Water Over Stone is more of a sanctuary than a movement studio in Wrigleyville. Imagine crown molded ceilings, scented oils and tribal music playing softly as you do your arch & curl and 100. Kathleen is the talented proprietor. She has been training me in Pilates and Gyrotonic(Google this if you’re not familiar) for the past two years. We work out twice a week in the early a.m. No two sessions seem to mirror each other. This keeps it interesting. My initial reason for going was to get toned and I’ve gotten that and so much more. I’m extremely flexible and have definition in my arms. After every session, my spine thanks me. Also, we’ve been working on strengthening my knees(to train for the marathon). Kathleen is extremely knowledgeable and when I complain about soreness in my lower back or aches in my shoulder, she does something called Feldenkrais. I can’t explain it, but it’s brilliant.
