S & C Movers

I called Steve to help with a short local move because S&C’s hours start at 6 am, and that’s a convenient time for me to make arrangements. I was delighted by the service they gave for those few hours (which included rearranging some of my furniture), so I called them again for a much more complicated move that involved transporting potted plants and other garden items from my mother’s house in Palo Alto to Chico and to my brother’s in Oregon. It was a learning experience all around — they’d never moved plants before (nor had I), and there were over 200 potted plants of various shapes and sizes. The end result, however, was fabulous: I think one or two geraniums lost a stem, but otherwise there was no breakage, and the cost was quite reasonable. Further, Christie remembered which plants went to Chico (my yard) and which to my brother’s, so the unloading process was much easier than I had anticipated. Besides their excellent packing/​unpacking, they are very warm and considerate. I wouldn’t use anyone else and recommend them to all my friends who need the services they offer.

These guys are the best! We had to move my elderly aunt from Chico to Upland ASAP! They showed up on time and so ready to work! They got everything packed into boxes and into the truck in under 5 hours! In Upland they got straight to work and stuffed our 10×10 storage space in under 1.5 hours! Steven and Christy are the best!

This moving company seemed great at first, offering a pretty good price as well. Unfortunately, they never showed up to move any of my stuff the day they were supposed to move me! I called the guy who gave me a quote, Steve, multiple times and left messages, but he never picked up and never called me back. DO NOT RELY ON THIS MOVING COMPANY!!! When they never showed up, I called Liberty moving and they were very helpful and have even better prices.

Its a long time ago when I met Christi and Steve for a storage and hauling job.
Every time I call them over the years I don’t know what I’d do without em.
They have great helpers and are like moving healers. They do EVERYTHING !!!

Nightmare, you’d better of renting a U-​Haul and moving YOURSELF than these guys! They over promised and under delivered! They quoted me a price of 1100 to move from Chico to Napa, the price was to include packing and Unpacking of my things! There were supposed to show up at 9asm with a crew to knock out the packing the night before, THEY ACTUALLY SHOWED UP AT 6pm, without Boxes, or BOX TAPE or Bubble wrap or anything, and no crew just two of them, Luckily I figured out I was in for a screwing days before when they wouldn’t return my calls for days on end. Since I couldn’t contact them, I pretty much moved my high value and important the previous couple of days with my Dad and a Pickup truck. THANK GOD I DID! Since I could contact them, and they wouldn’t return calls left for them the week prior ti the move, I wasn’t counting on them at all.
Imaging my surprise when they finally called me at 1030pm the night before they are supposed come over and pack me up. During that conversation I learned that they wouldn’t be able to pack till after 4pm the next day. Which would mean we would be at it till the wee hours of the morning, as I had to go from Napa to Salinas thursday after the move I needed to be in bed around 9, so I decided to stay up late and pack my stuff MYSELF! LUCKY I DID SINCE WHEN THEY ARRIVED THEY WERE NOT PREPARED TO PACK ME AT ALL!
THE NEXT DAY, WEDNESDAY 4pm came and went without movers, so did 5pm, and finally at 5 – 30 I called to see what was up, (Still enough time to call a replacement company!)they said they were on the way over and would be there shortly, … I waited!
By the time they arrived I had everything packed EXCEPT the dishes in the Kitchen. So I asked if they had any buble wrap, nope of course not, WHGAT WAS I THINKING! n I used towels and shirts and stuff to pack my breakables while they loaded the packed boxes into the truck. We argreed thatthey woyld be over the next morning at 8am to move to Napa.
8 came and went, 9 came and went, 10 came and went 11 came and went, NO CALL, even looked for smoke signal, the sky was blue. My friends had started a pool to bet on If they would call, and when. Finally at 12 – 30 hey called and were on the way over, RIGHT, we did this one before! I called my Mom and asked for a HUGE favor to have her drive down to Salinas to pick up my Dog, Charlie, from the pet hospital where he was recovering from his emergency surgery. Luckily she could and would, but I would owe her!
When they finally arrived they were able to load up my things fairly quickly, they packed NOTHING, and they insisted that would dismantle my Ikea Queen size bed, WHICH THEY WERE UNABLE TO. I AM DISABLED and have lost most of the use of my hands so basically I had to leave my bed, as I can’t dismate it, AND will now have to buy a new one,
When they quoted me a price we said agreed to $ 1100 to PACK AND MOIVE, THEY DIDN’T PACK A DARN THING, AND SINCE THEY SHOWED UP WITHOUT A SINGLE THIUNG TO DO Packing, it was plainly obvious, they NEVER intended to pack me, and I was in for a screwing the entire time. Once ALL MY THINGS were in the truck, they wanted to be paid. I told them I did not need them to haul away the stuff from the Garage, and we were just doing the move part of our agreement.
So I paid him the $ 1200 in cash, and he had the audacity to WHINE that they were expecting $ 1,500. Well I was-​expecting to be PACKED, I was expecting my bed to be dismantled and I was expecting them to arrive ON TIME ready to work. I single handily load more of the things than the two movers did!
When we got to Napa they basically just threw all the boxes into the living room and took off. Nothing was unpacked, matter of fact the boxes didn’t even make it into the rooms for which they were destined!
Moves are NEVER fun, and I chose these guys because even though theyr quote was HIGHER than 2 men with a Truck, it was SUPPOSED to be a hands off move, with them doing the work. Nothing could have been FURTHER from the truth!
ALL I CAN SAY IS, UNLESS YOU LIKE PAIN, and do’t respect yourself enough to hire quality mover, DO NOT USE THESE GUYS! I highly suggest looking into Two Men with a Truck, these guys are USELESS. When they didn’t call me back in over a week, I should have made arrangements with TWO EN AND A TRUCK, and got the move don e right!

