Established in 1975.

It was originally called top flight but new owners changed the name to top view in 2006.

My husband and I bought this restaurant in 2006. It’s not our first restaurant we’ve owned so we’ve had a lot of experience dealing with restaurants. Its a family run business so no matter what time of the day you go there will be a family member there to make sure that things are running smoothly and always making sure customers are having a great experience at Top View. My husband Mike is the chef at Top View. He’s the guy that makes sure the food comes out perfect everytime. He makes just about everything homemade since he has been doing it for 20 years.

Our waitress was great very tentative and considerate. But the owner manager needs a better attitude by far. There was a spoiled condiment on the table which I used. I informed our waitress her response was great. I didnt want new food or a discount which she offered. I just wanted them to know it was no good and needed to be tossed there wasn’t much in the bottle, so it might have been a 50 cent lose to the owner lol. but her response not only was it not quite but it was rude her attitude towards the waitress and in ear shot of the paying customer smh. Instead of tossing the bottle she went on to say no its not spoiled it doesnt spoil with the rudest attitude towards not only the waitress but an insult towards her customers. I didnt want anything in return or new food and I was more then polite and quite.

This place it’s great! I’ve never personally eaten at the restaurant itself but I have ordered breakfast for delivery. The food is amazing! Their French toast are nice and buttery and their Mexican skillet is delicious!!! Thumbs up for their food and friendly customer service over the phone. :)

This is a great diner. They have very good coffee if you are a coffee snob like I am. The breakfast food is great. Very good omelettes and skillets. Very good prices. We eat here when we visit our on ar Uchicago. They have Greek gyro omelettes and skillets and Mexican themed items as well. The hard part s choosing. It is all good.

Breakfast specials are good for price. Atmosphere is somewhat old and bathroom could be improved but overall it’s ok. I’ve been a customer for years and food and service have been consistent. Some staff are less friendly than others but overall ok. No WiFi.

I love this Place, the staff is so nice and friendly and service is spot on. The food –portions are large enough to take a doggie bag. The taste soooooo GOOD!!! I give this place AAA+++ It has been in the neighborhood for a long time –so thats means YOU and your family and friends rest asure thats it GREAT!

OK the food was good but your typical diner meal n the price was not bad either considering I had 4 mouths to feed haha. Their bacon and sausage omelets was to die for. Pancakes were good. coffee alright not great… the wait was a little long for my hungry jacks… Might come back if in the neighborhood…

What I like about this place is the staff! And taste too. They have a great breakfast menu and the are very family friendly. The only thing they would need to update is their deco but hey as long as food and service are great they can look outdated. ;)

Top View may strike you as a simple, run-​of-​the-​mill diner, but in actuality, their food is very good and they’re always packed! I usually just come here for breakfast whenever I stay with family in the Southwest side of town. They are a no-​frills diner-​style place, but their menu is vast. From crepes to pancakes to blintzes to waffles, they do it all. Not to mention omelettes, skillets and (my favorite) Country Fried Steak! They also have lunch and dinner options such as burgers, sandwiches, etc. I’ve been here a handful of times and have never had anything I didn’t like. They are reasonably priced and give you good portions of food. The servers are quick and good at their jobs. No complaints there! Decent spot to grab a quick bite while you’re near Midway. Good job, Top View. You got breakfast right.

It can be really busy here! They have quick service and the food doesn’t take that long to be served. My favorites are the veggie skillet and the Popeye omelet. Both come with your choice of a side of toast or pancakes, they also are served with hash browns. My family has been coming here for a long time, we always get breakfast any time of the day when we come.
