Art and Sol Fine Art Classes

My son is having so much fun there every week. Ms Gracesol is nice and know how to motivate kids for sure. I still can not believe that each piece of the art my son finished has a WOW factor, ever since the first class.

I HIGHLY recommend this art studio. Gracesol is AMAZING. She is a gentle, kind and thorough teacher. She truly has a gift for teaching and making the children feel that they are capable and that their creativity is valued. Don’t think twice. Absolutely amazing! We were referred by a friend, and we have been nothing short of satisfied. Gracesol has the cutest little personality, and my daughter just loves her. The studio is cute and comfortable, and every week my daughter comes home with pretty impressive work. Like a PaintNite for kids but every week! Rates are very reasonable and she’s got a few different class times to choose from. Basically, if you want a fun and modern experience for your child this is the spot to go to.

Gracesol creates a fun and nurturing environment for children to learn art. My 6 year old daughter and 8 year old son had a great time at the lesson. Gracesol is patient and gives each child the individual attention he/​she needs. I was very impressed with the artwork they were able to produce in such a short amount of time. Both of my kids wanted to go back! This place is definitely kid tested, mother approved!

Do not hesitate if you find out about this place. It is not one of those lame «arts and crafts» classes with all small children. I am a teenager and the classes here have taught me how to incorperate and manipulate artistic mediums like watercolors and pastels. Her way of teaching is thorough and systematic; she can teach you all you need to know about using a particular medium. I already know how to draw, so my main purpose of going here is to learn how to use things like watercolors.

Gracesol at Art and Sol is a fantastic teacher! My daughter and I have attended classes and it was a wonderful experience for both of us. Gracesol has a way about her that is very calming, nurturing, and warm. Even my daughter who tends to be shy and is a perfectionist felt at ease with Gracesol. She was extremely patient and attentive with her which I appreciated very much. I have been to a couple of wine and canvas with Gracesol as well which is super fun! The last painting I did is actually hanging up in my dining room! I recommend Art & Sol to anyone looking to learn, relax, and have fun, children and adults!

Simply amazing! Both my 6 year old daughter and my almost 5 year old son love taking art classes with Gracesol! She is so patient with them and her love for children and for art just radiates from her. My kids feel so accomplished every time they leave her studio.
We had Gracesol host an art class for my daughter’s 6^th birthday party, and it was a huge success!

If there were 20 stars, I would give this wonderful studio 20 stars! Art and Sol is simply magic! My daughter has been taking classes weekly for the last year. The classes are small, the students get tons of individual attention and are taught both technique and theory. Gracesol Thomas, the owner, is an extraordinary art teacher. She has a way of getting children to understand the intricacies of developing a pastel, creating a watercolor or sketching a picture. My daughter worked her way through the levels of pastel instruction during an exceptionally difficult time in her life after my mother died. Gracesol was so patient with her when she felt frustrated, guided her through things she found challenging and was a major part of her healing process. Art has become her therapy every week. When she decided that she didn’t care for watercolor, Gracesol offered up moving to sketching which she really likes. At the end of every lesson, Gracesol presents the students’ work from the lesson and asks the children higher level thinking questions about techniques and the challenges of the piece. Parents are encouraged to watch. It is a joy to see this part of the lesson. The work that the students create is amazing! We have a gorgeous collection of pieces that our daughter has created. The new studio is a great space where students can feel like they are real artists!
As a small business owner in Claremont, Gracesol has become an active participant in community events such as the Village Venture and fundraisers for the local elementary school. She also has single classes for adults though I haven’t gathered up the courage to do one yet!
We pay monthly for lessons for our daughter and feel that it is a great value for the money. She gets quality art lessons, individual attention and a creative outlet.
