My boyfriend and I stayed at this Victorian mansion turned B&B last week. I have a thing for Victorian history, so I was very excited to see that the house maintained a Victorian look while also serving as a residence for the Parkers — a lovely couple that operate the Inn. As far as the pros go, the rooms are actually suites, and are HUGE! We had a living room, bedroom, and bathroom — all larger than any apartment I’ve looked at recently. There was also free WiFi. Everything was very clean and comfortable, although the bed was a little too firm for my preference. Mark, the Innkeeper, is a very friendly man and quite the talker — so expect lots of stories and time spent with him. He made us a delicious breakfast of the best french toast I have ever had, along with fresh fruit, juice, and coffee. You could use the kitchen and living areas however you pleased, and you had a key to the front door and private parking behind the house. I also liked how close the house was to good eats and the famous Eden Park. We chose a German restaurant around the corner. Why this place didn’t receive 5 stars is actually not the Inn’s fault, but rather its location. The Univ of Cincinnati is not too far away, so a lot of the buildings on the street are occupied by college students. We were there on a Saturday, and there were several parties going on in the neighborhood. I had to sleep with ear plugs in because of all of the noise. The street is also very dirty with trash, crowded, and would be safer as a one-way.
