Restore Your Floor Hardwood Flooring

I called John to ask for help in a small project I’m working on (patching the hole left by a floor furnace) as I couldn’t find the correct hardwood flooring. John was more than happy to point me in the right direction (Pacific Flooring Supply) which was able to get me the supplies I needed. He didn’t get anything out of this transaction other than a very happy do-it-yourself’er and I will definitely be calling John back when I need to refinish my hardwood floors next year.

John came out to give me an estimate as soon as I called. The quality of his work and materials are among the highest you can get. The finished product is absolutely beautiful. They pay close attention to detail, which I appreciate. It took a little long to get the key back/​finish up– but my floors look amazing so it’s totally worth it! Will use him again when needed.

I am pleased with the work John and his team did refinishing my floors. (I have received many complements from neighbors on my floors who were amazed that they could look so good.) I have a physical disability and John and his team were also extremely helpful in moving furniture around and doing cleanup that I am unable to do due to my physical limitations. I really appreciated this, because some contractors are unwilling to go that extra mile. John was also good about getting back to me in a timely manner when we needed to communicate with one another.

When we first called, John answered, and to our surprise he was waiting for a contractor near my new home and would be able to do an estimate within a few hours. Excited about the fast response, we decided to head over to the new house and unpack a few boxes. After several hours (3 to be exact) we called… no answer, left a message. waited a few more hours (2 ½) called, again no answer, and message left. 5 days later, a text message arrived from another number stating that they have tried several times to contact us and left a voice message to set up a date and time to do an estimate. Only problem is, the number that I used to contact restore your floor, does not have a voicemail that is set up, and the only information on my phone for restore your floor is from the many times I tried and was unsuccessful in contacting them. I am very impressed with the pictures that are posted however there seems to be a trend on the comments for this business in the communication department. At first I was extremely disappointed because I liked what I saw online, however now I am grateful because if there were any problems with the work, I can only imagine the headache I would go through trying to get it repaired.

We recently bought a house that had hardwood floors in need of some help. The previous owners did some some bad repairs, caused damaged to other parts with animal pee and a used an old rug to cover the problems up. Restore Your Floor was able to fix all the issues and our floors look amazing. No more need to use rugs to hide old problems!

When I first called and got John on the phone instantly, I was impressed. I told him my issue and he recommended I text him photos and he’d review and get back to me. That was also impressive. That’s where the good service stopped. I’ve sent several texts and called several times and have never heard back. It’s been 2 months now. Unfortunate.

John and his son came out on short notice on a Sunday to look over and quote on my newly purchased 50’s home. Everything was explained clearly and gave advice on what would look good and what would not, but left the ultimate decision to me. They are a courteous, professional family business. They did a great job refinishing my whole house including baseboards, all the hauling, and my red oak floors are looking fantastic.

We had subterranean termites that had eaten through one plank of our entire hardwood floor. John and his team worked hard to match a new plank and the results were wonderful. We can’t even see the difference between the old floor and the new plank. The floor looks beautiful and we only had to have the repair done on the one plank. They did such a good job and were so diligent at containing all the smells, dust, etc. I would definitely use them when we decide to redo the entire floor.

I bought a new house and had quickly realized I needed my floors re-​finished before I moved in, thus time was of the essence when I started to call floor repair and restoration companies. I quickly got a hold of John at Restore Your Floor, who scheduled me quickly, came out took a look, gave me a cheap quick quote and had the work done the next morning! John kept to the low quote price and didn’t try any add-​ons or anything like that. Oh, and the floors looked great! Much better than before. John and his team did a beautiful job restoring our floors and got the color exactly as we wanted it! We discovered hardwood under carpet after purchasing a fifty year old home and now they look as good as new. They were accommodating with our schedule and came right away to do their bid. We love our new (old) floors!

I have called three times this week and haven’t heard back. Now, I would hesitate to use him given the poor communication experience I have had. As a business owner myself, I don’t understand why people can’t just text «sorry, too busy» so I could find other resources.

