Utopia Nails & Spa

I went into this establishment for a no chip manicure and a pedicure. My feet literally sat in water for 30 minutes while they serviced everyone else. I never received service and they totally ignored me. I will never come back to this business again.

I’ve been coming here since 2010; and nobody can replace David, his wife Cindy and staff! Most welcoming people! Always a great time! I’ve brought over a dozen people here and they fall in love with this place!

After a bad experience with many other spas this one is my favorite in Chicago area! They are friendly and always seem like the customer comes first. Their atmosphere is very loving!

This was a nice place. I took my mom and my cousin here to celebrate my cousin’s birthday. This place was packed, but with good reason as they do a great job. I would have given them a 5 star had they not forgotten we also wanted manicures with our pedicures. We also were there nearly 2 ½ hrs just for our pedicures. Still they do a good job and I’ll be going back and make sure they know I want both to be placed in the rotation.

They are very expensive nice job but. You have to ask what the prices are no flyers or anything. Smh

This was my go to nail salon in the neighborhood but I’m afraid it won’t be any longer. First of staff are not friendly, they seem very rushed and annoyed of whatever service you’re getting done. They keep telling you about how they are late on their «appointments» do I need to make an appointment from now on or what?! Our wait time was 30 minutes which turned into 45 minutes. Total time in the salon was 1 hour and 30 minutes just for nail color change.
Went in for nail color change and the person seemed disturbed by that. Not only did he rush through the process but he did a very messy job. I have bubbles on all my nails and some edges are not painted (I could have done a better job myself at home.)
Costumer service is bad and service overall is bad. If you complain about one thing, the employees argue with you. Don’t think I’ll be going back to Utopia for any type of service.

Went in for a full set with no chip polish. Very clean nice shop using quality products OPI etc… very happy with my new set my tech paid good attention to detail. Prices are fair as well. Will be my go to nail salon when I’m in this area.

Come in and see Cindy she’s the best, but make sure you call ahead of time to schedule an appt she gets really busy

I’ve been coming here for a few years now and I LOVE this place. I come every 2 weeks for a No Chip Manicure and Pedicure. I’ve been to plenty other places for a No Chip and it never lasted a week.
I only see Cindy here and she does the most amazing job. Since she’s being doing my No Chip I can go 2 – 3 weeks and it still looks new. She also does my eyebrows, perfect every time.
The salon is beautiful. They also have the largest selection of No Chip colors that I’ve ever seen. I always have the hardest time picking what color I want. Great service all around.

I like this place because it has a private parking lot, service is usually quick but on weekends they can get backed up, the only concern I have is that some of the people who work here don’t do a great job. I like to be able to walk I to a place and anyone I get do a good job which is not the case here. I had two different people, one for my pedicure and one for my manicure. When my pedicure was done I waited for 20mins for my manicure. I would only use this place as a back up.

Don’t do it! Don’t go here!
I had a horrible experience at this nail salon. A friend of mine came here after work one day to treat ourselves to a mani/​pedi. Our pedicures were fine, nothing to write home about, but okay. Afterwards, we went to get our nails done. As the employees began our manicures, we were told that it would only be a little bit more expensive to get a no chip manicure. We agreed, and they began to work on our nails. Halfway through, they asked us for another extra fifteen dollars. We didn’t understand why we were being charged extra until they told us that a no chip manicure was only a few dollars more expensive than a regular manicure, but we’d have to pay full price for the pedicure because while they had a deal for a manicure/​pedicure, but not a no chip manicure/​pedicure. Reluctantly, we handed over more money.
I had never had a no chip manicure before, but the experience seemed rather strange. The nail polish went on blotchy, and the man kept adding layer after layer, and my nails were looking worse and worse. At this point, as a result of their slowness and need to work with several people at once, we had been at the salon for well over an hour. I had expressed the need to finish up the manicure because I needed to pick up my daughter from daycare. They proceeded, as slowly as ever. Finally, the man who was working on my nails began to speak in a foreign language with another employee. He got up and walked away, and she took his place. She begin scrubbing my nails to try to get the nail polish off. Then, she took out one of those machines that are used to take off gel nails, and attempted to remove my nail polish with that. It was very painful and she was taking layers off of my nails!
I continued expressing my need to leave because I had to pick up my daughter for daycare, and at this point, I had been at the salon for over two hours. She just kept telling me, «one minute.» It was NOT one minute. Eventually, I had no choice, but to leave. I was absolutely livid, as they were not able to get the nail polish off of my nails (which I would later have to pay another salon to remove.)
In frustration, I asked for my money back. They would not give it to me. I paid for a manicure, but I did not get one. I only thing I got was destroyed nails and frustration.
In a city with so many nail salons, do yourself a favor. Skip this one.

I just left the salon and felt the need to write this review. For a Saturday I know to expect it to be busy which it was, I walked and was greeted. I sat down for probably no more than 10 min– which I have no complaint on that. The only complaint I have was on the man who ended taking care of me, I came in for a no– chip manicure — he did not greet me or said anything to me. Only to ask what color I wanted. He seemed to get pretty annoyed that the sensory from the UV light machine kept shutting off every time I moved my fingers –which only happen 3 times. He seemed to expect me to know that this machine had a sensor and I shouldn’t move at all. He did raise his voice a little and told me to stop moving but when I returned the same attitude back he calmed down. He then in a more calmer tone told me it’s a new uv light machine that it sensored not like the timed ones I’m use too but, that would have been nice if he would of mention in the beginning.
The nails came out ok not great. He didn’t even bother to ring me up to pay sent someone else. For a $ 30 dollar job, I just gave him only $ 3 for a tip not the usual 20% I give when I received good service.
Needless to say I won’t return back– there are plenty of nail salon in the area with better service just thought I would try this place.

Best nail salon EVER!
Ever since I was introduced to this place by my sister in law I have never gone to a different salon since.
Everyone is extremely friendly and what I love about them best is that they take their time with every single client.
I loved this place since day one, but what did it for me was the last time I went to them which was about a week ago.
I was in a desperate need of getting my nails done as well as my toes.
My best friend Monika and I went to the salon at 7:30 when they close at 8.
I did not notice that they close so early until I came up to the door.
They only had one client they were working on. Monika and I asked whether it was too late and they said «no» and welcomed us in with open arms.
We both got our acrylic nails and toes done and they took their sweet time taking care of us.
I felt horrible the whole time because they didn’t close until 9 because of us. We kept apologizing and they wouldn’t haven’t because David (I’m guess he’s the owner) said that they do it all the time and have no problem with it.
They were so sweet and friendly and you literally feel like you are just hanging out with your friends while in there.
The laughs never stop! lol

Unpleasant owners who pick and choose their customers. Not very welcoming environment. Appointments don’t matter because you’ll be waiting another 30 – 45 min anyways. No hello or Thank You, unless you find Cindy and David in a good mood. Just the honest truth.

Steven is hands down an amazing nail tech. He is always on time and can hold a conversation. His work speaks for itself!

2015 horrible! What has happened to this once fantastic spot?! No chip CHIPPED with in 2 days, they fixed then the second day after same nail chipped! They said I was doing something, I WAS ON VACATION so no I wasn’t even washing dishes! They didn’t even bother to redo the nail,

I have gone to Utopia a few times over the last couple months. I’ve been happy every time and my pink & whites and pedicures look great for three weeks easy. Very nice staff, massage chairs, and reasonable prices, and they always have good tv or movies on :)
