for every move I’ve made. The only reason I called this company was the price. I am reminded yet again– you get what you pay for.

JM Movers was excellent! Their crew was awesome and very fast. They moved my whole house in less than 6 hours. Pricing was extremely affordable. All around a great experience. Highly recommend!

I used their service for moving last December, and I will neither use their service again, nor recommend them to anyone.
The Good:
1 — - They were the only movers who would agree for the moving job in just one hour’s notice
2 — - The charge per hour was by far the lowest
The Bad:
1 — - I got what I paid for — the CHEAPEST service possible. They were unprofessional, and ruined my mattress and bedding (got them soggy and wet) and damaged one entertainment center
2 — - They showed up with a small truck and had to make multiple trips. So, the number of hours increased, and they charged extra for the multiple trips
3 — - They were supposed to come back for fixing things later. They never showed up again. All phone calls and voice mails were unanswered.
