I’m only commenting on my initial experience. I purchased a Groupon for 5 classes awhile back and hadn’t followed up. When I went online they didn’t have a schedule so I signed up for the «free trial» they advertise (double bang for my buck I guess) to hopefully get the ball rolling. Once I signed up for the email I got about 4 emails within a day promoting their fighters and one was a grocery list which I thought was a nice touch.
The emails kept asking if someone had contacted me and if not to contact them immediately. The emails are from the general manager but the number she puts is the gym’s line, not that it matters who I talk to, but I think it’d keep her employees in line if the calls went to her direct line.
I hadn’t been contacted and I called to set up an appointment for a tour at 3:15. I got there at 3 and it seemed pretty dead with the exception of some sort of team that was training so they helped me out right away. George is the one who helped me, it wasn’t really a tour he just took me to his office asked what I was looking for and I said I liked the BABE classes they advertised. He then gave me a schedule and his business card. I work at Chula Vista High School which is down the street, and I guess they use the track there for some things so it was a nice side conversation.
Once I told him I had a groupon he took me to the front desk and the young woman set me up with the program. She wasn’t the friendliest, but it was nothing to take personal she was helpful and took care of everything.
Oh and yes, the smell, it’s not the most pleasant thing in the world but it’s an established where people sweat and are barefoot it’s not going to be roses.
I took away a star because the tour wasn’t what I was expecting. They offer so many programs I was hoping for a detailed tour not just «the classes are here wear workout clothes and bring a towel and a water bottle».

Jaime who helps run the place is crook. Their staff is a joke. You’ll be told one thing and then get billed completely different from what their staff told you. They will do what they can to the contract in their favor. Their coaches are decent but their incompetent staff and money hungry management ruins this place. Stay away…

Excellent gym with very qualified instructors. They offer a comprehensive training program with Muay Thai, boxing, wrestling, TRX, and much more. Most of the folks I met were very down to earth, even many of the UFC fighters. Shout out to Muay Thai coach Juan for his brutal but excellent classes. Brandon Vera is one the nicest people I’ve met in the MMA community!
The location is in Chula Vista, so commuting there may be a challenge for folks coming from north SD — traffic can be painful during rush hour. Also, some areas of the gym (like the ring) have an unpleasant odor due to the vast amounts sweat that is emitted daily. Overall, it’s my preferred So Cal gym and highly recommended!

This place obviously does not have proper admin personnel. I had cancelled my membership 2 months ago and they still charged me. I had to go through the whole process of cancellation again just so I can receive my money they took.
The gym is good and they have awesome classes but seriously paperwork should not be any issue when running a business.

Alliance is not like your standard boring gym with guys walking around like gorillas and girls chatting all done up. The people here are here to work out. Yes it’s bit pricier than your normal 24hr, LA Fit, etc. At Alliance you get trained by world known trainers and fighters. Multiple classes and training opportunities. Everyday you will come across and pro fighter and or coaches. Classes as early as 6 am and as late as 730 pm during the week. Its suitable for those wanting to take workout and fitness goals to next level, those learning the basics, self defense, or those serious a fighting career. Coaches who get you results that I have experience and opportunity in Working with, JuanLuis, DaeDae, Adrian, George Castro, David.

I checked out this gym a while back. It’s a good gym for mma. I can’t remember the pricing, but there aren’t too many other mma gyms in the immediate area, so it’s a good option for people in the chula vista area.

ALLIANCE IS A SCAM. Do not fall into the scam of their membership responsibilities. They tell you one thing and then once you’re in, you’re stuck into high costs and tons of bullshit. When signing up they have you give them your credit card info to take out your payments but in my case, half way through my contract, Alliance stopped taking the money and never notified me, and when I went in to cancel my membership at the end of the 6 months, they said my payments weren’t received for three months and that I owed me the costs of the months plus the cost of three late fees which were $ 75.00 each! Worst business ever. Do not FALL into their scheme. In all, for the three months, that I supposedly ignored the payments, I am now being charged $ 516.00, CRAZY.

I have really come to respect Alliance. These guys are the real deal. The guys will make you work but trust me it pays off! They know what they are doing. Experts at training and motivating. In turn, you are comfortable putting in the work because you are in the hands of pros who will not lead you astray. It is most evident when you ask a question. The response is immediate and confident and shows a real depth of understanding. The environment is nice because everyone is serious and committed (staff and customers) and there is a real air of respect.

Top notch training! UFC, Bellator and Boxing pros in and about every single day. The staff is helpful and the gym is very welcoming. The training is hard but the people are nice!

Not worth the price and they have no regard for military! I was paying $ 119 for the babe boot camp class for a couple months when I could have done a boot camp class at Chuze fitness for $ 20 a month. I left for deployment and turned in my orders so they would stop billing me while I was over seas. They continued to bill me and it took me 4 months of calling them every time I hit a port for them to stop. The manager was very unprofessional, rude argued with me saying I never turned in any paper work.
When u turn in military orders for deployment it is a clause to break a contract with any company but the manager fought with me and wanted to charge me in order to break my contract regardless of my deployment or not. Bottom line I was so fed up with dealing with them that I just paid it so I wouldn’t have to speak to her again.

