If I could give zero stars, I would.
Last spring, my husband went in for two root canals and told me it was the most painful procedure he’s ever had AND the dentist was rude to him while he was doing it.
My husband’s teeth have been hurting and sensitive since the procedure so he went to an Endodontist for a consult. According to him, Dr. Wortel didn’t do a thorough job. He put too much filling in his teeth which may permanently ruin his teeth AND cost us a nice chunk of money to fix!
If you value your teeth, do not go here!

He was awful. He pressured me to have an unnecessary filling, messed up the setting which resulted in extreme nerve pain to the point where I couldn’t close my jaw at all as the slightest connection of the teeth would set off the nerve endings.
When I went in to get it fixed, he pinned me down and forced the drill onto my tooth with me verbally objecting and crying. The nurse came in later and saw how distressed I was. His excuse was they don’t use numbing medicine to fix a bite, even though I ALREADY told him I the condition of the nerve sensitivity. I later had an office friend tell me that I could consider that being held without consent and it would be tough to prove but still sounded like borderline assault.
My insurance company sent me back to him because though the pain was not as bad, the bite still wasn’t set. I asked to go elsewhere and eventually relented to my insurance, after all the pain still subsided some even though I couldn’t chew on that side. He drilled again which was more tolerable as it was better. But that still didn’t fix it.
I asked for a supervisor at my insurance and got permission to find someone else to fix the bite but that I’d have to cover a portion of the cost of going to a new dentist. A new dentist looked at the filling and xray, wasn’t sure why I got the filling in the first place because of how shallow it was and fixed it on the spot (full effects a few days later), noting Wort had pretty much filed my entire molar down.
This insecure and blatantly forceful Wortel, all he could say was this has not happened to him before with his other patients.
So, here we go on not ever getting objective feedback which happen to be from other people, lots of other people.
