There’s not much I can say about Cranky’s… in fact, that surprises me since I can almost always find something to say about everything. In my opinion, this bar is in a very strange location. It’s off by itself in a semi-scary section of W 25th, not quite convenient enough to attract much traffic. This shows. I’m not one to ever judge a bar by the size of the crowd, but every time I’ve been there for shows, there have been maybe 8 – 10 people inside. Not only is the neighborhood mildly terrifying, the building itself is just a little seedy. I don’t know why but I’m always feeling a little uneasy when I’m at Cranky’s. I’m far from a bar snob, trust me. I’ll sit in the grungiest dive, eat greasy food and drink cheap beers happily. My uneasy has nothing to do with the interior or clientele, it’s just one of those places that doesn’t sit well with me. I do think it’s a good place to catch some live music, not the best venue or the worst. The bar selection is decent and I get a kick out of some of the old, hipster beers they have on hand.(Ummm, hello miniature High Life bottle?!) … and that’s pretty much it. This has to be up there with my top 5 crappiest reviews. *Sigh* Oh, they have their own parking lot! That’s a plus! I «heart» free parking.

This place is disgusting. Used to be great until a freak took over. Shows here are below mediocre and the owner looks like a human rat freak. The sign is miserable. Beer selection? What bud and bud light? Whiskey selection what bv or kessler? LOSERHANGOUTBARF !

I saw Paleface play here last night. The show was free(donations only) and he was pretty good. I never hear of shows that I would like to see coming through here. The place was alright, if they would book more shows that I would be into I would go there again. Very convenient location. The beer list was average, staff was friendly. I had a good time. I hope to see another show there soon.
