Eastlake Tavern+Bowl

One time was enough for me. Drinks were ok, although I did return our 2 drinks due to fruit flies from the lime juice so we had floaters. They did get us new drinks. It is loud in there as the ceilings are high and not much to catch the noise.
Maybe I ould try again with a group of friends and make a night out of it besides Happy Hour.
Husband did rave on the wings.

I don’t know what happened but right away I knew there was a huge difference from the last time we went there. First of all out of socks, then the tables were dirty, they wiped them down and said it had to air dry because they were out of Napkins. We wanted to order drinks but were told that they were out of most of the ingredients. Finally when we went to order desserts believe it or not they also ran out of what we wanted.
I found out they were under new management. Aaahhhh it all makes sense now.
Waste of money and definitely a waste of time.

Service sucked took 30 minutes to get service and another 30 minutes to get are drinks. Haha and another hour to get are food they served to dinners at a time and didn’t put two of are dinners in as a ticket and women’s Restrooms no toilet paper and the waitress tried to charge me for beers I didn’t have to top off the night .my wife got food poisoning had to take her to the emergency room

Let me just start off by saying you’re better off going to In-​N-​Out. I came here last night with about 14 other people, we didn’t go bowling though because we were starving and were too damn busy waiting for our food. It took an hour for half the people’s order on the table to come, and two hours for the other half. Please tell me why they think it is logical to not bring everyone’s food at the same time. Also, I ordered the grilled pesto chicken sandwhich on sourdough bread and that bread was so hard, almost like it was stale. Their jalepeños were terrible as well, didn’t even look like them. Their 1 star is for their fries. not bad, but not worth it. Do not come here, it is poorly managed and service is terrible.

This place sucks, it’s extremely understaffed, bathrooms are disgusting and the drink prices make you feel like you’re in Vegas. 10 $ for a Jameson on ice GTFO

Out of all the times I’ve been to this place, I went last night just to eat… not to bowl. My date and I sat at the bar when we walked in and didn’t get served for 15 minutes. Not even a hello, no acknowledgment, no cleaning up someone else’s glasses and cups left behind, nothing. As if we were not sitting there. We then moved to a different section of the bar and the same thing happened, except this time BOTH the bartenders were conversing with the drunk people next to me, and we still didn’t get acknowledged. We were so close to leaving but were hungry and decided to move to a table and give them 5 minutes to serve us.
We didn’t get served, I walked up to someone who worked there and complained and asked them to get someone or else we would leave due to what was happening. They came and took our order and everything after that was fine.
The food was good, the drinks were not, and the service sucked. The wings that we ordered were cold, but everything else tasted great and was hot and cooked perfectly. The rib meat came right off the bone! The setting is cool and its a spacious place, the only thing that was a negative about the place was that the music was so loud I could barely hear my own conversation.
Honestly, if I was just treated with better service at the bar, I would give this place a 4 star rating. Service is HUGE when I make my reviews, and the service here sucked. I can understand if they were busy, but they weren’t. It gets 3 stars due to the quality of the food, which me and my date both enjoyed.

Place is great for late night happy hour, Thursday nights there’s a DJ whose actually pretty decent. Great place to unwind after a long work week.

Service is awful. You rent a lane, maybe you get to order, good luck getting the server to come back and expect in the end to beg for your check. They were not even crowded.
If it was an isolated incident that would be one thing but every time we come here it is the same.
Sorry but this is the last time we bowl here. Not to mention they allow people to smoke just outside the doors which just blows inside.

God help you if Juliana is your server. I don’t understand the people in this place not taking care of the lane tables… Thankfully the food runner brought us all the shit our server forgot. Maybe write things down when people order so you don’t forget and they have to wait fifteen minutes for the other part of their order. Or maybe check back with them. Or apologize for your mistake. Or not make them have to go to the bar well to pick up their beer that has been sitting there getting warm for ten minutes and have to reorder their additional beers from the bartender themselves because you can’t bother to freaking come back to the table!!! You literally took our order and dropped off the check! You probably would have gotten a tip had you done something remotely resembling waiting on your customers… Food was good as usual but we have come here multiple times and gotten terrible lane service! They need specific servers for the lane and for the dining room! One person can’t do both… Or maybe the manager should stop messing around on his computer and stuffing his face and help when you see people get busy… Just saying. But she wasn’t busy when we were there… Just lazy… Also had I screwed up that bad (witnessing my customer go to the bar to get their OWN DRINKS 3 times) I would have apologized and admited my mistake to a manger to get the bill adjusted! No effort was made to even attempt to make up for the shit service we received today!

