I am super sad that this place is closed. Smashburger would always be my go-to treat on long run days, the baja burger(with smash fries and sans bun, of course) is my favorite. Something about that chipotle mayo gets me every time! To-go or in-store, I’d love swinging by for some guilty pleasure grub. Now I have to go all the way to Kentucky for my Smashburger fix! There’s no way 5 guys even holds a candle to this place. Again, it was a sad day when I stopped by to see a closed sign on the door. Come back! We miss you already!

I’ve been here twice, once for dine-in and most recently carry-out. In both circumstances I’ve received terrible service. When I dined-in, they forgot my food all together delivering all my friends food, but not mine. She apologized and said she would take care of it. 15 minutes later I went to the counter to see what was going on and found out she forgot to do anything about it. My friends were done eating by the time I actually received my food. For my recent carry-out I ordered one of their burgers online along with an Oreo shake. When I arrived to pick it up I stood at the counter for about five minutes before someone asked if they could help me despite their being no line and it not being very busy. I told him my name and he went to grab my order. My milkshake, which was already pricey at $ 4.30 was about ¾ of the way full. I asked the employee about it and he stated«that’s just how we do it.» So I politely stated that if that was the case, I’d like to just return it and get my money back. His reply was that they couldn’t do that because I ordered online and then he walked away. I considered calling him back over and asking to talk to the manager, but I was in a hurry and didn’t feel like waiting and dealing with it. In terms of the food, the shakes are good and the burgers are ok which is about what I expected and really the only thing that salvaged me giving them 2-stars instead of one. The food is certainly not good enough to outweigh the terrible service. I won’t be back.

This place is exactly what you want it to be. Delicious burger/chicken sammich, plus unique topping combinations. I love the sweet potato fries! The food comes out fairly quick and it’s a great place to stop when you don’t want to cook dinner. Even better, you get coupons for free fries every time you go so you have a reason to go back

So I gave smashburger a second chance and I am glad that I did, it was delicious. I ordered the same order as last time and they did get all my toppings this time. Plus the employees were so curious and friendly and they wanted to make sure they got it right. Definitely one of my top places for a quick meal.

This is incredible quality at great price. Not a better $ 2.95 shake in town(made with Haagen Daaz), juicy, piping hot burgers. Not a fan of the shoestring style onion rings but the fries were crispy and hot. Service friendly and fast. We will be back.

This is a great place to go when you’re just craving a yummy burger, fast, but way better than fast food. There are a lot of healthy & tasty options too so if you want something other than a burger & fries, you can grab a tender chicken sandwich done a ton of different ways, salads & veggies. But, back to the burgers… that’s kind of the point. I always get the same one: truffle butter mayo, mushrooms & swiss(or changed to cheddar) because I love the combo so much. The smashfries with herbs and haystack onions are equally good & each lightly fried. My husband always goes for the chicken sandwich with goat cheese, spinach & cucumber. He loves the seemingly marinated & pounded out tender chicken so much he never feels left out because he’s subbing«the healthy choice.» One day we’ll just have to stop in for a shake as they look great, but we’re always too full after a meal. Also, the staff are always willing & even ask if you need or want something & are eager to help. I haven’t seen that kind of service in a non-tip, fast casual place, maybe, ever.

Solid burger joint– quick, not too pricey, super casual. I like that there are chicken and vegetarian options, and veggie fries! You can pick from a variety of topping combinations to add to your burger. A regular sized burger with some fries is plenty for me. The shakes are made with Haagan Daaz ice cream and are huge. Yum! This is a good lunch spot, and pretty kid friendly. I noticed they even had Honest brand kids juice!

I love smash burger! I’ve been to another location in Louisville(this one seems a bit smaller but maybe that’s just me) anyways that certainly did not take away my experience! I arrived and the person taking the food order super super friendly! I ordered my usual black bean burger and fries and did it live up to it’s expectations? You bet it did!!! I was super impressed with manager who came by to make sure everything was okay. Will I come back to smash burger? You can count on it!

Fool me once shame on you, Fool me twice shame on me. The only reason to go to Smashburger is for the smash fries but after several failed attempts to warm up to the burger, the fries alone are no longer a reason to go back. I honestly took one bite out of my burger last night and threw it in the trash. The buns are always dry, the burgers lack flavor and my bacon cheeseburger didn’t have any bacon on it. I paid $ 1.00 to add mushrooms and I may have had 2 mushroom slices on the burger. You get a much better burger, toppings and experience from Five Guys.

This was my first time eating at Smashburger. I had a buy one get one burger free coupon, so the price was great — cheaper than McDonalds. However, I did not care for the taste of my chicken sandwich or fries. Overall, the grease and oils felt old and stale. My husband disagreed though, so maybe you will too! Worth a try if you want some quick cheap food in the area, but I do not think I will be back.

I really enjoyed this burger. It had a good amount of toppings– lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, and onion and the burger was a good size. I liked the french fries. They were skinny french fries and did not have too much salt, which I appreciated. I had a coupon and got two burgers and fries for under $ 7, which is a good deal! I just tried the typical Smashburger, but they have a lot of other options that you can try. They do have a gluten-free bun, which is nice since a lot of burger places don’t offer this option. The restaurant was a typical burger joint, but I did notice TVs. It was pretty empty when I was there. There is a huge parking lot with plenty of parking. The cashier was busy with one family and pretty slow, but the manager came over and checked me out since my order was take-out so I did not have to wait. It seems from the other reviews that the service is not always great, but for a great burger definitely something to consider if you want take-out!

