Same Day Auto Service

Not what it used to be. I’ve been using this shop for 7 years but just scheduled an appointment with a new shop. The customer service used to be a strength and now it is definitely a weakness that combined with them missing a major issue (dealership caught it when brought in for a recall and then confirmed by same day), there’s no reason to trek out to Clackamas for bad service and technicians.

Took my Honda CRV here for its 160K service and oil change. Can’t say the prices are cheaper or more expensive than other auto services, but they were courteous, got me my car back when they said they would, and the car is still running…
They have free wifi in their office if you need to work there.

Well, Awesome is all I can say. Read on to know why —
Here’s my back-​story: I was traveling from Eugene to Seattle in my Honda Accord one morning last week to see my brother in hospice when my amber engine warning light came on and soon started flashing — a bad bad time for this to happen. I immediately pulled over, then went to the closest Honda dealership, only to be told they couldn’t look at it until sometime that afternoon, and based on my mileage, it ‘might’ be that I need the scheduled valve adjustment and related work [think up-​sell to the tune of circa $ 800] and did I want to schedule my car for that [remember — we don’t even know if it’s needed] and by the way, we’ll need your car for a full day [tomorrow]. I politely withdrew from that conversation, and called another nearby Honda dealership, only to get almost the identical answer [and up-​sell]. So, I jumped online and looked for a Honda-​certified local shop with good reviews — thank you all you reviewers out there — to see if they had time to check my car right away. It was with great hope that I came across the name «Same Day Auto Service» — just what I needed! I called, explained my dilemma [and time/​family need], and got the answer I hoped for — «bring it in and we’ll get it done.» Well, a $ 89 service charge and a $ 35 spark plug replacement solved the problem, my car runs fine, I got to travel and see my brother rather than spend two days at a repair shop — and they gave me the service bulletin that tells me about how and why Honda will repair or replace my engine FOR FREE due to [a class-​action suit related to] the underlying problem I’m experiencing — something Honda never told me and my regular shop never knew or told me. Needless to say, their fast attention to my problem, their super-​niceness, their über-​reasonable price, and their even-​more-​than-​helpful investigation and reporting of the underlying/​previously undiscovered problem — I could have kissed him on the lips [but I don’t swing that way :-) ]. Still, just saying …
Results may vary — but for honesty, efficiency, friendliness, and everything they bring to the game — I give them all thumbs up! {I had a few friends help lend their thumbs for a sufficient review}

I felt comfortable from the beginning that I could trust them. I have run against so so many untrustworthy places. They did nice job on my wife’s 10 year old Mitsubishi.

I believe that we were charged very unfairly when we took two of our cars here in the same week.
We have been coming here for auto repair for years. I posted a review about my experience here on Unilocal as well as Google review.
The owner called me right away. He met with me at my convenience and listen to my complaints and agreed that we had not been charged correctly. H
e happily refunded me the portion that I felt was unfair. He was extremely nice and I felt he genuinely wanted to run an honest auto repair shop! I will continue to take my car here again as I have for many years.
I was unhappy and he made it right!!!

Dependable, reliable service. I have been a customer for 20 plus years and have never found a more trustworthy mechanic!!!

Very impressed with the customer service and clarity when going over repairs needed. Clean waiting area with beverages and tv. Brian is very efficient and knowledgable. Definitely my new go-​to auto service company!

I have been going to Same Day for several years mostly just for oil changes. When I need something extra done they always manage to fit it in with my oil appointment and hardly ever do I have to come back for a separate appointment. My brakes went out over the weekend and I called them first thing on a Monday morning they told me to bring my car in and they had it done by 3:30pm that afternoon. I could have also rented a car from them if I needed to. I appreciate their understanding of my urgent situation and they have always done their best to accommodate. I highly reccommend this shop for their service and always friendly customer service.

Today was the first time I have ever been to Same Day Auto Service. My grandpa knew my car needed work and told me to go there since he’s been going for awhile and trusted them. I called over the phone on Friday and told them the make and model of my car and what needed to be fixed. He gave me an estimate, and one part was cheaper than my usual mechanic’s price and one was a bit more spendy, so I told him the cheaper quote and he matched the price right on the spot. No questions asked.
I took it in and dropped off my keys in the early afternoon. He then called a few hours later and walked me through ALL the problems my car had. He said he wanted to be honest about what was going on with my car and wanted to talk me through it all before deciding what I needed to do and what I didn’t need to do.
The fact that my car is even still running is a miracle, so I knew he wasn’t just trying to trick me or have work unnecessary work done. He worked with me and listened to what I was needing and what I was willing to spend. It was done the same day before closing without any problems. The price was right and the customer service was exceptional. Really above and beyond. Gerry or Jerry (excuse my spelling) was so kind and honest. I usually loathe going to the mechanics, hence why my car is a disaster, because I JUST HATE GOING… so I wouldn’t. But now I will be going here from now on. He took the time to talk to me about what car purchase I was going to need next, and why I should choose a certain make over another. He was informative and just a good hearted person. I got ice cold water, an awesome tote and just such friendly service. There was hardly even a wait as well, he was just finishing up my paperwork as I walked in. I walked out of a mechanic with an actually smile on my face which has never happened before in my life. Thank you Same Day Auto Service, I’ll be recommending you guys to all my friends and family!

Good service at a decent rate.

They beat the dealership by several hundred dollars and did not try to sell me a bunch of stuff my car does not need.

Great service and great people. Been going there for years. Always very honest and helpful.
