I ABSOLUTELYLOVETHISPLACE! I tried it for the first time with doubts given the most recent reviews but I’m glad I took a chance! The coffee is amazing, the cinnamon is a great touch. I had their Chilaquiles since it is what they’re known for and they did not disappoint, I even ordered some to-go! The place was extremely busy but they service was great. They weren’t bugging me every 10 minutes but they were friendly and attentive. Overall I would give this place 5 stars, it’s small but worth the wait, I’m definitely coming back!

Overpriced low quality food. Had the chilaquiles verdes with carne asada. The chilaquiles were very watery and the tortillas chips very hard. The asada tasted like old meat. Definitely don’t recommend this place.

I am leaving this place a 1 review because I’ve tried to have breakfast here in the past week, only to note that this place doesn’t open till 8 or whenever the cashier gets there. If this is the case, why not change your actual door sign or the Unilocal hours. It’s called common sense.

One of the reasons we come here is specially for their coffee ! The cinnamon they put in the coffee makes it taste delicious . Service tends to be slow when they are busy but that’s understandable due to the fact that the place is small and if they had another waitress i don’t think they would make any money . On the other hand the food is good. Try their molletes con chorizo ! To die for !

Second visit here and had a different host/waitress which completely changed the atmosphere of my visit. Excellent service and food quality. This my new go-to spot. Thank you!

Very small location but makes up with huge flavor of food. Good customer service over all a great place to grab some of the best chilaquiles I’ve ever had. Will def be coming back.

The food was absolutely terrible! I spent $ 9 for steak and eggs and the steak was smaller then my palm. The potatoes and chilaquiles were ridiculously over salted and the eggs were dry. The only thing they got right was a can of pop. I would never order here again and do not order from here if you value your health. Waste of $ 40 and ruined breakfast for my family

Food: awesome! Good size portion. Spicy and very flavorful. Service: OK. Friendly enough but not extremely attentive. But I don’t always want someone bugging me throughout breakfast, so I was fine with it. Location/ambiance: kind of out of the way on a quiet street, but easy to find. The place itself is really small without many tables. But I didn’t have to wait some it was a weekday. I wanted to go back with my cousin but I called and it’s not wheelchair accessible, bummer!

First time there and will come back. The place is very quaint and homey. I like that its not pretentious amd snobby. So we tried the chilaquiles verdes, and they were really good. Sauce was spicy but not overly spicy that you cant finish your food. I like the potatoes that are served with them although I wish I could’ve had a lit bit more :). And the beans had a good flavor. They also served us some chips and three different salsas which was nice cause you usually get like one or two. Overall it was a good experience. We pretty much stopped by on way back from a walk so we would definitely go back and try the empanadas :) and other yummy dishes.

The food and café de olla are delicious and reasonably priced but this place is very small so I wouldn’t come with a large group. This place seats maybe 20 people with one cook and one waiter or waitress. I go a lot alone or with my husband for breakfast and have never been unhappy with the food.

I was excited to try this place, so I dragged my sister along, and boy was were we disappointed! First of all, horrible horrible service, one of the girls was in her pajamas, literally looked from head to toe like she just jumped off her bed and came to work. The three girls working here were super rude, I had to get up to go order our food, didn’t even asked if we wanted something to drink. One of them walked past us nd said oh yous are eating here do yous want some chips, ummm well that would be nice. It’s literally a really extremely small room with like 3 tables, the least they can do is offer nice service, I mean c’mon you’re advertising all over your little place that your on help, grubhub, seamless, and Facebook. The least they can do is have good service. Now the food, the food took a really long time to get to us, nd we were dissapointed, the only good thing so far about this place is there«café de holla» So unless, you ask for your food for delivery or want to be treated very rudely I recommend to you, this is the place. But I WOULDNOTRECOMMEND this place at all! I really hope the owners of this place Take the time to read these reviews and pay attention to customer service.

Well I came here because I saw them on Chicago’s Best and I am sorry to say that I was not impress. I had the guallio chilaquiles with 2 eggs and it came with potatoes and refried beans, they were just ok for my taste, it was missing something called favor. My hubby had the menudo and it to lack of favor and there was no meat in there and it was just not the best, sister in-law had the frijoladas chilaquiles and the mole ones too. The best thing by far was the café de olla it was Amazing… Will I come back??? Most likely not. But at Least I can say I been here…

It hurts me to say this but this place really took a nose dive since the new owner took over. They are cutting a lot of corners. The portions have gotten smaller, the sauce for the chilaquiles has been watered down and the chicken tastes like plastic. Very disappointing.

This place was amazing – decently priced with great variety and quality – but the most memorable item was the poblano pepper quesadilla. I actually ordered it because they were out of pumpkin blossoms. Best substitution ever. Please try this.

