My family and I were visiting from Southern California and stumblede stumbled upon Thai Orchid and WOW what a find. AWESOME food and service! W We had the coconut chicken soup, drunken noodle, spicy basil chicken, Thai basil fried rice, and pineapple fried rice, and all was excellent. Reasonable prices were a plus. The water was filtered which was a big plus!

Super yummy and great service! Calamari was delicious, and the Thai Hot Pot was also really tasty. Will be back again to try out more dishes!

A dear friend of mine brought me to this fantastic restaurant for lunch! It has been open for a little over a year and I hadn’t seen it prior to today, it’s in a stretch of little stores and easily missed. Course, I had my favorite Thai entrée, Pad Thai(their entrée was called Pud Thai, never heard it called that before, but nonetheless, delicious!) I’m a stickler for having my food served hot off the stove and it was perfect. I had a bite of my friend’s Drunken Noodles, wow, another great dish and could taste the perfect basil favoring, I will try this next time, which I’m sure will be soon! As a side note, my friend and I hadn’t seen each other in quite a while and had a lot to catch up on. It was after lunch and the restaurant was pretty empty, so we found ourselves chatting for a couple hours in our little corner, the server was very friendly, filled our water glasses a few times and didn’t hover.(I am always careful not to overstay at a table if they’re busy.) Highly, highly recommended!

We have been looking for a neighborhood Thai restaurant. Stopped in about 30 min before closing and ordered the drunken noodles with chicken, red curry and jasmine rice. Very happy with all. Service was very friendly and the food was served quick. We will definitely go back and try something else.

While the gentleman who took my order over the phone was nice, the food was awful. I ordered vegetable spring rolls and all that was in them was lettuce and rice noodles and they were $ 5! I also asked for spicy pineapple fried rice with brown rice. The whole thing was mushy and not spicy at all. I thought with 4 ½ stars that I would get something tasty, but I was severely disappointed.

I confess, I have been here a few times and initially found this place through the Entertainment book which has a buy one get one free entrée offer and had nothing but great feelings after the first visit. I tried to use the online Unilocal coupon this evening and was told it wasn’t accepted any longer. Our waiter told me that people had been abusing the online entertainment coupon and that’s why they refused to honor it any longer but that they still accept the paper Entertainment coupon. I told the very polite gentlemen that I had never tried using the online discount and that I thought it was deceptively false advertising since it brings business in only to refuse the discount. With that said, we were able to work it out and they served us with the caveat that the online coupon was no longer accepted due to the aforementioned issues they have experienced. To Valerie K whose review I read before posting this. I’m sorry you were refused your online coupon and i’m guessing in retrospect they probably regret it but maybe the system was being abused? I honestly don’t know. Either way, I understand your frustration and am sorry you were put in the situation you were, coming from one Entertainment member to another. Regarding the food. Perhaps the alleged abuse of the online Entertainment coupons comes from the fact that your food is REALLY good IMO! People rarely abuse coupon systems when the food sucks, just a personal observation, but I know restaurants go into business to be profitable. Angel Wings are served in a trio here for $ 8. Every other thai restaurant I have been to serves the angel wings in a pair but here you get 3 perfectly cooked wings with a savory thai chili dipping sauce for the same price. Wings are packed full, crispy and almost a meal by themselves. I appreciate that angel wings take time to prepare and wanted to highlight the bonus of the extra wing. Glass Noodles with chicken dish here comes with vegetables incorporated into the dish but the noodles and flavors of the dish are addictive. Will order this again after exploring more of their menu. Sizzling beef curry dish was really good this evening. The yellow curry tasted like it had plenty of coconut milk and coupled with the beef which had a light peanut sauce on top that was excellent with some steamed rice. Pad Thai here is a medium sized portion. The sweet and the sour mix with the accompanying flavors are excellent. I literally could eat this all day and then for leftovers the next day. Water tastes filtered and the service has been nothing but stellar. All that said, I wish I had another paper coupon(-; all joking aside, in the future when i’m craving reliably good thai food, I am coming back here.

I was craving for Thai food and so I’ve decided to give this place a try as I wanted to try out new Thai restaurants. I’ve went in on a Friday night and ordered Pad Thai, Duck Curry, and the Chicken Basil. The wait time for my food was pretty fast as I was the only customer being served at the time. The Pad Thai was a bit salty but then again, my sodium intake is very low. It was my first duck curry so I cannot compare it yet. And the chicken basil was okay.