Do not waste your time dropping in for the late night happy hour. With one of the few places opened until midnight in Chula Vista, on a long weekend, you’d think they would be staffed appropriately. We waited 20 minutes for the waitress to just get to us because there were only 2 waitresses on duty. I ordered the deep fried pickles which were too salty (and I love salty food). Luckily I was drinking a happy hour margarita, that tasted more like sour mix, so the salty pickles kinda balanced it out.
Skip this place, just head down the street to Vons and buy your own liquor, so you can actually enjoy your drink in a timely fashion.

Bad service in the restaurant
Next I reserved a lane and my first time here and first they could not find my reservation and next they mid quoted me the amount, i didn’t have time to argue with them. In the restaurant, when we ate and had some drinks, the waitress didn’t bring one of our items, and then said it was not included and wanted to know if we wanted to order they extra item, we did t as we thought it came with our food. Anyways, if I was at another restaurant, the waitress would of just told a supervisor what happened and bought it over, but I guess not at this place. Anyways, not planning on going back.

Cool spot to hang out and listen to music but the service is horrible. They don’t acknowledge you or check to see if your ok. Lost my friends credit card and charged another friends card for someone else’s tab.

This place ended up being a really great sports bar. My favorite beer (Guinness) was on tap so it left no room to complain. Lots of screens to watch games and bartenders were really friendly. Late at night, the crowd gathers, music gets pumped and it turns into a lounge with people dancing and having a good time. We ended up bowling for the rest of the night. Good times…
Why 3 stars? a fight broke out and place was closed down early. I am assuming at this part of town, there aren’t many fights that break out which explains why the security there was unable to handle the situation and were able to break up the fight. Instead the numerous hoodlums were pushed outside, where the fun… i mean fight, continued.
I’ll probably make my way there again and can only assume this type of thing doesn’t happen here often. In which case, I’ll be glad to update my review at a later time.

I love this bowling alley! It is not only a place to bowl, but also a place to grab bite to eat or even have a drink at the huge bar! This is definitely one of the nicest bowling alleys I’ve been to in SD. For sure recommend coming here!

My bacon wrapped meatloaf deserved no stars. Burgers and fries my dad and bad got deserve at least a couple stars. So I’m giving two stars for the other food I tried. My dissatisfaction came from the kitchen, because their burgers took a half hour and what my «meatloaf» took 45 minutes. I could get over this if it was really busy, but there were maybe a dozen people seated total and you can see for yourself what I was served. The only way my onion rings qualify as beer-​battered was if they actually battered the breading off the onion with a bottle of beer.

Waited for a hamburger for over an hour. The first bartender forgot to even put it in the computer. They need more people working.

The Wait for a bowling alley on a Friday night was two –three hours!!! We didn’t know we would have to reserve a lane in advance. We went to meet family for a fun Friday evening, driving all the way from North County SD to Chula, and ended up scrapping the whole idea. Be warned, make a reservation.
Will review again once we are able to actually try this place out-​so it’s three stars for a drive for nothing.

Not a huge fan of tavern + bowl. Past few times I’ve been there am I ever greeted when walking in or at my table. This past visit me and three others had to go to the bar to get our drinks after sitting at a booth for over 15 minutes while our friends had already got there drinks. The lady bartender on Monday night was the only great service i had an interaction with. Filled me in on the happy hour pitchers. Really bummed we were too late to bowl. I’ll update my review once I eat and/​or bowl at tavern + bowl.

This place has finally finally hit bottom. Rumor is they haven’t paid rent in months, and the service level shows it. What used to be a cool neighborhood place to watch football, bring kids for decent food, and just have a place to hang out at bar has turned into a completely frustrating experience. Hopefully a new concept will take over this space and serve the neighborhood in a much better way.

