This is an acupuncture and Oriental medicine (AOM) clinic. AOM is a medical system that sees a wide range of medical issues, so I like to tell people, «anything you’d go to a doctor for» you can come here to have treated. The difference is I do not prescribe drugs or surgery. There are cases that I prefer go to others, such as Cancer treatments, infertility treatments, treatments for children under 12-​years in age, etc. This is because I know others in the field who handle these issues better than I do and in some cases the law requires such outsourcing. Also, for any emergency, 911 should be called and emergency medicine should precede a visit here.

Through AOM, the western medical diagnosis is not what we are treating, instead we are treating a pattern of imbalances that lead to the diagnosis. Because of that not everyone with the same «problem» gets the same «treatment». As an individual, your treatment is catered to your personal needs.

I have treated pain problems of many kinds, skin disorders, menstrual disorders, gastro-​intestinal issues, sleep problems, emotional imbalances, colds/​flu, post-​surgery recovery, post-​stroke recovery, migraines, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, blood pressure issues, and a wide range of other issues. History

Established in 1998.

Wright To The Point Acupuncture started in 1998 in Colorado. My initial training was in Colorado though I was born and raised in Illinois. In 2005 I went on to a higher educational degree and received my DAOM in 2007 from Oregon College of OM in Portland, but I was still practicing in Colorado.

Then I moved to Florida to work for a friend while I was also doing some training in Nanjing, China to complete my doctorate training. One year later, I moved back to my home state of Illinois.

I wanted to be sure my services were going where they were needed, so I worked in a variety of locations with other practitioners including UI Hospital in LaPorte, IN and some chiropractor clinics in Illinois and a Spa/​Massage clinic in Wisconsin. I also started teaching at Pacific College of OM in 2008.

After a few years of that I finally found my current location to use as a home base and I’ve been at this location since 2010. I still have my IN, CO, WI licenses as well as my Illinois L.Ac.

Dr. Phranque Wright DAOM, L.Ac. is the Acupuncturist on staff. He is a 1998 graduate of the Colorado School of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. He is NCCAOM Certified and Licensed in the State of Colorado, IIndiana, Wisconsin and Illinois. He served eight years as the Secretary for the Acupuncture Association of Colorado and three years on the board for the American Acupuncture Association for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. He is now a Lifetime Member of Colorado’s Association.

Dr. Wright has over 3,000 hours of postgraduate education; in late 2006 he finished a 5– Element certification course. In 2007 Phranque graduated from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine with his Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine degree. He is one of the first 23 DAOM’s who graduated from the First ACAOM Accredited program in the USA. In addition to acupuncture, Phranque also offers e-​stim, cupping (suction), guasha (scraping), Tuina (massage), Moxibustion (heat) and food therapy.

I was referred to Dr. Phranque by an excellent massage therapist, for continued therapy on my right shoulder. I had a partial shoulder replacement in May 2011 and, from time to time, suffer from nerve impingement. My review of Dr. Phranque will echo those of others here: He is extremely competent, thorough, results-​oriented, caring and professional. I have since referred my husband and several acquaintances to him and, to a person, they have all been pleased. Dr. Phranque is definitely the «point person» for excellent acupuncture treatment and Oriental Medicine.

I had been having issues related to chemotherapy. i had developed neuropathy in both of my feet.
When we had our consultation, Phranque, in my opinion, was more thorough in his questions to me than most of the doctor’s I have had. And in the forms he gave me to fill out, he actually looked at the answers! Very, very thorough.
After the first treatment I felt tremendous relief! Each visit I have with him just leaves me in such a good mood, and I am able to function normally.
I would highly recommend Phranque to anyone who is thinking about acupuncture. Do yourself a favor. He’s been practicing for over 15 years. He knows what he’s talking about and his «bedside manor» if you will is second to none.

Have been seeing Dr. Phranque for stress reduction for over a year and am thrilled by the results. Feel so much lighter and relaxed after acupuncture treatments. Notice huge changes after each treatment.
Dr. Phranque practices Five Element theory and he really knows his stuff after studying and practicing it for over 15 years. He works his magic with those needles and after each treatment, I feel more like myself again. Go see Dr. Phranque for yourself and experience the magic firsthand.