I like this place. Nothing lasts in that plaza. The place is never full. The burgers and service are great. It is just too far off of Madison road for people to see. Please go there and keep them going … they deserve it

We ordered 2 different burgers, onion straws, and the veggie frites. I was excited about the veggie option, but the carrots and green beans were so greasy I didn’t really enjoy them. The burgers were so salty that neither of us could finish, even though we were both super hungry. And we typically like salty food! The excess salt may have been a fluke, but the service at the counter was mediocre and nearly every table was dirty, so I doubt we will give smash burger another chance. There are too many other decent burger joints around to even bother.

Incredibly stupid concept. The central rule in cooking burgers is to NOT smash them or push them down because that drains the juices. The result is a small, crispy, DRY patty. One of the worst restaurant burgers I’ve had because they broke one of the cardinal rules! The fries and service were good, though, but not enough to redeem the burger destruction.

This is hands-down the best burger I’ve had in Cincinnati. This may be blasphemy when there’s Arthur’s not too far away, but I said and I’ll say it again, the burger I had at Smashburger is the best I’ve had so far. The goodness of the burger lies in the customizability and simplicity: there are base options you can order upon which you can build, if so desired. Honestly, it’s a gourmet burger at a not-so-gourmet price. I got the avocado club. Maybe that’s not fair. If you add bacon and avocado to anything, it’s gonna be infinitely better, but man oh man, this combination was delicious. But I also always add a fried egg to my gourmet burgers which still kept my total under $ 8 which put me in burger heaven. The patty was moist and I enjoyed how the smash sauce added to the overall flavor profile.(It’s a little like the secret sauce at In-n-Out slash thousand island dressing) The burger was good to the last bite. Smashfries! Now, I’ve never met a potato I didn’t like, but I love shoestring fries. They just capture the appropriate fry to potato ratio. Smashfries are technically thinner than shoestring fries though so don’t be alarmed when they literally look like fried shreds of potato. Fear not, they’re tossed in rosemary, olive oil, and garlic packs a flavor punch that you didn’t know you were missing. Oreo shake — it’s definitely big enough to be shared with another person. It’s handmade, and made to order so you taste the love in between the many Oreo bits and vanilla ice cream. Oh and the best part? If you sign up for the Smashburger club, they send email coupons all the time. And if that’s not enough, Costco sells a $ 50 gift certificate for $ 40. Guess who has one of those bad boys burning a hole in my pocket?

I got a coupon for Smashburger in the mail, so my husband and I decided to check it out. It is good, though I like the flavor of 5 Guys burgers better. There are, however, a lot more options, and interesting ones, too, at Smashburger, so if you’re feeling something more gourmet than 5 Guys and don’t want to spend a lot, head there. The place is clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. Would definitely go again if in the area.

I really like the food at Smashburger– rosemary garlic fries, fun burger toppings. And, for me, it’s a great location. Easy to walk to, but plenty of parking if I’m feeling lazy. But the service sucks royally! It’s so slow and careless. It feels like the place is continually without a manager, leaving the employees to their own whims. Menu item availability also reminds me of my many experiences of restaurants in the South. As I try to order each item, the waitress sweetly intones, «Oh hon, we’re out of that today,» until I’m reduced to asking, «What DO you have for me to eat?» I’ve yet to try the veggie frites at Smashburger because they are always out.

When you visit Smashburger, you MUST try the truffle mushroom swiss burger! While the burger meat itself is delicious and lightly packed(read: not rubbery!), the truffle mayo is what elevates this burger to another level. It tastes expensive without breaking your budget(only $ 5.99), making each bite blissful. Seems like there are plenty more delicious items that I have yet explored– the veggie frites definitely look tempting, as do the Haagen Daz milkshakes, but I will save those until next time. Great addition to Hyde Park!

Smash fries are amazing. Delicious. Thinking about them make my mouth water. In other news, their classic Cobb salad is huge and plentiful. I added chicken to my salad and it ended up being completely unnecessary. It was also an expensive add-on! The fried egg and bacon in the salad is plenty of protein. On the whole, the food was good — not great. The exception being the fries tossed in herbs. I visited the restaurant at non-peak hours. There wasn’t much traffic and yet, I was left waiting 15 – 20 minutes for a carry out order of fries and a salad. Annoyed was I. Unfortunately, this long wait time negated the super friendly demeanor on the cashiers.

After coming here for a Unilocal Elite event I bragged about it to some friends and dragged them out to dinner. The food was delicious and prompt but it seems like they’re still working out some kinks. The girl working the front seemed a little flustered and confused. She gave us free drinks though(not sure if she meant to or was supposed to…). They forgot the avocado on my friend’s avocado burger but when I mentioned it they apologized and brought it out right away. With a little more time this place will certainly be a favorite. The atmosphere is great, the food is amazing and they have local beer. I recommend the chicken avocado club, their«smashfries»(fries with olive oil and rosemary) and their NutterButter milkshake(so good!). If you haven’t tried it yet, definitely give it a go but don’t expect perfection. At least not yet.