My mother and I just finished eating lunch here for our first time. It will definitely not be our last visit. We were pleasantly surprised by the welcoming, clean, and well decorated interior. The staff was kind, and kept our waters full throughout the meal. The food was prepared quickly and tasted absolutely delicious. I had also never had Iced Thai Coffee before, and it’s changed my life for the better. There’s no going back now.

We ordered a few items to go and weren’t that impressed. My wife got their curry chicken and said it didn’t have much flavor. Also was sick for three days after. I always order Pad Thai when I first try a new place. If you get that right, I’ll keep coming back. The Pad Thai barely had any flavor and the rice noodles were under cooked. A lot of money for mediocre food and the possibility of getting sick will steer me clear of this place.

ATTN: Owner will ban you from restaurant over less than stellar Unilocal reviews! I decided to give this place another shot today as we figured the last time we were here must have been a bad day. We came and we saw a sign that they are no longer taking entertainment coupons on mobile. The owner explained that they no longer take mobile device coupons. OK. My husband went to check the book for a paper coupon and all of a sudden the owner made a snarky comment about how he remembered me and that I was«mean and upset» last time, which was entirely untrue. I was like«excuse me?» He went on to say how my 2 star Unilocal review cost him business, so he said he didn’t want my business and refused to serve me. In front of other customers no less. Wow. If that’s how you’re going to respond to honest feedback instead of trying to make a better experience, you don’t deserve any business. As someone who works for corporate and helps over 60 store managers and franchise owners resolve customer issues like these, I have never in my life seen such unprofessionalism or felt so humiliated. You could have easily redeemed yourself and earned a 4 or 5 star review this time, but you chose to be salty. So here’s your one star review. I hope everyone boycotts your business. Have a nice day.

This place is authentic and delicious. They really play with your pallet. I hate curry and their curry pops are to die for. Perfect amount of flavor. This place is worth the 30minute drive.

I loved the atmosphere and the customer service. I just wish the food had been better. The restaurant was cute and very clean. Waters were refilled, servers were polite and attentive. We were one of just three occupied tables during our dinner. The food was just a big letdown because most of it was so bland. The Chicken Coconut Soup was full of flavor and the best part of the meal. I liked that it was served over flame to keep it a warm, but not too hot, temperature. The Thai Delight was so bland that I didn’t really enjoy eating it. The Sweet and Sour Chicken was better, but also lacked flavor. I’ve had sweet and sour dishes at a multitude of Thai restaurants, and this one ranks probably second to last. My mom did order mild spice, so that may have affected the flavor a little, but my mom orders mild spice all the time at Thai restaurants, and we’ve never experienced such bland flavor before. The white, skinny guy was a great server, and I really do appreciate such good service.

Went here on a Thursday and it was quiet at dinner time. Got seated right away, the server was beyond polite. The Thai iced coffee was fantastic! We ordered two entrees and the were served very very quickly and tasted great. I got a 4 on the spice level and it had some kick, can’t imagine a 10. The bill wasn’t top expensive, pretty average I’d say for 2 people. Will be going again for sure.

Three stars because they wouldn’t take my Entertainment book coupon. Just got the new book in the mail and the coupons look different than they did before. The food was really good and the service was great until my coupon was denied. Be sure to bring your book with you if you want to use a coupon from the Entertainment book!

Went there for dinner tonight and it was AMAZEBALLS!!! YOUVISITTHISHIDDENGEM! The service was impeccable. Our waiter was attentive, sweet, and so friendly. We ordered some fresh spring rolls which were great and their house made peanut dipping sauce was to die. We also ordered fried calamari which was a little on the chewy side but the flavor was great. For the main dishes we ordered drunken noodles and a vegetable curry with steamed rice. With 1 on the spicy scale. Wasn’t too in the mood for spicy food for the night(and we normally LOVE ourselves some spice). Honestly though the 1 was perfect spicy enough to get a decent kick but not like crazy hot. I could see possibly going up a little but would hate to endure their Thai spicy entrees. We loved everything so good the curry was so so flavorful and their drunken noodles were so delish. We just moved to the area and will definitely be regulars. LOVELOVELOVE!