I have known Dr. Phranque Wright for most of my life, (before he was a doctor!) and yet, this is the first time that I have ever tried acupuncture. I trust him, admire him and learn from him constantly, but I am still pretty stubborn when it comes to my health and well-​being and that which I have been raised to believe is true when it comes to my healthcare.
I had suffered a sports-​related injury to my left shoulder and left calf recently that had left me couch-​bound for almost six weeks (once I realized that I needed to actually STOP exercising to allow my body to heal — I mentioned that I’m stubborn, right?) As soon as Phranque heard that I was injured he offered to help me with acupuncture — I politely declined and said that I would try «the old-​fashioned way» to heal. Little did I realize that his way is truly old-​fashioned by being centuries older than all of Western medicine!
My first experience was just this week. I went to the appointment skeptical and not really expecting too much. I was still in pain, not completely healed, crabby, depressed and fed up with my low energy level. I was at the end of my rope, so what could it hurt to let someone stick me with needles? I may be stubborn, but basically I am also open-​minded and ready to try new things — it just takes me awhile to come around.
The first half of our appointment was more like a psychological than a physical evaluation and he listened with patience and asked more questions. I joked that he probably knows more about me than my husband after this session! I felt comfortable and relaxed, far from rushed, and able to express myself. I was almost willing to skip the needles after this because I already felt as if a heavy weight had been lifted from my body! But the needles were necessary and such a relief in themselves.
Phranque addressed my stress, my pain, my loss of energy with points all over and not once did I feel uncomfortable. It was actually very interesting and enjoyable — a bit trippy, too! No wonder people do this!
Once he was finished and our appointment was ending I felt lighter, happier, calmer and more focused on what I needed to do to make myself happy. My voice was softer and I am sure that my posture was more relaxed. The pain was gone. My leg felt smaller, less swollen and pain-​free! My shoulder could move with full-​range without pain! My neck wasn’t tight anymore and I could turn my head freely. What an experience!
I am already planning my next appointment… or should I say «appointments»??

Dr. Phranque is my main squeeze!
I started seeing Dr. Phranque to help with some anxiety issues that caused many sleepless nights. I would get anxious about work, life, and the balance between the two.
After my first appointment with Dr. P, I immediately felt relief to many of the issues that I was experiencing. Not only was he sympathetic, but he was so great to speak with about these issues.
I would recommend Dr. Phranque to anyone. He is a good, calming, and understanding soul.

Phranque Wright is my go-​to health care professional. I started seeing him for depression three years ago, and he’s helped me with everything from the common cold to back pain to insomnia since then. I always leave his office feeling better than I did going in, and the last three years have seen my mood and general health improve dramatically. Dr. Phranque is the BEST! I cannot stress this enough. I saw him once a week. He is a great listener and knows just the treatment to help you with whatever you are looking for. I have had acupuncture elsewhere but the energy in his office is the best. Dr. Phranque has helped me through some very low times in my life as well as physical issues such as a sprained ankle and an injured knee. He helped keep me in tip top shape for sports and life combined! I highly recommend his services to anyone I can.

Dr. Phranque is a great listener and excellent Doctor of Acupuncturist. I make sure to see him at least once per every month for a healthy tune-​up. But, when I have pain or I am not feeling well, I make appointments for treatment. He has makes me feel better every time.
For years before I met Dr. Phranque, I had a longstanding chronic health issue that I thought I would just have to live with for the remainder of my life. I was wrong. Dr. Phranque gave me a couple of 5-​element acupuncture treatments and I have never had the problem since. That was several years ago. I am grateful.
Whether my muscles are sore, my body feels unhealthy, or I am fatigued from stress, I know I can make an appointment with Dr. Phranque and he will help me feel well again.

I met Dr. Phranque through a referral from my friend and she told me I must go to him because of my chronic pain. I had already looked into acupuncture and seen people here and there and no one I was really impressed with, no one who really took the time and helped me. I am the type of person to research before I take anyone’s advice.
So, I looked him up, and I was impressed to see that he had extensive credentials. An now after seeing him, I know he is truly a unique master of his field. It is rare to find an acupuncturist who is not only knowledgeable of the Chinese/​Japanese approach, but who has a Doctorate in his field AND has been trained in 5-​Element Theory (which is the most exact form of Chinese Medicine out there, in my opinion).
With a combination of modalities (needling/​cupping/​massage), I received a very customized service the first time along with a very in depth intake and consultation. With a tremendous amount of focus on my pain issues and every manifestation of WHY I was dealing with them (emotional/​mental/​physical), I finally found relief through alternative medicine, thanks to Dr. Phranque. I now see him once a month and am thankful to be in the hands of a Doctor who understands how to treat MY specific imbalances.
