Big 7 Motel

We were allowed to pay for the week and then kicked out for being «too dirty» for housekeeping. Just my husband and I and our two small boys, there were some crumbs on the floor and that was about all. We pre-​cleaned for them because they only cleaned our room twice a week max and when they did they hardly cleaned anything. When I asked what specifically we did that was just so bad, I was yelled at and berated by their Manager Rosa and told she was «not going to explain what dirty means!» Also that our bathtub was always «black…» I informed her that was because the carpet in the room she gave us was (again two small boys just crawling and playing) and she did not care. She gave me until two days from then to leave if I wanted to suddenly be charged their daily rate and less than 24 hours to make plans and leave if I wanted a full refund for the week (we paid days in advance for the week we were going to continue to stay.) And when I was not out by the time she said I had to be in order to get a full refund, she sent her «enforcer» to the door of our room to bring me to the office (I am a 32 year old mother of three,) he pounded on the door, brought me to the office by walking behind me and then she hid in her office while asking him to ask me questions about when we would be out. We made arrangements to leave as soon as we could and when I went to the office the next day to check out I was told by the Assistant there (Martin) that I would have to come back later for a refund (he swore he had no money and had to reach the manager or he could not help us) and he would not give me any proof of us checking out (he swore I would be just fine and to just leave now and come back later.) I actually had to call police in an attempt to just have it documented that we were leaving, and then suddenly (within 2 minutes) my refund appeared (of $ 240, since she charged the daily rate, in a bait and switch type scheme) along with proof of check out. I think this was a scam they pull on people they dont like that try to stay longer, or whenever they «accidently» book too many weekly rates… I would watch out for this place! Stay ANYWHERE else possible!!!

If you love your life and your family’s life don’t stay here. It’s too dangerous to risk. Didn’t sleep AT ALLL with the all the nose the drug dealers had going on the entire night in front of our room. We were scheduled to stay 2 nights but we’re to afraid to even step out so we are going somewhere else after just one night. One night was enough for us. DONT COME HERE! ITS THAT BAD

The staff was nice to me when I checked in but this was about the only good thing about this place. I usually check Unilocal before booking but I paid for not doing my research this time. I don’t think I would stay here again for even $ 30 a night, I paid about $ 70 a night, which is ridiculous considering the condition of the place and lack of any real amenities, comfort, or privacy.
The bed was hard, small, and uncomfortable. The sheets and blankets were coarse. The t.v. was on the right side of the bed rather than across from it for some reason, and only had 2 channels. Both channels were in spanish not even anything in english. The wifi did not work AT ALL even though I was right by the office and it was advertised that they have free wifi. I really did need wifi for some business stuff and they should not say they have it if you can’t even get a web page to load with it.
The sad excuse for bath towels in the bathroom are way better suited to be rags for washing a car. They felt like sandpaper and barely covered any of me, even though I’m a petite lady.
There is not a «do not disturb» sign. This would have been so so useful to have. They came knocking on my door each morning, the first morning I didn’t want service and was trying to say «no thank you» but the lady kept knocking so I finally had to get dressed and go to the door to open it and tell her that I didn’t need anything. The walls were thin and it felt very the opposite of private, you can hear everything around there and I’m sure they can hear you too.
There is an a/​c unit and it did work, so that was cool, but yeah no microwave or fridge or t.v. channels or any of that cool stuff you would hope would be in a motel. I definitely would go anywhere but here next time.

Rip offs. We checked in 3 days ago and I had asked if we could rent for entire week. They said no only for 3 days. So I took the so called manager special. Today I find out it’s more expensive to say 3 more days and clerk says it would have been cheaper had I paid the whole week. I say I tried to get room whole week but they said no. She changes her story and says it’s because they already had rooms reserved. That’s bs. She is trying to price gouge so far all I have seen are prostitutes walking in or around these rooms. Only stayed here for convenience because it was close to where we wanted to be but never again

Stayed here once on a trip to old town and regret it ever since
When I got home I found bed bugs EVERYWHERE, in the room I found a roach in the sheets, I wouldn’t doubt that it’s from here NVR staying here again! BEWARE!!!

its cheap and theres a reason why. the guy at the counter was nice, but im not too happy about how they have nothing in the room. not even a hairdryer. they only provide towels and cups for water. the bed was really small as well… would not go back unfortunately.

This place sucks!
Beds weren’t made right, it was full of crums, hair, dead bugs and some spiders!
If your desperate for a place to stay its Big 7 motel! They’ll be happy to take 100 bucks from you to stay for one night. I think I might wake up sick tomorrow because of how dirty it is here

awful place security harrases you bangs on your door thretens you. hotel staff barges in room during intimate time with spouse saying they wanna search for non existent pets. worst hotel experience ever. surrounded by a ghetto alley of thugs druggies and sirens every 5min. Youve been warned!!! They dont let you have any visitors so if you want a friend or lover over security will bang at your door. front desk is mean. Their soda machines jack your money and cops drive through constantly. avoid avoid like the plague. I use to live in chula so am aware of the shady hotel this is. who wants to be freakin harrased? especially after paying your hard earned money.

****hole. Stay away. I’ve been in a lot of fleabags in my time, and this one takes the cake. Worst. Motel. Ever.
