I used to always go to tony for haircuts but since my last experience I refuse to go back. I came in for color and cut. I showed him the exact color I wanted which was nothing close to blonde but I ended being blonde anyways because he clearly wasn’t consistent on checking up on me and taking other customers for haircuts. I told him I definitely cannot walk out the way I looked and he died my hair back to a medium ash brown color. Of course with extra costs. In the end, he left dye all over my forehead, ear and neck. I left with burnt hair and wasted money. I am completely disappointed. Never again. The place is now named Tony’s hair salon by the way.

I love this salon for hair treatment and tattoo. But the phone number has changed. Anyone have an updated phone number for this Salon?

Van’s face care is the best! She really cares and gets to every pore on your poor face. The extraction combined with LED treatment or glycolic peel really do wonderfully for my hyperpigmentation. Especially with all the sun outside during the spring and summer season I am thankful to have found her.
I had scarring from shingles as well (stress-​provoked) and that has lifted and faded as well. Girls and boys with difficult skin – you can trust Van.

Vanessa did an awesome job, with my perminant eyebrows, and even did a touch up at no cost. I would definitely go back again for a different procedure. And she was very kind, made me feel welcomed, and she makes great coffee :-)

I have been coming to Tony for my haircut for the past years. He fades hair nicely and he knows exactly what to do. The salon just got remodeled, looks so much nicer and better. I heard they changed the owner. The salon new number is 773−506−0468. Another plus is that their prices have decreased. Men haircut is only $ 10!!! So much better can’t complain! I’ll give it a ¹⁰⁄₁₀. Mimi, another hair stylish, also came back she used to work here before. She used to do my girlfriend’s hair She’s thrilled that Mimi is back. Just a shoutout for ladies out there who’s looking to have their hair done. Overall I had the best experience at the salon. Would recommend and will come back again!

I been coming to Van’s since 08! I absolutely love the way they all cut hair. I personally recommend them. I give them a 5 star because I always leave feeling great and beautiful!!!

I had to write a review about Tony. I have been coming to him for the past year or two and he is my go to man for my haircuts. He fades my hair nicely and cuts it exactly the way I like it. I drive about 45 mins to get my hair cut by him. If you are an Asian fellow like me, go and try him out.

I had the best experience at Van’s Salon… Vanessa is so professional and knows exactly what she’s doing… i dont let alot of people get close to my face because of my skin condition but she has really made my face look and feel wonderful… i havent been this satisfied with the quick results I’ve gotten… definitely recommending this salon to you all if you want to see great beauty results…

I have been going to Van for over 7 years.
I have thin, pale lips, so I heard permanent make up is the way to go. It was an excellent decision. I don’t have to keep re-​applying lipstick everytime I take a sip of coffee or eat a meal!
A year later, I decided to ask her about permanent make up for my eyebrows.
My eyebrows were uneven, thin and overplucked. Van matched my coloring, facial features and measured my ‘future’ permanent eyebrows to look natural and even. Another great decision!
Van is professional, her salon is clean and efficient, her prices are very reasonable and she is truly an ARTIST!
Finally, I got tired of trying to put on eyeliner every morning. It was a ‘no-​brainer’ to ask Van once again for her opinion and advice.
I decided to have Van give me permanent eyeliner as well. Very thin, a dark brown, nothing dramatic; Amazing!
I feel confident, pretty, professional and ready to go every day b/​c of Van’s beautiful work.
Even if you have a question, go see Van for a consult. I have been BEYOND satisfied with Van’s Salon and Permanent make up.

One of the best decisions I have ever made was going to see Van. She did my permanent eyebrows and I LOVE them. She did an amazing job. I told her what I wanted, she gave me her suggestion, and together we found the perfect shape and color. It took longer than I was told it would take, but only because she took her time to get them exactly right. I never have to worry about drawing them in again. She did tell me I will have to retouch as fading will eventually happen. In the waiting room, there was a young lady who had driven from Missouri to have work done by Van. When I told Van, she was not surprised. She said she has clients from all over the US coming to see her and I wouldn’t doubt it. She’s awesome and I highly recommend her!

After reading the reviews, I called in and got an appointment with Tony within 30 minutes of my call. He was quick, did a great job, and the service was well-​prices. My only quip is that there was definitely a language barrier, which can definitely be a bit frustrating. However, I can put up with absolutely no knowledge of English if I can continue to get great, quick, and cheap haircuts.

I love this place. They’re friendly and reasonable price. I always get my hair cut here. They did good job on make up and hair for me and my bridesmaids at my place! (:

I really like Tony he did cut my hair perfectly last time I visited vans salon though the owner charged me $ 30 which is no biggie I would actually pay more if Tony would deal with me and not the bitchy owner tony earns it and he deserves it I will probably come back just for tony soon.

