Wish there was a negative mark. Their service department is crap. Don’t waste your time with them. Had them replace my water pump, and since I told them what to replace they only replaced that. Then they had the nerve to tell me after all was done the timing chain was worn and it would be another 1200 to get back in and replace it. Moving on the engine started making a whining noise after it got to running temp. Take it back and they say it is the timing chain while trying to close the garage door on my wife. After making a bbb complaint and raising hell we went to Nashville and they said it was a pulley they ALWAYS replace when changing the water pump. Nashville dodge was dumbfounded when we told them the story and said that’s why GARY MATHEWS SUCKS. I would only go there now to test drive what I’m interested in to save the drive then go somewhere else to buy. The sales people are assholes too…

this is a horrible company who’s service department damages cars and tries to lie about it. i took my car there in june. they determined my transmission needed to be rebuilt. getting my car back from they it drovee worse than when i took it to them. i put it into there shop 2 more time and both times they said there was nothing wrong with it. 3 months later my car is driving so bad i take it to another dealership where they find over a gallon to much transmission fluid in my car. gary matthews is the only dealership to work on my car or transmission. i called the service manger who said they didnt do that to my car. liar!!! i then spoke with mark blick who brushed me off and said tracy would call me back… that was 3 weeks ago im still waiting tracy… expect to hear from my lawyer… i have the papers that prove you are the ones who worked on my car…

It was a few years back however it seems reviews have not improved. I was just looking at cars… the salesmen knew nothing about me or what my income was, but apparently because i was young assumed i was broke. I started looking at a new Charger when he said «looks like we have a champagne taste on a beer budget». I said «OK tell ya what… im going to go get in my Cadillac and go buy a car at Wyatt Johnson since you don’t want my money.» They tried to stop me all the way out of the parking lot. That being said, Wyatt and Johnson DID sell me a car that day and it was painless. Gary Matthews is a tired old place with the worst customer service imaginable. It boggles my mind that they still exist.

I bought a new Chrysler 200c and have had a lot of issues with it. First I’ll start by saying the process of getting the car into the shop took weeks. The work itself took even longer.
The body shop had to take my bumper off to repair paint and its alignment. They had my car for over a week. Yesterday I went to get it and the bumper looked worse– paint bubbled and the corner damaged as if someone dropped it onto the cement. The shop manager was extremely unprofessional and jumped into my car and drove off with the emergency brake engaged. He was swearing (not at me) and told me he felt the world was out to get him. He kept requesting another 24 hours but decided I needed to talk with management. In the end he got his 24 hours because management wouldn’t do anything because it was not mechanical. I have yet to get my car back. An update will be provided.
Update: I got the car back and it isn’t in any better condition. The body shop manager was unaware of me in the waiting room and was talking crap about the lady outside complaining about scratches. I freaked out and him and he was sent home. Additionally, the dealership didn’t resolve the issues and told me to contact the BBB and Chrysler to pursue any further action. The head guy did tell me he was going to contact Chrysler himself. I have a meeting with the general manager on Friday.

The dealership portion is great. Very friendly sales staff and not too pushy. The problem here is the service department. Although they are friendly, work is not done in a timely manner. I know they are very busy, but they don’t do a good job of giving timetables on when work will get completed. Also, when you call and schedule a service appointment, it’s not really an appointment time. It’s a drop off time and they will get to it when they can time.

Going to Gary Mathews has left a very bad taste in my mouth. I know the company has been here in town for a long time but I’m thinking they might need to replace some of their sales people. Me & my hubby went recently to look at some jeeps. Apologize for being so negative but this tall bald old skinny man came up to us and he smelled like he bathed in alcohol and he wasn’t very nice and acted like we should have something all ready picked out cause he made it known he didn’t want to walk around with us and I felt uncomfortable cause he kept staring at my chest and smiling. We left. My hubby went back there a few days later with his friend and purposely seeked out the same salesman to see how he acted that day and hopefully look at jeeps. He said he still smelled like alcohol and seemed like he was drunk and they looked at jeeps but hubby could tell he rather have been somewhere else. His phone rang and he answered it and walked away. They waited a bit for him to come back and he didn’t. On the way back to the car my hubby told the three people he saw that he would never come back there and they all tried to talk to him and wanted to help him but he ws so mad at the unprofessionalism of this one man. Two different visits. Richard.

Had jeep towed over the weekend, waited almost a week before I had to call the service department. They told me they had to order a new fuel pump, it would be ready in 2 – 3 days. After that time they never called me, I had to contact them to see what was going on, they told me they ordered the wrong fuel pump and it would be longer. After 2 weeks of waiting for the car back, my husband picked it up, and it reeks of gasoline. Plus, they wrote down the wrong VIN number for dodge to pay for the repairs. HEEELLLLOOOO. IS ANYONE HOME AT GARY MATTHEWS? Really bad communication, and department lacks competence.

Dropped my jeep off on a Sunday night for a recall on the brakes. Confirmed it would be finished Monday afternoon. It is now Friday and no one seems to know what is going on. Horrible communication. Would not reimburse for a rental car. Go somewhere else!!!

Here’s an update for my car. week later I get a call from customer affairs from Gary Mathews. I talked to Tracy. Well my husband had my car checked. It looks to be like the terrible noise isn’t coming from the supposedly worn timing chain. It’s coming from a bad water pump that Gary Mathews installed. They didn’t want to replace it for free. They just wanted blame it on another part to get more money out of me. Tracy was supposed to call me back on Friday. Nope no phone calls from them… I have had it, back to Better Business Bureau for me!!!

If the service department is any indication of what the car buying experience may be like, I’ll never make a purchase here. Twice now I’ve had to bring my car here for recall service. Both times I had to call to check on the arrival of parts. No one called me even though they promised they would.
The service personnel includes a few bright spots, but most have a flat affect. Maybe it’s because I’m not a paying customer?
The waiting room… well…have someone pick you up if possible. Even with the coffee and donuts, you probably won’t want to sit in it, especially if you have claustrophobic tendencies or concerns about the mystery stains in the chairs.

We went here to look around and were not impressed. The sales person looked like they had rolled in the dirt on the way to work. Didn’t really improve my confidence in the place. Ended up buying at another dealer in town.
