Specialties
In business since 1988, Pro Cyc is the world leading manufacturer of seamless modular cove systems used to build cyclorama studios. These «cycs» are used frequently in television, film and video production as well as in professional photography studios. Cycloramas are often used in green screen virtual set productions, also known as «chroma key» technology, where a virtual background is inserted in place of the green screen for the final product.
Pro Cyc backgrounds can be found in the studios of some of the world’s most prestigious companies (Nike, CNN, Google, Apple, NBC, ABC, CBS, Boeing, and hundreds more), as well as in many high schools, colleges and universities, churches, art institutes, rental studios and smaller production studios. Due to the modular nature of our products, literally no studio space or budget is too large or small for a Pro Cyc studio.
Pro Cyc also manufactures the popular line of tabletop product photography studios known as MyStudio Tabletop Photo Studios. The MyStudio line is the #1 selling brand of tabletop photo studios and light tents on Amazon.com and B&H Photo — Video based in New York City.
History
Established in 1988.
Since the late 1980’s when Portland, Oregon based photographer Fritz von Tagen developed the molds for the very first modular cyclorama studio, Pro Cyc has been at the forefront of infinity studio technology. From the company’s inception, when Pro Cyc offered only built-in studios, to meeting the market’s demand for freestanding cycloramas, to the latest Pro Cyc product, the Portable Green Screen, Pro Cyc has established itself as the premier solution for professional quality cyc walls and virtual set backgrounds. And as virtual studios and virtual sets using green screen, blue screen and chroma key technology have become more and more a part of just about any serious video production studio, Pro Cyc has kept pace by continually refining our existing products while continuing to develop new ones, ensuring that our customers always have access to the best seamless background solutions for just about any situation.
Meet the Manager
Sean V.
Manager
At the end of the summer in 2007, after selling an internet company that he had built and operated for several years, Sean began working for Pro Cyc in October 2007. Fritz von Tagen, Sean’s father, had started the business in 1988 and recruited his son to take on the roll of launching the new MyStudio product line of tabletop photo studios into the market in early 2008. Within the next several years MyStudio had become the most popular brand of tabletop photo studios on Amazon.com and at B&H Photo-Video and Sean was promoted to President where he currently oversees product development, marketing and strategic partnerships for the company.