You are going to be hard pressed to find better talent in MMA world wide than here are Alliance Training Center. You have UFC stars, Phil Davis, Jeremy Stephens, Myles Jury, Chris Leben, UFC Champion Dominick Cruz, and should have been UFC Champion Alexander Gustaffson all training here.
The coaching here is excellent, and you can rest assured that you are being trained by people with REAL world experience when it comes to martial arts. They are also some of the nicest people I have met in the game, and when I visited I felt like I became part of the family.
The facility is big, with a full size cage, boxing ring, weight room, S&C room, large mat area, kickboxing area, and a warm up area. When you come here at peak hours, this place is packed to the gills with awesome people.

Great place and bigger than most training gyms in the area. As soon as I walk in they greet me with a smile. The instructor took his time to show me how to do the moves correctly which I never have received at any group class anywhere else. The boxing class itself is intense and awesome I am on my trial period and I’m really impressed. I look forward to reaching my goals and stay doing what I love again!

If I could give 2 and a ½ stars I would, but since I cant I’ll choose to do 2 since to be honest, it more bad than good. I trained here for a while and the truth is its not as great as people put it out to be. In my honest opinion the prices are high and they try to sucker you into paying more as it is. How so, well when I went in if I can remember correctly I was looking to get into strictly jiu jitsu nothing more, however the price for JIU JITSU ONLY, was around 130 a month on a 6 month contract. So they told be what is better is to «take advantage» –_​– of the 150 offer and be able to take everything. To sweeten the deal they offered me a shirt and gloves haha right… Anyway I was suckered in, for 6 months I did jiu jistu and some muay thai as well as boxing and wrestlingbut really did not learn much was it my fault? IDK maybe maybe not. It really felt though as if the instructors did not cater to everyones need they did’t seem to really help everyone out individually and sometimes mainly focused on the more seasoned people that were their. I do want to say with the exception of 1 instructor whom was awesome and helpful Wade taught me more, but its understandable when the other jiu jitsu coach Casey has a large class. Though a good instructor I cant say I learned much from him. As for DayDay he was good as well and strict so I guess I should say 2 coaches. In boxing and wrestling I felt like I was just getting beat up on and not learning anything at all. I did meet a few nice people that were helpful, but most just seemed to want to tap people out so it was hard to better my technique. As far as sanitation goes, yeah it smells like swass but its relatively clean so cmon ppl what do you expect quit your b*******. Classes get big sometimes which makes it harder cuz the mat spaces are small and sometimes I only got to spar like 2 times and against people who were just looking for taps then you’d get the guys in muay thai who were lazy or looking to chop you down like a tree c’mon its training not a fight. The weight are is pretty small but ok since not many people use it so I did like that. What pissed me off was that some people told me they were paying like 80 – 100 and one guy even said 60 not sure if he was lying or not but wtf why am I paying 150! Not that it matters but parking sucks too! In the end its just not as good as people say and was not worth the 150 contract. The instructors im sure are top notch, but need to help out everyone more not just their fav ppl or the team fighters and the people that are the favs or on the teams need to chill and help others not just look to use beginners as rag dolls and punching bags. Honestly there are better places were your not just paying more because of the name or because UFC fighters train their. I currently go to a new school and will not mention names since this is a honest review, but I like it better, everyones more helpful, easier to get along with and talk to, and not egotistic like some you might find at alliance, remember I said SOME and sorry, but its true.
oh I almost forgot the classes im talking about are supposed to be BEGINNER classes so I dont understand why they have the higher belts and more experienced people in their when they arent even helping and just using the whites for warm ups. So much for that. IDK to each their own I think this place just needs to fix a few things.

Compared to other gyms I’ve been too, the gym is kept clean. Trainers are knowledgable and helpful. This is an all around good training center for people of all levels and family friendly. Itai was very helpful with getting me started, super courteous and went above and beyond to make sure I felt comfortable. I was def pleased.

I remember when this place was being built. This spot has so many features it’s not even funny. From tested worthy equipment to world classes trainers and their techniques this place has it all. The cream of the crop comes through this location to train for upcoming events. It also host numerous champions and contenders. The few times I got to train at this location were awesome. Great people that really want to progress their game. I was happy to see a lot of family people too. If women out there want to be inspired to work out, come to Alliance. This gym really helps women take that leap into getting fit and defending themselves. I’ve always thought that aspect of the gym was truly wonderful.
I would recommend this gym to anyone who is serious about getting back into shape. You will be pushed, but they will do it with you. The trainers there will fully jump down military style and do push ups with you. That’s leadership right there. Mad props to Alliance, I will be renewing my membership when my financial status will allow to.