I did hear back from the owner and he was very apologetic. I was unable to try his business though since I had found another resource. So this review only covers the communication issue. I can’t address the quality of his work, which judging by the others reviews is fine.

John and Estefania do beautiful work. We’ve been very happy with the restoration job they did on our floors. The price was average for the size of job and their service was prompt and professional.
Unfortunately I have to take 1 star off because I asked for my key back multiple times in person and over the phone. Each time John said he would give it back soon but he never did and after a few weeks we gave up and re-​keyed the locks.
Too bad! It was a lame ending to an otherwise great experience.

John and his crew just finished working on my home in Land Park. The living and family rooms had existing wood floors under the carpeting while two bedrooms had existing hardwood floors. The third bedroom, den, kitchen, hallway, and laundry room had linoleum or funky tile (not asbestos). We wanted the entire house to have hardwood floors and to completely match from one room to the next. John did a great job making sure the work was finished on time and that the floors looked magnificent. I highly recommend him!

As a professional businessman, I can appreciate a business that takes care of my clients. From start to finish, John did just that. While I was diligently trying to get the escrow closed for my buyer during thanksgiving week, John and his crew waited patiently and started the job literally hours after closing escrow. They even worked through the weekend in order to finish because of the tight moving schedule for my buyer. The floors turned out magnificent! John Rouse has been a breath of fresh air working with professionals to restore my 1955 humble abode! He is very professional, competitively priced and extremely thorough in his work. He is also a 3^rd generation floor restorer! No job is too small or large as he brought back to life my living room and kitchen.

I called John at Restore Your Floor to get an estimate on refinishing my hardwood floors, had to leave a message but was pleased to have him call back within 2 hrs, he drove out to my location (40+miles) and inspected floors and discussed options. His estimate was considerably less than several competitors so I reviewed Unilocal reviews and was satisfied of quality of his work. We scheduled work to be done while we were on vacation and were surprised to hear they had finished ahead of schedule. Returned home in evening and was blown away by how good floors looked. John always returned all phone calls and texts within several hours, showed up on time and after repairs completed cleaned up after themselves (house was probably cleaner after than before). I would highly recommend John and Stephanie of Restore Your Floor for all your flooring needs.

We just purchased our first home with original hardwood floor throughout the house. John and his crew was able to re-​coat our floors at a convenient time and do an outstanding job for the price. I highly recommend these guys and would use them again without a second thought.

Long story, short — I was a guest in someone’s house and whilst I was moving the furniture around to see how it could work better, I, unbeknownst to me, was also dragging a screw that was exposed on one of the legs all around on their pristine wood floors. OH MY **&&#^%^#&*. Panic ensues.
I called John and explain my desperate situation. He was so nice and agreed to come out the next day to look at the damage and give me an estimate. He was super knowledgeable about the floor, the wood, the finishes, and was very clear about potential issues and options.
One star — John was prompt, attentive and came right away when I said it was an emergency.
Two stars — He was super knowledgeable about the floor and how his products would work with it. He took me through the process and covered all of the questions I wouldn’t have thought to or known to ask. HUGE PLUS.
Three stars — He gave me clear options on how to proceed and didn’t try to sell me on the more expensive solution. In fact, he told me that the cheaper option would more than likely fix the floors up to 99%. Because it wasn’t my floor and I wanted to make sure the owner was satisfied, he even laid out a plan in case 99% wasn’t good enough and how to get it to 100%.
Four stars — I was leaving and had to pay him before the work was done putting my trust in him that he would still make it a priority. He did! The work was done as soon as possible when the owner was available. Wha!!! Personal integrity is a big one in my book. IMHO, he gets a zillion stars for this alone.
Five stars — And here’s the big one — none of the above matters if the job wasn’t done well, but the floor came out looking fantastic. I went back later and couldn’t see a single scratch. Not only did he fix the scratches, the rest of the floor got an amazing face lift too!
I would recommend Restore Your Floor to anyone. John’s a hard worker with a ton of integrity and really knows his stuff. He had very fair prices and it’s awesome to find someone that you can really trust. I’m impressed that this has been a family business for 4 generations. You can really tell the difference!
