I am new to the St. Louis area and did tons of researching what salon to go to and what stylist would be best. Based on all the reviews which consistently reflect her amazing ability to cut hair and attention to detail, I decided to give her a try. I was not disappointed. I was wanting to go much shorter (about 4 – 5 inches) and she consulted with me prior to cutting. I also have naturally curly hair, and she took that into consideration when cutting (cutting to allow for both straight days and curly ones) and offered pointers on product choices and blow drying tips. In conversation, I mentioned that I was also in the military. At the end of the cut and style (which I love), she advised it was free and thanked me for my service, advising that she was thankful and had thought of what she could do as a hairstylist to support veterans and those that currently serve, and that was it. I was very appreciative of this gesture and it really meant a lot to me. She is a superb hairstylist, and she now has one additional client! I highly recommend her. You won’t be disappointed!

I moved to STL recently and have been looking for a new stylist. I’de been to a few other places and it just wasn’t right. Maria cut off the amount I asked her to, she gave me a beautiful flowy cut and even did some dry cutting, which in my opinion is always a must! She recommended a few products without the push to buy. She was great conversation and just seems like a genuinely sweet person.
I’ll be going back for sure!

Love Maria — found her at Strands in Demun after I moved to St Louis & called in & asked for a colorist for an ombré look. She has done a beautiful job every time — I get a lot compliments. She’s great at talking through everything, creative, & gives an amazing scalp massage. You’ll have great conversation if you like to chat, or it’s comfortable to just sit and relax, no talking necessary.
I’ve had 4 friends go, all new to STL, and they love her too. One of my friends has a beautiful purple/​red hair color. I’m just glad I found someone to be loyal to here!

I change my hair extremely often and I get bored very easily. Every time I have seen Maria I have been blown away by my own head and her amazing ability to get the color/​style just as my attitude wants it. When I do come in with my own ideas I feel she completely understands me — half way through describing. I couldn’t imagine going anywhere else! 100% as good as it gets!

I have been going to Maria since 2010 and now that she is in a new location I am so happy for her! Parking was easy and the space is great. On line booking was a snap and that is so important. Actually the most important part is my hair, and it looks fabulous! Congrats on the chapter, Maria! May you find all new inspirations.
