Papa John’s Pizza

It’s a national pizza chain. Don’t expect anything above ho-​hum. Pepperoni on «Works» pie sliced so thin you can actually see through it. Mostly tasteless sauce. Crust pretty good. Service is decent. You could do worse, but you could do MUCH better too.

Atrocious delivery schedule. On multiple occasions over several months, we have ordered pizza online to be delivered at a set, specific time. Only once has the order been delivered within a reasonable time (I.e., within an hour of the promised time).
Why guarantee a delivery time for online orders if you can’t uphold it? While the pizza has been generally good quality, this is extraordinarily poor service. I am now going to their competitors and will likely not order from this particular place again in the future.
FYI, these orders were placed hours in advance on their website. Plenty of time and opportunity to execute quality customer service.

Why have the order ahead feature when the pizza isn’t delivered at the pre-​scheduled time? It has happened to us twice now. I order a pizza to be here at a certain time so we can eat before leaving home for sports practice.
I think we’re breaking up with you Papa John’s for more reliable delivery.

Love this place! Stopped ordering for a while because I had a few bad experiences, but the last couple of orders have been much better. Must be under new management. The pretty girl who works the register is super friendly too.

Papa John’s Pizza is one of my favorites (if Grimaldi’s isn’t available ;P)!
It was my first time ordering online, but I am so glad I did! It’s so convenient and there’s no fuss! I ordered what I wanted — exactly how I wanted it! Now, keep on mind, I usually order from this Papa John’s location via phone with NO PROBLEMS, but this online thang is AWESOME! I used the online ordering for carry out and paid online as well, so when I picked up the pizza it was HOT-​AND-​READY (sorry lil caesars ;P)! I just picked up the pizza and went on with my life! Haha! I will definitely order from this location again and BY THE WAY, I’m always greeted whenever I walk into this location which is always nice :) I hope people will cut this place some slack; it seems there are more Pizza Huts than Papa Johns in East Chula Vista!

Think I need to find another pizza place. Toppings are very scarce. Even with deals it’s not worth the money. For the record, they used to make a great pizza.

I had earned a free pizza through Papa Johns online point program. Today, I placed my order online at 11:04 am. I checked my email at 11:20 am to make sure I had a confirmation email for my order (I have had problems with online orders before). There was a confirmation email then a few minutes later that order was cancelled. I immediately called the store and was told that I called and cancelled the order. I told her, «No, I DID NOT cancel my order. she said, «yes, you spoke to the driver.» again I told her, «No, I did not call and cancel my order. My phone was sitting next to me the entire time and I am the only one here so it is impossible that anyone called and cancelled my order.» I asked to please have another pizza sent to me. When the driver arrived he told me I had to pay $ 19.69 (the original total was only $ 11.74). So why does it make sense that I have to pay more for a pizza when it took almost an hour to get to me after I placed the original order, and be treated on the phone like I was lying about not cancelling my order. To top it off I just checked my account and I was charged the original $ 11.74 and $ 19.69. A total of $ 31.43 FOR ONE PIZZA AND A SODA. I was treated like a liar and I feel like I was ripped off. I have never left a bad review for a business but THIS IS BY FAR THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED ANYWHERE!

Had a bad delivery experience, about 4 weeks ago. Delivery took over 2 hours and was cold when finally delivered. After posting a complaint on the Papa John’s corporate website, I was contacted by someone from this location, promising a coupon for two free pizzas. Coupons never arrived. Assume management and ownership of this franchised location just don’t care about customer service!

The management contacted me and offered me free pizza. They didn’t apologize for the employee’s actions and seemed to be rationalizing his behavior. I do think I am going to eat the free pizza.

I’ve only ordered from here twice and both times Ive had awful experiences. The first time my pizza was an hour late and I ordered a supreme pizza and they delivered me a pineapple pizza. The 2^nd time, I ordered two days ago and I call for a delivery. I call and the girl tells me it will be ready in 30 min. An hour later pops by I call again and another worker answers telling me my pizzas barely out the oven. Wtf. I ask why it’s taking so long and the guy gets rude with me and I decided to cancel my order and the guy still gives me attitude. Not paying 25 for a hour late pizza. Screw that.

Customer service wasn’t great, smiling can’t hurt anyone. Pizza was good though but the prize could be better.

I love papa johns pizza had yrs without coming here and I had completely forgot how good this pizza is !! There bread isn’t so greasy and thick and with that garlic sauce it’s jut perfect !! I like our pizza with pepperoni mushrooms and spicy Italian sausage !!! There cheese sticks were good I got them for $ 6 with a coupon online and a large 3 toppings pizza for 10.99 !!! I only waited 10 min for my order not bad for a pizza and the girl taking my order was really nice !! I will continue coming here !

Called in an order and its ready when I get here. Their pizza is very good especially their garlic sauce. The costumer service us good, very polite and professional.

They delivered my pizza after an hour and it tasted like it had been cooked earlier and reheated in the oven, the dough was all chewy just like it was reheated. Tasted really bad and my wife and I felt sick after eating it. Stay away from this business. Next time I’ll try Dominoes.

Horrible customer service!!! i asked a simple question and i got a rude annoyed answer back about something so stupid about a sign in front of the cash register i was just wondering i dont know who i talked to but when i came back after the 2^nd 15 minute BS she didnt even bother to show her face and apologize, i shouldve been much ruder to her but i am better than that!!! Never going to eat your overpriced barely any topping pizzas! You have lost all of my future business, forget this stupid rewards program!

I still cannot understand people’s fascination with Papa John’s Pizza? Is it the ridiculous dipping butter, which isn’t anything special? Could it be the crust that tastes like overcooked Subways dough? Oh wait, it must be the overpriced food unless you’ve got a coupon handy?
Bland pizza. Corporate special blend of apathy and cheap ingredients. That sums up what they sling at Papa John’s. I’d rather get a real pizza from one of the local mom and pops.

The WORST Papa John’s in the World. Avoid at all cost! Very rude workers. They talk to you with an attitude. I’m patronizing this business, I’m not asking for free pizza. Why do I have to put up with attitude?
I told him that I was going to Costco for a few minutes. He told me «yeah, a lot of people say that, but they never come back». I was shocked! I asked him how long would the pizza take to cook, he said 20 min. I told him that I would be back in 20 min. I came back 25 min later and the pizza wasn’t ready, I had to wait 15 more minutes; so why the big deal with going to Costco while I wait for my pizza.
Lastly, I asked for a vegetarian pizza but to add beef to it. This pizza is for my Muslim friend (how obviously doesn’t eat pork). He made a big deal about putting beef in a vegetarian pizza. I told him that I would pay for the extra topping. But he continues to make a big deal.
Again, the WOST Papa John’s I have ever been to.

What ever you do do not give them your Credit card or else they’d will tip them self! My order is only $ 24.00 and my card was charge $ 33.00 + I give the driver $ 2.00 in tip never again that I’ll return to this place.
