this is regarding the wheaton office: dr. nuzarello is a fine physician. his office staff needs to be replaced… in total. i called 4 days ago to request a prescription refill. medco needed more info, and i was assured it would be taken care of. no return call, medco still waiting. i called the office today at 4:30 to find out why nothing has been done. i was immediately put on hold…16 min later i hung up and called back… the office was CLOSED. they quit at 4:45 with at least one person holding on the phone. i guess it’s no big deal, it is only my MEDICATION.

Wow, this place is horrible.
I was referred to another clinic for an analysis on ¹²⁄₃₀. Today is 1/​26, and I still haven’t been reached out by the nurse/​doctor to review my results.
I was told by the initial clinic that the results would be available in 5 business days. After the first week went by, I was expecting a call from the clinic, which is the normal custom of medical practices.
After two weeks, I decided to call the office directly, so as to learn of the results I had paid hundreds of dollars to conduct (for the 2^nd time). I called back three days later after I had not yet received a response. I then called back another three days later, still haven’t not heard a response. It is now more than 10 days since my initial call to the office (and only a few days shy of a month since my initial appointment with the clinic I was referred to), and I STILL haven’t found out the results of my tests.
At this point, they have stolen hundreds of dollars from me without providing me the results of the tests I have paid for.
This two-​bit operation is a joke.
Only go here if you want to pay hundreds of extra dollars (not covered by insurance, of course) for tests that you will never learn the results of.

I don’t expect to be treated like royalty when I go to the doctor. I understand that sometimes you have to wait a while. I went in for four appointments and each time I waited at least an hour. One time I had to leave before my appointment because I was going to miss a shift if I stayed any longer. The appointment was at 10am. How do you get an hour and a half behind schedule at 10 am?
They also seem very money-​hungry, which I have not experienced at a doctor before. They told me I needed several appointments for a simple problem, and at the end they told me because of a medication I have been on for years (that they knew about the whole time), they couldn’t help me with my problem, and basically sent me away with the instructions just to do kegels.
Their billing system is horrible and shady. I always paid my co-​pay at the time of the appointment, but without fail they would call a couple weeks later claiming I still owed a balance, usually for a random fee.

I really wish I had read these other reviews before making an appointment.
This place is terrible!

Do not ever go here. The worse doctors office at NMH. Consistenly book too many patients, wait time are horrendous, and there is a seriouls lack of consideration for others time. It is a machine to make money not take care of patients. Stay away!

Part 1 — I was sent to one of the doctors by my internist for a minor thing. She blamed my smoking on the fact that I could have kidney issues… Problem is: I only had a cigarette once in a blue moon while social drinking and that was in my younger years. I was never a true smoker. She also made me wait 45 min. longer than my scheduled appt in her office and had a student come in to ask me the questions I had just answered on my new patient information sheet. She ordered a bunch of costly tests and when I said I wasn’t so sure this was necessary yet, treated me like I was insulting her skills as a med professional. Then proceeded to tell me all about her upcoming honeymoon.
Part 2 — I went back to this office to see another doctor referred by a coworker thinking it couldn’t possibly get any worse. He said I didn’t need all the tests, etc. Phew, I thought we were getting somewhere… Except, little by little, he and his nurse told me all these «scare tactic» reasons why I should get more and more tests — which I did and each came back that I was fine. (Thank Goodness) During one test, of which I had informed front office staff that I had another appt. in the building and was assured the test would only take 5 minutes, the doctor was 30 minutes late to the office and I sat in the room «prepped» and uncomfortable for a long 30 minutes. When he finally came into the room for the procedure he brought a very young male med student in with him and without even asking my permission proceeded to do the test. I would normally never be against a med student being in the room, but I was undressed from waist down… a courtsey «is this ok with you» would have been nice. I am a relation of a med pro who also assured me that this was VERY rude and unprofessional. On top of this, no one gave me the proper after-​procedure necessities. I then reminded the doctor of a symptom his nurse brought to my attention and he spent another 10 minutes searching for my file and these notes. (Making me still even later to my next appt.) He said «I know your concerned about money and this next test is up to you, but I would have it done…»
I am not concerned about money where health is a factor but I am concerned about being taken advantage of!
Part 3 — Front staff is ok if you can get through without waiting on hold for 15 + minutes and they have admitted that they need more staff. I have my favorites on the staff, but it still took almost 2 weeks to get pre-​authorization information squared with my insurance co.
Point of all this — I would seek other urology medical professionals and avoid this practice.

While it seems like urologists are scarce in this great city, I would try and find another one before attempting to go here. First off, you would think an urologist office would have more than one bathroom considering each patient has to give a urine sample right? Well this place only has one unisex bathroom, so be prepared to wait in line, OR use the public bathroom outside the office.
I didn’t feel the level of concern I normally feel with my other doctors, but my doctor was referred to me so I figured I’d continue seeing her. Three weeks after our initial meeting I had an issue that required me to seek a medical profession just to make sure everything was ok. My doctor was busy, but I was able to see one of the nurses. After taking my symptoms she kept leaving to go ask the doctor questions. If the doctor has time to answer your questions, just send her in? Wouldn’t that be faster than running back and forth? Anyway, she finally concluded the next step was an invasive procedure.
Here is where the set up to the rooms come into play. If you’re reading this review you probably know in order to have a «procedure» w/​a urologist it requires you to «drop your draws» so to speak. Well the examing bed is somewhat facing the door to get in and out. So if the doctor or nurse goes in and out, (which my nurse was doing a lot since she kept asking questions) you’re basically giving everyone that walks by a free shot. Luckily nobody walked by when I was there, but I remember thinking wow that would be pretty embarrassing, why create a room like this?
Anyway after I found out what this procedure really was, I said I am going to choose not to do that. The nurse got super pissed off. She left the room huffing and puffing. No diagnosis was made, I wasn’t presented other options, I basically was left to get my belongings and leave on my own. The whole experience made me feel so uneasy that I decided to call the hospital, and find another urologist.
Once I did that, I called the office to cancel all my upcoming appts, and got confirmation this was done. I called back a few days later to pick up my records.
When I got there, I didnt need to show any ID, I basically said I called, and they handed me my whole file. I could’ve been anyone! Isn’t there suppose to be some sort of security with medical records? At that time, I told them I was no longer going to see my doctor and I remembered when I initally signed a new patient form, they required 30 days notice when leaving. I wanted to fill out what needed to be done to leave and cancel any upcoming appts. The receptionist was like «ahhh. ok,?: I never saw that 30 day thing, but telling us is all you need to do.»
Great, I thought everything was done.
3 weeks later– I get a phone call from the office saying everything came back fine. (which is all I really wanted to know. Kudos to myself for not going through w/​the procedure to find that answer out.) The lady on the phone continued to say «But the Dr. was looking over the notes and really wants a follow up appt to see what’s going on, but I don’t see one scheduled.» Thanks Doc. Three weeks later, welcome to the party.
I told the lady, I was no longer a patient of which
already been documented twice! She said ohh ok, I’ll let the doctor know.
Well today, another week later, I got a call to confirm my appt for Monday. Oh man… Shaking my head. now it’s just comical. Last week, you didnt see any follow ups in the system, this week now I have one. I told that lady I was no longer a patient (again!) and confused, said ok I’ll let the doctor know. (again!)
I started this review a few months back, and I’m still getting bills from them for this one meeting. I am going to pay them because it’s easier to do that, than the hassle but this was definitely not an office I’d recommend. If you need a good urologist I would call the hospital and find another one. That’s what I did, and I couldn’t have been happier. (See my other reviews to know who it is!) :)
