I came here once and was really put off. I was really disappointed by their stock and service. Also their hours are a bit off from what is listed on Unilocal and I have gone only to find they’re closed when it says they’re supposed to be open. I definitely expect more from somewhere in such a nice location.

Fabulous selection of yarn, beads, and much more. Phebie is a very sweet kind fun person too! I love this little shop. :)

Showed up there today (Thursday, August 28, 2014) around 3 to find out they’re closed, while Unilocal told me they were open. Very disappointing. However, from what I could see through the windows, really cute shop with quite a variety. I’ll try again another time, but since I wasn’t able to actually browse, I can only give them 2 stars for now for not updating their summer hours on Unilocal.A simple photo of the hours would have been enough. I posted their current hours myself.

What a selection! Love that Phebie offers knitting instruction to beginning little hands. My daughter LOVES to learn with her!

I’m a beginner at knitting and came in here and to be honest have never received such excellent customer service. Kate — I believe that was her name, helped me choose the type of yarn I needed since I was clueless. So patient, helpful, and informative. You don’t get helped like this anywhere anymore. I didn’t get to meet phebie, but will definitely return.

Phoebe, please work with Unilocal to correct your ( Unilocal) hours. I didn’t confirm thru your website and was very disappointed to arrive on Monday at 11:30 and find that you were closed!

I went to phebies after searching other yarn stores looking for novelty yarns with no luck at all! I hit the jack pot at phebies, so many awesome unique yarns, purse handles, buttons, wool yarns! I was in heaven! Best part… Phebies help me pick out yarns to match what I brought in to match! She has a great eye for the colors! I can’t wait to start up my project! I definitely will be back! I highly recommend phebies!

Phebie Is A Very Nice Lady That Is Willing To Help You Find What You Need And Is Very Knowledgeable In Knitting And Crocheting.
Phebie Also Teaches Classes In Her Shop, For Both Adults And Children. The Classes Are Reasonably Priced. Phebie Is Very Patient And Takes The Time To Explain Things To You And Demonstrate How To Do Things.
She Also Carries Beads, Crochet Hooks, Knitting Needles And Other Notions You May Need For Your Projects. She Carries Unique And One Of A Kind Items You Couldn’t Find In The Bigger Chain Stores.
For A Local Shop This Is The Ideal Place To Go For Its Selection And Phebie’s Helpfulness.

I like paying a visit to Phebie’s Needle Art shop which is located uniquely upstairs in the historical Packing House of Claremont, an excellent location. The shop is very small and has lots of character. I love the old time kitchen table right there in the front of the store. It makes it so homey and cozy. The front part of the store is the yarn shop, and the beads are in the back. They are well stocked and offer inexpensive classes for knitting and beading.
Phebie is normally working there and she is a real sweetheart. She is very informative and is always willing to answer any question and gives excellent tips. Every time I have been there she has offered to roll up the back curtains to let the sunshine in so I can see the color of the beads. That’s attentive customer service!
If you need something unique and different, this is the place to come. I haven’t been disappointed. There wasn’t much new inventory stocked since last time I went, except for just one item. However, I didn’t mind because I liked what I bought so much last visit, I was willing to buy the exact beads all over again for a second time, and I bought that one new item too. Phebie also has a good selection of quality Swarovski crystals for a fraction of the price I’ve seen elsewhere.
The only downside to the shopping experience is the lack of room in the place and more often than not, it’s a little hot and stuffy in there. I’d like to spend more time but I usually cut my shopping short for this reason.
