I seemed to have better luck than this poor woman. I dropped off my import (they seem to know European cars best) and had me wait at the shop while they test drove the car in an effort to duplicate the problem. Not only was he able to discover the problem described, he also noticed a few other things that were awry. Not always the fastest, but they always do repairs fully and with care. Usually they get to know you by name. (Pesky european car maintenance)