This is my second time here and I’m disappointed in the service we received. My review is based in the service. We arrived around 4:45 and the place was not busy. Our waitress Marcia did not even come over to introduce herself. When she did come over we were very rushed and she seemed to be too busy to deal with us. Long story short our food took forever to arrive and the waitress went MIA. By far the worst service I’ve had in a while. The food was good but since the service was so crappy they get 1 star.

I’m highly disappointed in my trip here. When I walked in the fore I thought the place was very nice and the idea of a bowling alley in a restaurant was cool. However the waitress was horrible, she asked us for our drink order and we gave it. We didn’t see her again for 20 minutes when she returned my wife asked for a lemon to add to her water she said ok and didn’t come back for another 15 minutes or so. My wife went to the bar and got a lemon her self. After being here almost 45 minutes we were able to put in an order. The pretzel bread was more like bread then anything and the cheese sauce was not good at all. The next time I saw the waitress (which was rare) I asked her to take it away. Not once at this point did she check on us or do anything that a waitress is supposed to do. I wish she was wearing a name tag so that management could know who I was talking about. This is the last time I drive from east county to this place.

The major reason why I dropped 2 stars is because the advertised hours are not accurate. When a place says open until midnight I expect them to take last seats at midnight and not stop at 11 pm.
This is what happened. We walked in around 10.45 pm. The last round of bowling was sold at 10.45 and though there were just the two of us, they could not accommodate us though the lanes were empty. They don’t advertise this anywhere so lack of information is certainly not good.
On top of that, they only serve drinks until 12. They stop taking food orders… even things like fries and stuff well before 12 am. At 10.45 they told us that the kitchen was already closed.
However we did enjoy the music and the bowling lanes looked really good. The décor was nice too. They had weekday specials at $ 2 per game of bowling until 4 pm. That sounded like a good deal.

Eastlake Tavern and Bowl is huge. The sheer size of this facility is impressive. At least 10 bowling lanes, sky high ceilings, a massive bar, and equally gargantuan seating area. This is a place to watch a game with a large group of friends. If you’re looking for a quiet dive bar where you can quietly listen to jazz and sip whiskey whilst waxing your mustache, this ain’t it.
In the food and drink department; they have a decent selection of beers on tap and in the bottle, as well as a vast array of mixed drinks. Surprisingly, the tacos they make on taco Tuesday are really good.

When ever I house sit for my friend in chula Vista tavern & bowl is my spot to go because the srvice and food are always good. Until now…
Well I hate to say it I’ve been here 2 nights in a row and the service sucked. The people where nice enough but the over all service sucked. It took forever to place my drink and food order then I ask for my check and the bartender starts putting drink glasses away.
Looks like I have to find a new spot for when I stay in chula vista. Yup still sitting here waiting for my check.

Poorly managed business. I’ve waited to write this review because I wanted to sample a few different occasions. In summary, the place is understaffed, restrooms are in poor condition, and most of all, the bowling equipment is in poor condition (sticky shoes, dry lanes, having to reset the lane numerous times during the game). It’s disappointing because this place could really be an awesome hangout!
Eastlake Tavern & Bowl is like nice teeth that don’t get brushed much. If you just want a drink and don’t mind waiting forever, this is your place. If you want to bowl, go to a real bowling alley.

F’N BS!!! UFC 193, success! I brought my kids because they’re into fighting as much as I am. However, UFC 194, I called the Friday before the match and asked if kids were allowed, and I got the OK! I arrive Saturday night before the prelims and all of a sudden they’re under «New Management» and it’s 21 and up. THANKS TAVERN MANAGEMENT, I,

The wings were crispy, the Coke is so fresh and the floors are extremely clean. The décor is bright and the staff is awesome. Parking is ample and the outdoor patio is nicely heated. Great spot!