After having had a horrible recent experience with Two Men & Truck of Chico in moving out of our previous house, I was determined to do most of the moving myself into our new home. But there were a few big things we needed to have moved. One was a huge desk that my wife uses in her business. On our original move, Two Men and a Truck had reassembled it improperly — to the point my wife thought (incorrectly) that it had been broken. S & C Movers moved it and put it back together properly. What a difference competence makes! They also moved a big chest of drawers down the stairs that Two Men made us sign a release to move upstairs?! S & C has restored my broken faith in movers. In fact, we used them again just today to put together several bookcases that were very difficult to assemble. Again, they did a great job at a reasonable price. They also seem quite nice and honest! Highly recommended!

WORTH EVERY PENNY!!! Long story short, they did more then we ever expected! We wanted a truck and some help with the big stuff but they took control and did EVERYTHING! Totally professional, organized, hard working and took the stress out or our move. Words can’t express how amazing this company is — highly recommended!!! TEN STARS, if I could.. !!!

If I could give a 6 star review I would. S & C Movers surpassed all my expectations. Professional, hard working, courteous, friendly. If you need help moving stop reading this and give them a call. I don’t often make reviews but I felt the need to give them a 5 star because they were just that good.

I called these guys last minute because i hurt myself from a prior accident and the injury came back.
First let me say thanks for such a stellar job!!! the owners (which is family owned) are young and full of energy, fast, efficient, and very professional. They told me what they rather wouldnt take because of how easily they break, informed me of everything i needed to do and were very prompt. Overall experience was just a super positive one. Thanks for taking me on such a short notice and when i move again you know ill be talking to you guys soon.

This is the BEST moving company I have ever used. The movers were on time, polite and took great care of my furniture and they had the lowest price (by far) of all of the moving companies I contacted in Chico. I highly recommend S&C movers!

I used S & C to move about 2 miles, they were awesome! They were fast and efficient. They broke down my bed and reassembled it for me in the new place. Put the furniture where I pointed.
I will be using them for their hauling services next and I know it will be perfect.

I actually used S&C about two months ago to move, so this review is a little delayed. They helped me move from Redding to Chico and did a great job. They were super friends, fast and efficient. They got the job done in a timely manner. I had never had movers prior to this experience, as I had always moved myself. It was so nice and way easier than doing it myself. I would highly recommend them and will for sure use them next time I move.

Professional. Honest. Neat/​Tidy. Fair. Efficient. Accessible. Fast. These are all words that could be used to describe this business and its workers. I had an exceptionally unusual moving situation, involving moving things to storage, moving other things from storage, moving actual storage units and organizing the contents in a safe and logical manner.
Knowing it was a big job, these guys came in with a good attitude, were fast, and neat (picking up after themselves, making sure not to track dirt and such into my home, etc.) This already big job turned into an even larger one when unforeseen circumstances complicated the situation. All the while, these guys rolled with the punches– they were adaptable and understanding!
I would recommend them to anyone!