This place is awesome for any level of fighter or athlete. Coach Danny’s wrestling class is amazing. He will teach you a ton of practical knowlege of Jui Jitsu, striking and of course wrestling. He has over 20 professional fights so none of his lessons waste time or can’t be immediately applied in the cage. Juan is a great and patient Muay Thai instructor. Also no one is a jerk here or egotistical. I’ve checked almost every gym in San Diego. This place has the best MMA and fitness instruction in town. Im proud to call this my home gym. I’ve found more decorated Muay Thai and Jui Jitsu instructors elsewhere but for the overall MMA skillset go to Alliance. Theres a reason they have something like 9 UFC fighters here.
Also cool place if you just want to get in shape. The TRX and cardio classes are seriously intense and well taught.

My 17 year old Son went to Alliance to join. He signed a 6 month contract. He used his own money to pay for this. At the end of his six month he called to see what he needed to do to cancel and the female employee who answered the phone told him no problem it would automatically cancel. This was absolutely wrong. He finds out he is not canceled and goes in to cancel. They charged him again!!! They would not cancel unless he paid another month!!! I called to talk to the owner/​manager she would not budge. The female employees my look good but they seem to be uninformed and not so bright. When I called the girl answering the phone could not even figure out how to hang up the phone after the manager came on the line. The manager had to go to the desk and ask her to hang it up so we could hear each other.
Several kids from Bonita Vista High School told him not to go there that they have had bad experiences there. We should have listened. There are much better places to train. Don’t be fooled by the good reviews on Unilocal.I believe they are fixed because everyone I talk to has had a bad experience at Alliance.

Been coming here for 3 weeks and I can say I like it here. The trainers are good (I do the B.A.B.E class in the AM) both know what they are doing. I can see the difference in my arms and is only 3 weeks.
Pro: good parking in the AM, change of routines, and great atmosphere.
Cons: If one member in the class slows downs or slacks then the whole class suffers from it.
TIP: Bring you’re A-​Game!!!

I went here for several months and I have to say it was the best place I ever trained at. I’ve been to several schools throughout my life and this place stands out. Here is why:
PROS:
1) Everybody is friendly and everyone has character. Usually the cocky people are to themselves and quit right away.
2) They teach you form when they notice yours is wrong
3) They don’t force you to spar if you don’t like.
4) They have a great variety of classes. You don’t need to fight! They have classes based on strength and conditioning ONLY!
5) The bantamweight champion of the world trains here.
6) The trainers treat you with respect.

CONS:
1) Parking

Who likes to see guys roll around with each other until they are all hot and sweaty? NOT ME, but if you love MMA and grappling like myself then that’s what you will expect to see!
Growing up, my brother and I used to always wrestle and grapple with each other. We got a kick out of it. It was our way to show each other who the tougher guy was. My brother was always the tougher one out of us two. I mean come on, I’m a lover not fighter =p
He was always the bigger one out of us two and the one who always got into fights and always got in trouble. Did I mention he’s my younger brother?! You would think the older brother is the one who looks after the younger one and beats up anybody who messes with him right? Not in our case. My «lil big bro» would handle anyone who messed with me. He became my personal bodyguard. (not that I can’t handle myself, best recognize!)
We grew up watching UFC from the very beginning. We would rent the tapes from the video store and rush home to watch it. I would always hear him say, «let me try this move on you.» I would then become the victim stuck in some hold, «tapping out» like a lil biatch. I knew from there, my brother can be really good at this. I used to bring him to my friends house just so he can work on his boxing skills. Shout out to «pity pat» for volunteering his body as my brothers punching bag. My brother even tried to train in MMA back when he was a teenager at this little gym called the Bullpen ran by UFC vet Tony Galindo. He couldn’t afford the classes so he gave up on his dream of becoming a cage figher.
Fast foward to present day. My LBBB (lil big bro bodyguard) always got himself into trouble. From street fights to even jail time, he was going down the wrong road. I did not want that for him so I decided to sign him up at the Alliance Trainning Center. I wanted to give him back that dream he once had of getting into the cage and fighting. I mean, he always looked out for me so of course I want to look out for him. Family first.
We go in and sign papers. I get him a year membership for 89/​month that includes all sorts of classes. From Muay Thai, boxing, Jiu Jitsu to wrestling. MMA at its finest. The staff are very friendly. Brandon Vera himself is a really cool, down to Eartth guy. Michelle Vera is a fighter too. Really cool woman. My brother actually admit, he is literally scared of Michelle Vera! (she can really whoop some ass)
People come to this gym for many reasons. To get into shape. To train to become a fighter. I came to this gym to help change my brother’s life. Years from now if he becomes a pro fighter, I can be proud to say I helped him get there. If he doesn’t make it to the pros, who cares. Just seeing how happy he is and to see him push himself is enough for me.
If I only had time, I would be in there trainning along with him.

Oh yea, thanks for teaching him new moves. It brings back memories hearing him say, «let me try this move on you» again.