So a few months ago, «Los Chilaquiles»(same location) went through an ownership change. We miss the original owner, Luis, who was very personable and made you feel like family. However, the staff is still the same(our favorite waitress Frances and Rigo, the chef) and the food quality is still great. There are a few new menu items that I am not fond of, namely the empanadas. I do not think they are authentic /homemade. They taste store bought. If you know the original menu, the original items are all the same and great: the chilaquiles, and fish tacos to name two. The coffee is really good too. Served«black» –it is pre-sweetened and has a hint of cinnamon so you you not need to add anything. They are undergoing some décor changes too to give the place a bit more ambiance. Overall, still happy with the location and the food!

Oh goodness… how do I even start?! Imagine this: four non-Spanish speaking white folk(who were appropriately embarrassed, BTW) ordering enough food for ten. Hunched over our treasure trove of food eaten family style, all conversation stopped and was replaced by the gluttonous sounds of foodie-pleasure. What we ordered: two tamales oaxaquenos($ 3.25 each), chilaquiles rancheros($ 4.95) with 2 eggs($ 2), chilaquiles verdes($ 4.95) with 2 eggs($ 2) and chorizo($ 2.50), burrito de pastor($ 4.25), burrito de carne asada($ 4.95), three cochinita pibil tacos($ 1.95 each) and café de olla($ 2.25 for large). While everything was tasty(seriously), the two favs of the morning with the chilaquiles verdes with chorizo and the burrito de pastor. Any self-respecting person would’ve felt guilty by the amount of food ordered, except we were all mentally plotting how we could secret-eat the leftovers the next day without sharing. While the cost is a bit higher than I’m used to due to the upcharge for each additional item on the chilaquiles, I’ve paid much more for much worse. Be forewarned, their spicey is S.P.I.C.E.Y. so if you’ve got the taste buds of a newborn, don’t get overzealous with the sauces, of which there are TEN! If you’re dining in at one of their five tables, you get the chips/salsa starter. Small, divey and close to the ‘hood where I stay often, I’ll be back.

Arrived on a Saturday morning for breakfast to try their namesake dish-Chilaquiles. I’ve had this delicious dish at several places in the area and was excited to see a new take on the classic. But first, a word on the coffee de la olla. It is absolutely delicious and a must-get. I’ve had Chuck’s version in Burbank, but this is better(and sweeter). To supplement my caffeine fix, I ordered the Diabla variety of the Chilaquiles and added pollo($ 2.50 upcharge). My server warned me that it was spicy, and I said bring it on. I like spicy food, and this was truly spicy. Not so much that it was macho food sport, but rather at the upper end of spiciness without leaving enjoyability behind. The tortilla chips here are fairly thick and robust, providing an excellent base for the Chilaquiles. If they are too thin, they become unpleasantly slimy. These were perfect. My chilaquiles came with rice instead of Mexican style potatoes indicated on the menu. My server made no mention of the swap. The silent substitution was not a big deal to me, but it could bother some. Service was friendly, but inattentive. I wasn’t offered a coffee refill until I asked for the check, nor was I asked how my meal was while I was dining. Thus the 4 star rating instead of 5. I’m not sure if this is my favorite version of Chilaquiles in the area(Perez and Nuevo Leon may be slightly better), but this is absolutely in the ball park. I look forward to coming back and trying some of the other varieties.

Buyer beware. Bought a Unilocal deal for this place. $ 5 for $ 10 worth of food. Presented the coupon when we paid to be told that the place is under new management and they are not called LOS Chilaquiles anymore, but MIS Chilaquiles and the coupons are no longer accepted. They pointed out a small photocopied menu which said Mis Chilaquiles. Nevermind that the sign outside the restaurant still says Los Chilaquiles. Then they feigned surprise that Unilocal is still offering the deal. Um, yes jerks, they are still offering it even today as I type this review. Thanks for the bait and switch. They have a huge Unilocal sticker pasted to the right of the cash register. The food was okay. Nothing great. Just okay. I wasn’t that impressed and the whole coupon thing was awkward and irritating. Would not go all the way out to Cicero for this place again. Would try another. The food wasn’t bad. Just not as great as people are making it out to be. The green salsa was outstanding and very hot and spicy. The red, not so much and had a weird sweetish taste. To quote my boyfriend, we are not cheap, but we are not stupid either.

Too crowded. Had to wait about 15 minutes to sit down. It felt awkward that I was practically hovering over other people while they ate. I was a little disappointed when the food came out, the portions are not as large as I would have thought, and from reading all the other reviews, I thought the food was going to be out of this world mouth watering. It wasn’t. I’ve tried chilaquiles from other restaurants that were better. My boyfriend was even upset because I kept raving about how good the food is, based on the Unilocal reviews. Oh well, lesson learned! The staff was nice though, the waitress was trying to be as attentive as she could.