YAAS Y’ALL. I have been on the hunt for just a decent Thai restaurant for the longest time. I have found a WONDERFUL one. Spicy. YES. Authentic. YES Delicious. YES We orderd the pad thai, tom yum with shrimp, papaya salad, and crispy spicy duck. Spice levels are mild, medium, and BEYONDYOURIMAGINATIONS. I was too scared to go beyond my imagination so we ordered everything medium. Let me tell ya, the medium had a good kick to it. Being a lover of all things extra spicy it was just perfect for me. And, with a little bit of rice it’s not too hard to handle. The highlight of my night was definitely the spicy crispy. I wish I knew there was a sauce to it because I definitely would’ve asked for it on the side to keep the duck super crispy. But it was super crispy and I ate rice with just the sauce alone. BOMB. The tom yum portion was very generous. We shared it and it seemed like we were still trying to reach the bottom by the end of the meal. Papaya salad had a kick and came with a side of sticky rice. Definitely my new favorite combination. The pad thai was apparently delicious because my dad killed it and he is probably one of the pickiest eaters on this place. All in all, will return.

My family and I were in need of some Thai food, but had no idea where to go that was close to home. So, of course I turned to Unilocal to try and find a place, and this one came up with great recommendations. The restaurant is pretty new, very clean, and the customer service is great! Everyone is smiling, welcoming, and incredibly accommodating. I had a big family, luckily it wasn’t too busy, so we were able to get a great spot to sit. My family and I decided to order a bunch of plates and dishes to share. I’ll go ahead and list what we ordered and my recommendations. 1. Papaya Salad: AWESOME. Authentic and spicy, also comes with a side of sticky rice and an interesting fried beef. I’ve never had that option before, but it was very good. For those who cannot handle spicy, definitely stick to mild, because I ordered medium and I already thought it was too hot to handle. 2. Pad Thai: Great flavor, plenty of toppings and again, super authentic. 3. Pad Kee Mao(Drunken noodles) with beef: Nice pillowy noodles, fresh, flavorful, but really spicy(I ordered medium), if you can handle the spice, go for it! 4. Tom Yum Soup(w/shrimp): Great kick of spice, flavorful with perfectly cooked shrimp and lots of veggies. The broth truly is amazing! 5. Spicy Crispy Duck: If you like duck, this is the plate for you. Delicious duck w/extra crispy skin with a great mouth watering sauce atop.(Although next time I would ask for the sauce on the side so the crispy skin doesn’t get too soggy) HIGHLYRECOMMENDED! 6. Fried Banana w/your choice of Ice Cream: Portion is small, but none the less tasty and super authentic. Highly recommended! Everything was great! This was the first time our entire family finished EVERYTHING in site. No to go boxes at all! If you couldn’t already tell, I definitely recommend this place for anyone in the Citrus Heights/Orangevale area!

Quaint little restaurant located off of in a strip mall off of Sunrise Blvd in the same shopping as the Dollar Store. Greeted and seated immediately by host/server, nice and personable. Super cute restaurant with tasteful décor. The place was a quarter full. I ordered my usual Thai staple, Shrimp Pad Thai. At $ 9, it included a bowl of egg flower soup and a potato puff pastry. The food came out quickly. The soup was, «perfect.» It was immediately followed by my lunch choice. I was taken aback by the portion size. It was less than half the size of my favorite Thai place, with five small pieces of shrimp. Ok, I was hoping that the dish would blow me away. Well, it didn’t happen, to my dismay, it was average. Ordered it spicy but had to ask for more spices. Better for it to lack spiciness than too much. I’ll probably return to try some of the other dishes and re rate if needed.

Super excited to see a new thai restaurant pop up in this neighborhood. Small, but nicely laid out with pretty décor. I ordered my usual take-out test meal: chicken pad see ew and an order of fresh rolls. I wasn’t asked the spice level I desired and I wish I had been asked or spoken up since what I received had good flavor but had no heat at all. Had to add my own chili sauce. Next time I will make sure to specify. Fresh rolls were just ok. Portion was small for the price too… won’t be ordering again. Peanut sauce was thinner and sweeter than most thai places. I will definitely be back to try another order and update review accordingly.