The bar area is nice enough. Or I should say they have NFL Sunday ticket so you can catch any game. The menu is ok, they have what you would expect from a sports bar. The service is usually pretty good.
My main bitch is with the restrooms. They are in deplorable condition. Filthy broken restrooms equates to a poorly trained staff and a poorly managed business. Empty beer classes on the shelf over the urinals, the toilets full of waste, 1 sink faucet broken, 1 hand dryer broken, toilet paper all over the floor, the floor covered in piss. This is a great spot where you can hangout with your whole family! The food is great and they have 2 big bars. I was there for a 17 year old boys birthday. We had spinach artichoke dip, fried pickles, wings, pizza, nachos, beer… They had good music playing and we even got a chance to dance a little. We will definitely be going back!

This is a fun place to get brews and bowl. Their fried pickle chips are a dangerously addictive item.
The bar is very spacious and the bartenders are very friendly. It’s definitely not a dive bar — this is a trendy place.

Very underwhelming.
Having been to the north county and downtown tavern+bowl locations, I thought this would be a good place for guys night out (happens only every few months). The beer was good and that’s what saved 2 stars. The food ranged from good to disgusting.
The nachos description sounded like the tavern nachos you’d expect: jalapeño cheese, beans, guacamole, sour cream & tomatoes. It ended up being mostly velveta cheese that tastes nothing like jalapeño and had a gross, unexpected smokey flavor. The beans were almost non existent. We ended up just eating the guac off the top and leaving the rest.
The bread twists with cheese also sounded good so we got them for the table. It was the same exact cheese from the nachos, the bread was dry and flavorless.
I got a goat cheese salad as my entrée. It was pretty good. It had oranges, beets, goat cheese and mixed greens. The citrus was spot on. I could have used a little more dressing but I prefer less than more so all good.
The worst part of all this was service. The server was nice but apps and entrees all came at once. When the manager came by we had tried the nachos and bread and we were honest with him. I would expect him to offer to take it back or replace it. No such offer. We’re not the type to push it so we paid for a pile of crap we didn’t eat. Later, the server admitted how disgusting our choices were and she should have steered us away. We asked for fries and tots with a variety of sauces so we don’t have to leave hungry (we still paid for it).
Ultimately the food was disappointing but you’d just expect someone to offer to make it up somehow.

I do not know why I never learn my lesson. I think it’s because I live so close to Tavern. But anyways this place is TERRIBLE! not only for its subpar food but for its shitty service. Tonight was the last straw I had to Unilocal it.
So I invited my boyfriend and his father and excitedly advised them that Tavern down the street had .50 wings tonight. We were all stoked and ready to eat. Since we all had just gotten off of work.
It was open seating we sit we order. We ordered the standard bar food, wings and beer. The wigs took 45 mins and they were incorrect and also all on one plate. The heck we all ordered something different and are 3 individuals, strange. We also ordered fries and tater tots also on one plate and took 50 mins LONGER THAN THE FRIES!!! I had ordered blue cheese potato salad, that was taking awhile to get, 45 mins after ordering the waitress let us know they were all out of it. Super annoying.
Long story cut shorter we cancelled the other wing order that was never delivered and the beer that was also never delivered and the waitress was like WHAT YOU never got them? Um no we told you that. Anyways we left to Buffalo Wild Wings to finish our dinner. Haha.
Just don’t if you’re thinking of it.

THE AMBIANCE:
Want to go to a bar where you can drink, watch sports, and bowl drunk? Hello. Eastlake Tavern is both rowdy and family friendly. The setup is nice and the amount of televisions is appropriate. I wish they would have larger televisions, though. There is both booth and table seating apart from sitting at the bar (my fave). The bartenders stay the same. I don’t know if this is good or bad.
THE FOOD:
I tried their wedge salad. I would suggest getting the blue cheese dressing on the side because it’s dunked in it. Don’t get me wrong — it’s good — but it turns out to be too much. Also, expect a sweetness to the wedge. I asked the bartender what was making it sweet and she said it was the balsamic vinaigrette they drizzle on it; it has honey in it. It wasn’t really my thing but the wedge was still good overall.
THE DRINKS:
Go for the $ 15 champagne in a bucket and carafe of OJ. Mimosa Sunday!
THE TIPS:
Go Chargers. BOLT UP!!!
