They should put labels all over the place with something like, «STD prone area. Stay at your own risk». This is how unhealthy and unhygienic this place is. There was no soap in the men’s or women’s room(yes I checked that too) and despite asking for it for few times from both bartenders(inside and outside) they still didn’t get the soap arranged. It’s kinda hypocritical that on one side, in bathroom they had information about how to get yourself checked for AIDS and on the other hand they don’t even provide soap for customers. Imagine so many people shaking their unwashed hands.

I go here on Thursday nights when it turns into goth night. I really don’t have alot of complaints about this place. I just go to dance all night. For that part, they play good dancing music and have the whole light effects and smoke. The people who are on the dance floor, really don’t care what the next person is doing, and that’s nice. The downfalls; they really need to fix the ladies bathroom and to me, their bar is a tad bit overpriced.

As an outsider looking in, I can see how locals might enjoy this bar. But, I am not a local, so I don’t really know the history or culture of this bar. Was in town for Labor Day weekend fireworks. I wanted to hit up Below Zero Lounge but my friend wanted to come here, so we did. It was a foam party night and there were quite a few people there. The bar itself– Is very, very small. Quite possibly one of the smallest bars I have ever been to. Granted, the other half was filled with foam, that area seemed really small itself. It has a bar, maybe 6 chairs surrounding the table. A pool table was right near the door with maybe two or three tiny bistro tables. The staff– I wasn’t really impressed with the staff, but I am not really ever impressed with the staff at any gay bar. The girl at the door was quite rude when I tried to strike up a small conversation with her. But, the kicker was THEOWNER. This was a foam night, I get it. Our bartender had given us glass bottles, which I assume is a no-no as the owner very rudely came up to us and said WHEREAREYOURPLASTICCUPS. My friend and I were very confused, once we figured out that our bartender made a mistake, he said«which bartender was it», and said«its the bartenders fault, not yours» The kinda made me uncomfortable, as I don’t think you should talk poorly about your employees in front of customers. We then offered to go outside and drink it on the patio, he actually laughed at us, walked away and got us cups. I was trying to poor mine and we went to grab my bottle, I wasn’t done and i told him«one second». He actually physically got annoyed with me and tapped my foot. We let him know this was our first time here and didn’t understand anything about the bar. He walked away from us and had no patience. I hate when owners of businesses I am frequenting act rudely to customers, especially new customers. Unfortunate, this was our first(and only) trip to the Dock Complex. Oh, and $ 4.50 for a Bud Light its kind of expensive, especially when I am forced to drink it out of a Red Solo Cup.

I have to give you the 3 stars. because these drag queens do their homework. I wasn’t keen on the space or location. I was more impressed with the queens’ hard work and passion to perform. Yes, it wasn’t like totally crowded or anything, but their energy kept on going. I was quite shocked that this was one of few places that people do go on Fridays here. Mmm.

This place smells like syphilis, they don’t take plastic, and the crowd is pretty sketchy.

What happens when the only goth club in the city closes? The best gay club in the city starts a pretty successful industrial night. The Dock has been an occasional hangout since college. I saw my first drag show, helped promote a touring band performing there and have spent many nights sipping strong beverages and dancing till after hours on Thursdays. This is the best place to regularly find your gender queer, black clothed community. Expect to spend a little more for drinks than you would at a normal bar but sip carefully, I’ve found the drinks are stronger than you might find at other bars.