My boyfriend and I decided to try out this place since he’s been wanting a haircut (and he already looked like a mushroom with his overgrown hair). We came in and he asked if they do fades. The lady was sitting on the couch (browsing a magazine) and said yes. He explained what he wanted (0, 0, 2… I don’t know what those numbers meant). The lady said ok and seemed like she understood what he wanted. Take note, my bf is very picky with who cuts/​shaves his hair. So, upon hearing like the lady knew what she was talking about, he agreed to get his cut there. Thennn, she handed him to someone else. Ok. That’s fine. Maybe Lady #2 knows what to do too. Uhmm no. My bf had repeatedly showed her what he wanted, the line he wanted… In the end, his head looked like it was cut by a mom who just wanted to trim her kid’s hair to get the hair out of his eyes.
I know next to nothing about fades, but even I was able to tell it was a bad cut. The line on the forehead was crooked. Anyone with eyes could see the right side was higher than the left side. My bf said he wanted an angle on the side, but the lady just shaved straight. By that point, he was already fuming. The shaving in the back wasn’t good either. There were patches of long hair left (which I did enjoy shaving for him when we got home). We were charged $ 15 even though the price on the board said $ 12 (if that was $ 3 tip, then it was undeserved).
We had to go to another haircut place to fix what they did. My bf was very upset, and no, he will not be back. Tbh, I’m reluctant to trust them with my own haircut.

I had to knock a star off… pricing seems to be inconsistent every time I’ve gone here within the last 3 years. I’ve had $ 15, $ 20, $ 25, $ 30 haircuts here and I’ve had waist-​long hair for quite some time. So I assume it’s better to inquire about price (that day) before making a trip there. Depending on mood, weather, or they like you or not — price is a gamble. If my go-​to hairstylist Tony wasn’t there, I probably wouldn’t be going back. Being a loyal customer, if they raise it to $ 35 haircut only, I might just have to reconsider since that doesn’t come with a wash and I always leave a good tip. Perhaps it would be nice if they offered occasional haircut specials — then this price fluctuating thing wouldn’t be so puzzling.

I decided to try Van’s due to its convenient location and high ratings on Unilocal.I walked in for a basic leg wax. The staff seemed a little frazzled to see me.
One of the staff took me back into a private room and asked me to put on a velcro towel-​skirt that was hanging on the wall (when was the last time it was washed? how many bums has it seen?). I then waited awkwardly in the room for about 25 minutes until the staff returned.
She seemed very nervous and unsure of herself as she managed the pink wax. She dribbled the wax on me very inconsistently (rather than spreading it), and so I finally started showing her how to wax me! By the time she finished (over an hour just to do half legs), I still had several patches of unwaxed areas. I pointed out all the areas and showed her how to spread the wax correctly.
This experience was a total joke. I won’t be returning and have learned the lesson in that you get what you pay for.

I went to Van’s about 8 weeks ago inquiring about permanent makeup. I ended up getting my eyebrows touched up (I had them tattooed once years ago). Vanessa, who is the owner of the salon, does the best work! Not only is she precise and professional, she also takes her time to explain the procedure as we went on. She helped me to reshape & define my brows to fit my face, and even matched me with the perfect color.
After going through the entire healing process, I can now see what a beautiful job she’s done, and can honestly say that I’m more than pleased. I look forward to having more work done in the near future… and I would definitely recommend Vanessa to any of my friends.

I went to Van’s because I was looking for a salon close to home with more reasonable prices than I’ve experienced in Andersonville (for basic hair cuts). I found Van’s on Unilocal and decided to give it a whirl on Saturday, as I had a wedding to attend and figured the cut/​style would be better off than me trying to make it look good.
I made an appointment and when I walked in they didn’t have it in the books. No biggie, as there were 3 stylists sitting in the waiting area playing on their phones. So I got the coolest looking, young Vietnamese stylist who gives some great shampoo-​ing. Their seats are actually beds, so you lie down while getting your double shampoo-​conditioner-​rinse and head massage. I think lack of confidence speaking in English kept him quiet, but I didn’t mind. At the chair, I asked for a trim of about 2 inches, and the stylist asked «bob?» and I said to myself… if he knows how to do a bob, then I’ll get a bob. And I did, and it’s great. He was attentive to the details of my thin hair, and took his time with the blow-​drying then straightening, and styling with a little more blow drying. It looks very cute and was definitely better than a regular ol’ 2 inch trim.
The price was great at $ 25 for the service! That would have been more like $ 80 in A-​ville.
I will say that I’m not sure this will by «my salon» as there were little things that kept me from being the most comfortable. The stylists sat about 5 ft from me waiting for walk-​ins, and I couldn’t help but notice that there was enough hair on the floor and dust on the furniture that it couldn’t have hurt to pick up a broom or wash some brushes. They definitely stare as you walk in, walk out, sit in the chair, say anything, and/​or don’t say anything, which wasn’t necessarily rude or bad, but uncomfortable.
At $ 25 for a good cut, though, it’s worth checking out.

All her hairdressers turn out wonderful work. After being in the beauty biz since I was a tot at my aunt’s elbow in her salon, and after training in hairdressing all over the world, responsible for TV commercials, mag ads and the like, Van’s is one of the top salons I’ve ever been to.

Tony is the hairdresser of my dreams! After my disastrous haircut at Blo Salon, I went to Tony to do some damage control. The results were fantastic. This guy really knows Asian hair, or I should specify, he really knows dark, thick, South Asian hair. I went in looking like someone who had lived out in the wild for a long time and came out with a chic, manageable style that made me feel so comfortable. I got an appointment for the same day, which was very surprising, but so refreshing. The shampoo, cut and style cost me only $ 30, and it is way better than any cut I have had in the past ten years. He was also really quick after the initial wait for about 10 minutes. Tony washed and dried my hair first before cutting it… unusual, but with good results.
P. S. The salon is very basic. If you are looking for luxury, pampering and atmosphere, this is not the place for you.
